(Witch enters stage left, holding a flower)
Narrator: Once upon a time in a far-off land, a young prince lived in a shining castle. He was
selfish and unkind, and one night an old woman came to his door offering a single rose in
exchange for shelter from the cold. The prince turned her away, and in punishment, she
transformed him into a beast and placed a curse on his castle and all who lived there. The
rose she had offered would bloom until his twenty-first year. If he could learn to love another
and earn their love in return before the last petal fell, the curse would be broken. If not, he
would be doomed to remain a beast forever.
PRINCE: Get out of my sight, you old hag!
WITCH: You have shown me nothing but cruelty and now you will suffer the consequences. I
curse you to live as a hideous beast until you learn to love and be loved in return. And this
rose will be a reminder of your fate. If you haven't found true love by the time the last petal
falls, you will remain a beast forever.
(Witch exits stage left)
PRINCE: (holding the rose) What have I done? How can I break this curse?
(Several years pass. Belle enters stage right)
BELLE: Whoa, what are you?
BEAST: i am the Beast. And you are trespassing.
BELLE: I'm sorry, I didn't mean to intrude. I was just looking for my father.
Beast: You're not welcome here.
Belle: Please, I won't stay long. I just need to find my father.
Beast: (sighs) Fine. But you must promise to stay in the room I give you.
Belle: Thank you. (exits)
(Inside the castle)
MAURICE: Belle! Thank goodness you're here!
BELLE: Father, what happened? Why are you here?
MAURICE: The Beast captured me because I picked a rose from his garden. Please, you
have to leave before he hurts you too.
Maurice: Please, let me go! I didn't mean to trespass!
Beast: Trespass? You stole a rose from my garden!
Belle: Please, let him go. I'll stay in his place.
Beast: You would do that? For him?
Belle: Yes. Please, let him go.
Beast:Okay I will release him.
(belle stay in the castle in few days)
NARRATOR: Belle decides to explore the castle on her own. She wanders into a forbidden
room and finds a magic rose. She reaches out to touch it, but the Beast appears out of
nowhere and yells at her to leave.
BELLE: I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you.
BEAST: It doesn't matter! You shouldn't have come in here!
Narrator:Belle starts to feel trapped and misses her old life. She tries to leave the castle, but
the Beast catches her.
BEAST: You're not going anywhere!
BELLE: Please, let me go! I can't stay here forever!
BEAST: Fine! Go then! You're just like everyone else who's ever crossed my path!
NARRATOR:Belle runs out of the castle, tears streaming down her face. She wanders
through the forest, lost and alone. Suddenly, she hears a pack of wolves howling in the
distance.
BELLE: Oh no, wolves! I have to get away!
NARRATOR:Belle starts to run, but the wolves catch up to her. She stumbles and falls, and
the wolves surround her. Just when she thinks it's all over, the Beast appears, fighting off the
wolves with all his might.
BEAST: Belle! Are you okay?
BELLE: Yes, thank you! I thought I was done for!
Beast: And you are Belle, the girl who saved my life.
Belle: [looks at him, confused] I don't understand.
Beast: [takes a deep breath] When you came to my castle, I was angry and selfish. I didn't
understand the value of friendship or kindness. But you showed me that there is more to life
than just being angry and bitter. And for that, I am grateful.I'm sorry for how I acted. I didn't
mean to scare you.
Belle: it's okay. You may look like a monster on the outside, but on the inside, you're just a
scared, lonely creature who wants to be loved.I understand why you're so angry. I'm glad I
could help. But we need to get out of here. Those wolves will be back soon.
Narrator:The Beast looks down at Belle, a newfound respect in his eyes.
Narrator:Belle smiles, knowing that she's found a true friend in the most unlikely of places
Beast: [nods] Right. Follow me.
(Later in the castle)

Belle: Yes, I am. Thank you.
Beast: (looks at Belle) I've never felt this way about anyone before.
Belle: (smiling) Me neither.
Narrator:Belle and the Beast sit across from each other at a lavish dinner table, surrounded
by the enchanted objects of the castle. Lumiere, the candlestick, lights the room while Mrs.
Potts, the teapot, pours tea for the two.
BEAST: I hope you like the food.
BELLE: It's wonderful, thank you.
BEAST: I'm glad. It's not often that I have company for dinner.
BELLE: I'm happy to be here. I've been enjoying our talks.
BEAST: Me too. You're unlike anyone I've ever met.
BELLE: And you're not like anyone I've ever met either.
The Beast looks down, suddenly shy. Belle reaches across the table and takes his hand.
BELLE: I wanted to thank you.
BEAST: For what?
BELLE: For saving my life. If it weren't for you, those wolves would have killed me.
BEAST: It was nothing. I just couldn't bear the thought of anything happening to you.
Narator:and the beast invited belle to dance
Beast: Would you do me the honor of dancing with me?
Belle hesitates for a moment, but then nods her head in agreement. The Beast takes her
hand and leads her to the center of the ballroom.
Beast: (nervously) I hope you don't mind dancing with a...a beast.
Belle: (smiling) Not at all.
Narrator:Belle smiles gratefully at him. Suddenly, the room starts to shake and the objects in
the room start to come to life.
MRS. POTTS: It's happening! It's happening!
LUMIERE: The spell is finally broken!
BELLE: What's happening?
BEAST: The enchantress's curse. It's breaking.
narrator:As they speak, the Beast starts to change, his fur receding, his claws shrinking, and
his body shrinking until he is once again a handsome prince.
BELLE: You're...you're human again!
PRINCE: Yes, thanks to you.
Belle stands up and takes the Prince's hand, gazing into his eyes.
BELLE: You were always beautiful to me, no matter what form you were in.
PRINCE: And you were always brave and kind, no matter how much I frightened you.
narrator:They embrace, and the objects of the castle cheer.
LUMIERE: It's a tale as old as time!(kanta kanta)
MRS. POTTS: True as it can be!
The two kiss, surrounded by the magical objects of the castle.(or hug)
