Differentiates types of eating

(fueling for performance,

emotional eating, social eating,
eating while watching tv or sports
events)
Eating is a part of our daily
routine.
We eat food to increase our
energy replenish our
strength, and to pow our
minds to think more clearly
to handle problems.
Eating is something we do
every day because our
bodies need food to stay
strong and full of energy.
Food gives us the power to
move, play, and do all our
daily activities. When we
eat, our body takes the
good stuff from the food—
like vitamins, proteins, and
carbohydrates—and turns it
into energy. This helps us
stay active and feel less
tired.
Food also helps our brain work better. When we eat
healthy meals, we can focus more, think clearly, and
solve problems more easily. If we don’t eat enough, we
might feel weak, sleepy, or have trouble concentrating in
school.

So, eating isn’t just about

filling our stomachs—it helps
our bodies stay strong and our
minds stay sharp!
4 Types of Eating
Fueling for Performance

Athletes need the right food to

give them energy for training
and competitions. A balanced
diet with carbohydrates,
proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals,
and water helps them perform
well and recover quickly.
Social Eating
Sometimes, people eat a
lot at parties or gatherings
even when they are not
hungry. This is called social
eating. It happens because
they want to fit in or avoid
offending others.
Emotional Eating
Emotional eating happens
when people eat food
because they feel sad,
stressed, or bored—not
because they are hungry.
Distracted Eating

Eating while watching TV

or using a phone can be
unhealthy. When people
are focused on their
screens, they don’t notice
how much they are eating
and may consume too
much junk food.
