I. Introduction

An industry tour is essential for us as Bachelor of Science in Hospitality

Management (BSHM) students because it allows us to witness and experience the real-world
operations of the food and hospitality industry. Through this firsthand exposure, we can better
understand the realities of working in hotels, restaurants, and other hospitality establishments.
Since we have a subject on Fundamentals of Food and Beverage Operations, this tour will
help us expand our knowledge and grasp the concepts more effectively. By seeing and
experiencing how the industry truly works, we can deepen our understanding and prepare
ourselves for the career path we are destined to pursue in the future.

II. Day 1 Narrative

I expected our first day to be exciting, educational, and full of delicious food,
but also a bit tiring. Our first stop was 2GO, and as soon as we arrived, I was amazed by the
place. I have always dreamed of working on a cruise ship, so stepping onto the vessel and
exploring every part of it was an exciting experience for me. What made it even more
enjoyable was sharing the moment with my friends—we all had a great time touring the ship.

However, our lunch at 2GO was a bit disappointing since the food was not as
good as we expected. Despite this, the overall experience was still fun and memorable.

After 2GO, we visited Diamond Hotel, a luxurious 5-star hotel. I was truly in
awe of its elegance and beauty. We stayed there for about an hour and a half before heading
to Alba Restaurant, a European cuisine restaurant, where we attended a seminar and enjoyed
an outstanding meal. Every dish we tasted was incredibly delicious, and we were all
impressed by the flavors.

Beyond the food, the ambiance of Alba Restaurant was also stunning, making
our experience even more enjoyable. After our meal, we returned to the hotel, spent time
bonding with friends, and rested for the next day's activities.

Overall, our first day was filled with new experiences, breathtaking places, and
amazing food.

III. Day 2 Narrative –

For our second day, I expected it to be just as fun and enjoyable as the first,
especially because of the food and beautiful places we were going to visit.

We started our day with breakfast at Diamond Hotel, and I must say, it was the
best breakfast I have ever had in my life. Every dish was incredibly delicious, and I was truly
impressed. Aside from the amazing food, the hotel staff were also very friendly and
accommodating, always welcoming us with warm smiles.

After breakfast, we took a short tour around the hotel before taking a quick rest
for about an hour. This was in preparation for our seminar and lunch, which were also held at
Diamond Hotel. After checking out, we proceeded to lunch at the same hotel, where we once
again indulged in an array of delicious dishes. Even the desserts were exceptional, making the
meal even more enjoyable.

Following lunch, we attended a seminar that focused on proper order-taking in

hotels, how to professionally communicate with guests, and an introduction to baking. The
session was engaging, and one of the highlights was the interactive activity with the chef—he
even gave out cookies as rewards to those who answered his questions correctly, which made
the experience even more exciting.

After the seminar, we were given a tour of the hotel, allowing us to further
appreciate its beauty and facilities. Before leaving, we were served a delicious ensaymada for
our afternoon snack.

Our next and final stop was Intramuros, where we strolled around for a short
while, taking in the historical sights and atmosphere. This marked the end of our industry
tour, and it was truly a memorable experience.

Overall, our second day was filled with incredible food, valuable learning
experiences, and unforgettable moments with friends. This industry tour not only gave us a
deeper understanding of the hospitality industry but also left us with memories that we will
cherish forever.

IV. Conclusion –

Our second industry tour was an unforgettable experience that deepened my

understanding of the hospitality industry. I enjoyed exploring 2GO and Diamond Hotel,
attending seminars, and indulging in amazing food—especially the exceptional breakfast at
Diamond Hotel. To improve future tours, I suggest adding more hands-on activities and
allowing more time for exploration. Overall, it was both educational and enjoyable, and I’m
grateful for the experience.
