What are the features of Photoshop

 Layers and masks: You can work with multiple layers to stack, rearrange, and blend
different elements. Masks enable you to hide or reveal certain parts of a layer for
editing.
 Selection tools: tools to select different areas or objects within an image. This allows
you to work with precision and focus.
 Filters and adjustments: You can blur, sharpen, and distort images in Photoshop, as
well as adjust the colour, brightness, and contrast to enhance image quality and
style.
 Text and shapes: Add and edit text and shapes in various fonts, sizes, colours, and
styles.
 Pen tool: If you want to draw freehand with precision and control in Photoshop to
create your own shapes and pathways.
 3D capabilities: You can import and work with 3D objects, apply textures, and render
3D scenes directly in Photoshop.
 Export and sharing options: Once you’re happy with your work, you can save and
export it in a variety of formats, including PSD, JPEG, PNG, and GIF.

2. List and explain any 8 tools in Photoshop

 Move tool (V) Moves selections or layer.

 Rectangular Marquee tool (M) Selects an area in your image in a rectangular box. Hold
the Shift key to make the selection a square.
 Lasso tool (L) Selects an area in your image in a free-form shape.
 Auto Selection tool (A) Automatically makes a selection when you draw a shape around
the object you want to select.
 Brush tool (B) Creates soft or hard strokes of colour. You can use it to simulate airbrush
techniques.
 Eraser tool (E) Erases the pixels in the image as you drag through them.
 Gradient tool (G) Fills in an area of image by a gradient.
 Colour Picker tool (I) Copies or samples the colour of an area in your photo to set a new
foreground or background colour.
 Crop tool (C) Trims the part of an image according to the selection. For more
information about the tool
 Type tool (T) Creates and edits text on your image.
 Paint Bucket tool (K) Fills an area that is similar in colour value to the pixels you click
 Eye tool (Y) Removes the red eye effect, pet eye effect, and corrects closed eyes in your
photos.

3. Explain types of filter and its uses

Gaussian Blur : Quickly blurs a selection by an adjustable amount. Gaussian refers to the
bell-shaped curve that is generated when Photoshop applies a weighted average to the
pixels. The Gaussian Blur filter adds low-frequency detail and can produce a hazy effect.
Lens Blur: Adds blur to an image to give the effect of a narrower depth of field so that some
objects in the image stay in focus and others areas are blurred.
Motion Blur: Blurs in the specified direction (from –360º to +360º) and at a specified
intensity (from 1 to 999). The filter’s effect is analogous to taking a picture of a moving
object with a fixed exposure time.
Shape Blur: Uses the specified kernel to create the blur. You can load different shape
libraries by clicking the triangle and choosing from the list.
Smart Blur: Blurs an image with precision. You can specify a radius, a threshold, and a blur
quality. The Radius value determines the size of the area searched for dissimilar pixels. The
Threshold value determines how dissimilar the pixels must be before they are affected.
Surface Blur: Blurs an image while preserving edges. This filter is useful for creating special
effects and for removing noise or graininess. The Radius option specifies the size of the area
sampled for the blur.

4. Write steps to adjust brightness and contrast of an image using Photoshop

Access the Brightness/Contrast Adjustment:
Open your image in Photoshop.
Go to the menu bar and select Image > Adjustments > Brightness/Contrast.
Adjust Brightness:
The "Brightness" slider controls the overall lightness or darkness of the image.
Adjust Contrast:
The "Contrast" slider controls the difference in brightness between the light and dark
areas of the image.

5. Explain the tools in macromedia flash 8

Selection Tool: The selection tool is one of the most used tools, it is used to select and move
anything present on the stage. Its shortcut key is V.
Free Transform Tool: Free Transform tool allows us to scale, rotate and skew any object. It
is very helpful in changing the size and orientation of objects. Its shortcut key is Q.
Pen Tool: The pen tool is used to draw lines or precise curves. Its shortcut key is P.
Text Tool: The text tool is used to write anything on the stage, it is also used in text
animations. Its shortcut key is T
Line Tool: Line tool is used in drawing different types of lines like straight, curved etc. Its
shortcut key is N.
Shape Tool: The shape tool has a number of shapes that can be used to draw circles,
rectangles, ovals, polygons etc
Pencil Tool: Pencil is used to draw freehand lines, it is mostly used in the frame by frame
animations when each and every object is drawn again and again.
Brush Tool: Brush tool is used to draw freehand strokes, it is like a pencil tool and is also
used in the frame by frame animations.
Paint bucket tool: Paint bucket tool is used to fill any shape with the desired colour. Its
shortcut key is K.
Eraser Tool: Eraser tool is used to erase anything on the stage. The size of the eraser can
be changed to small or large. Its shortcut key is E.

6. Explain movieclip and button in flash 8

MovieClip is a symbol that contains its own independent timeline, allowing for complex
animations and interactivity, and it's a key element for controlling content with
ActionScript.
A button symbol is a reusable, interactive element that can respond to user actions like
mouse clicks and rollovers. A special type of symbol that allows you to create interactive
buttons with four states: Up, Over, Down, and Hit, which define the button's appearance
and active area.
Explain the following
Timeline: the timeline panel, located at the top center of the Flash window, organizes and
controls content over time using layers and frames, allowing you to create animations and
movies.
Tween: Tweening in animation is a short for inbetweening, and it's the process of
generating images that go between keyframes. Keyframes are the images at the beginning
and end of a smooth transition. For example, an animated character could appear to jump
from one point to another.
Motion: Motion tween is a type of animation that uses symbols to create movement, size
and rotation changes, fades, and color effects. Classic tween refers to tweening in Flash CS3
and earlier, and is maintained in Animate primarily for transition purposes. Motion tween
and Classic tween animations.
Keyframe: a keyframe marks a point in the timeline where a change in an object's
properties or the appearance of a symbol occurs, allowing you to create animations by
defining the start and end points of transitions.
