2. The main purpose of an embedded computer is to control the machine.

play computer games.

Q2). Name the following devices: -

1. Explain Gaming Console and give two examples.


Ans. Gaming is so popular that machines have been developed that are dedicated to play
computer games. They are called consoles.
Examples are: Sony Play Station and Microsoft Xbox.
2. Define the following:
Ans). a) Mainframe computers – Mainframe computers are big computers with a large
memory and high speed. They have multiple CPU's. These computers are
generally used in big organisations like banks and government offices. They are
very powerful computers.
b) Super computers – Supercomputers are the world's largest and fastest
computers. They can process a huge amount of data within seconds. They have
multiple CPUs and GPUs. They are used in many areas like in weather forecasting,
defence and space research
3. Explain Embedded computers.
Ans). Embedded console is a small computer fixed inside a machine to perform a particular
task. It is designed to do some specific tasks rather than be a general purpose
computer used for multiple tasks. The main purpose of an embedded computer is to
control machine. It does not look like a desktop computer but contains all the
elements that are essential for any computer.
