SCOPE OF WORK
This project involves the construction of an elevated water tower with a capacity
of 3000litres and the installation of a plumbing system to supply water to a
standpipe located outside the site office. The key tasks include:
1. Site Preparation & Foundation Works – Site clearing, excavation, and concrete foundation
construction.
2. Water Tower Construction – Erection of structural support, platform, and installation of the
elevated water tank.
3. Plumbing Works – Laying pipelines, installing pumps, and fitting necessary valves.
4. Testing & Commissioning – System checks, leak detection, pressure testing, and final
adjustments.
5. Finalization & Handover – Painting, labeling, documentation, and training on system
operation.
ANTICIPATED TIME FOR COMPLETION
The total duration for completion of the works is 18 days, assuming favorable
conditions and efficient resource allocation.
ASSUMPTIONS
1. Site Accessibility – The site is easily accessible, and materials can be delivered without
delays.
2. Weather Conditions – Favorable weather conditions are assumed, with no major disruptions
due to rain or extreme weather.
3. Labor Availability – Skilled labor, including masons, welders, and plumbers, is readily
available.
4. Regulatory Approvals – All necessary permits and approvals have been obtained before
construction begins.
5. Foundation Soil – Soil is stable and requires standard excavation and reinforcement without
additional treatment.
6. Tower Design – The tower is a standard steel or reinforced concrete structure, designed for a
single elevated water tank.
7. Tank Type – A prefabricated steel tank is used to minimize installation time.
8. Curing Time – Rapid-curing concrete is used for foundation and structural elements to
reduce construction time.
9. Pipe Material – HDPE or GI pipes are used for durability and ease of installation.
10. Trenching Conditions – Excavation for pipeline installation does not encounter rock or other
obstructions.
11. Pump Installation – The pump is pre-selected and compatible with the system, avoiding
delays.
12. Testing & Commissioning – The system is tested under normal operating conditions without
the need for major modifications.

QUALITY ASSURANCE & TESTING
PROCEDURES
1. Material Inspection – Ensuring all materials meet required standards.
2. Structural Testing – Checking load-bearing capacity and integrity of the tower.
3. Leakage & Pressure Testing – Ensuring plumbing systems are leak-free and maintain
required pressure levels.
4. Pump Efficiency Testing – Verifying the pump's flow rate and operational efficiency.
5. Final Commissioning – Conducting a full operational test before handover.
SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS
1. PPE Compliance – All workers must wear helmets, gloves, and safety boots.
2. Working at Heights – Proper scaffolding and harnesses must be used.
3. Excavation Safety – Trenches must be shored and flagged to prevent collapses.
4. Electrical & Pump Safety – Proper grounding and waterproof connections must be ensured.
5. Emergency Preparedness – First aid kits and fire extinguishers must be available on-site.
FINALIZATION & HANDOVER PROCESS
1. Final Inspection – Conducted with the client to verify project completion.
2. Training & Documentation – Providing operational guidelines for water system
management.
3. Handover Meeting – Official project transfer to the client.
