Accomplishments Report on Mental Health


S.Y. 2024-2025

I. Program Overview
This report summarizes the accomplishments of the “Happy Hearts”
program, a school-based initiative designed to promote emotional well-
being and resilience among Abo-Bukal students in grade 1-6. This
program focused of teaching coping skills, promoting self-awareness,
and fostering positive social-emotional learning.

II. Key Program Components


 Classroom-based social-emotional learning ( SEL) lessons
 Mindfulness and relaxation exercises
 Group counselling sessions
 Parent workshops on supporting children’s mental health
 Individual counselling

III. Accomplishments and Outcomes


 Improved Self-Regulation: Following the implementation of SEL
lessons, teachers reported a significant decrease in disruptive
behaviors across the participating classrooms. Specifically incidents
of classroom disruptions decreased by 80% as measured by teacher
observation logs.
 Increased Emotional Awareness: Students demonstrated
increased ability to identify the label their emotions through pre and
post program assessment. The average score increased from 70%
to 87%.
 Enhanced Coping Skills: Students effectively utilized newly
learned coping mechanism during stressful situations, as observed
by teachers and guidance counselor.
 Improved Peer Relationship: Observation and teacher reports
suggest an improvement in peer interactions, with a noticeable
increase in positive social interactions and decrease in bullying
incidents.
 Increased Parental Engagement: 75 parents actively
participated in the parent workshops, indicating increased,
awareness and engagement in supporting their children’s mental
health.

The “Happy Hearts” program has demonstrated significant success
in improving the mental health and well-being of elementary students.
This program positive impact on self-regulation, emotional awareness,
coping skills and peer relationships highlights the importance of
integrating social-emotional learning into the school curriculum.
Continued investment in such programs in crucial for fostering a
supportive and nurturing school environment.
