IV. PROCEDURES TEACHER’S ACTIVITY STUDENTS ACITIVITY
PRELIMINARIES Prayer and greetings
Lets all stand for our prayer, Mrs. Claveria ( Prayer)
please lead the prayer.
Amen.
Good afternoon, Class! Good afternoon sir !
Before you take your seat, kindly pick up the
pieces of paper under your chair. (Students will pick up)
You may now take your sit
Thank you sir
Now lets check the attendance. Very good no
one is absent
let us have first a short activity to introduce our Yes sir !
lesson. Are you guys ready?
A. ELICIT Brainstorm
Instructions: I’m going to put here a
freedom wall and at the center is the
word “biology” and “organization”.
For three minutes I want you to come
in front and write down all the words
related to that. Let’s go class.
B. ENGAGE Now from the activity, anyone who
would like to share his insights or
ideas?
Sir the words seem to point out about
levels of biological organization which
Yes Mr. Sena begins with cells up to our planet.
Correct!
Those words are indeed about the
biological organization. This afternoon
let’s find out more about it.
C. EXPLORE
Let us now watch a short video and we
will answer some guide questions right
after.
Video Analysis!

Guide Questions:
What is biological organization?
What are the levels of biological
organization?
Give an example of each levels of
biological organization.
Now after watching the video, let us
answer the guide questions
For question no. 1, yes Mr. Redoma
you can answer
Sir from the video the biological
organization refers to the hierarchy of
Exactly, correct! Give him 3 claps structures and systems within living
organisms.
For number 2, yes Ms. Robles
Indeed that is correct! Give her 3 claps Sir according to the video the levels of
biological organization are:
1. Atoms and molecules
2. Cells
3. Tissues
4. Organs
5. Organ systems
6. Organisms
7. Populations
8. Communities
9. Ecosystems
Last number, yes. Ms. Claveria 10. Biosphere
Absolutely! Give her 3 claps Sir to name some examples we have:
1. Atoms and molecules: DNA
molecule
2. Cells: Red blood cell
3. Tissues: Muscle tissue
4. Organs: Heart
5. Organ systems: Circulatory system
6. Organisms: Human
7. Populations: Herd of elephants
8. Communities: Coral reef community
Very good class, let’s read the 9. Ecosystems: Tropical rainforest
Objectives of our lesson ecosystem
10. Biosphere: Earth
Now let us proceed to the heart of our
discussion (CLASS READING OF OBJECTIVES)
D. EXPLAIN Let’s Explore and Analyze
Discussion of Levels of Biological
Organization
1. Atoms and Molecules: At the
most basic level, living
organisms are composed of
atoms and molecules. These
include elements like carbon,
hydrogen, oxygen, and
nitrogen, which combine to
form molecules such as DNA,
proteins, and carbohydrates.
2. Cells: Cells are the smallest
structural and functional units
of living organisms. They carry
out essential processes
necessary for life, such as
metabolism, growth, and
reproduction. Examples include
red blood cells, nerve cells, and
muscle cells.
(STUDENTS LISTENING))
3. Tissues: Tissues are groups of
similar cells that work together
to perform a specific function.
Examples include muscle
tissue, nervous tissue, and
epithelial tissue.
4. Organs: Organs are composed
of two or more different types
of tissues that work together to
perform a particular function or
functions. Examples include
the heart, lungs, brain, and
liver.
5. Organ Systems: Organ systems
are groups of organs that work
together to perform specific
functions necessary for the
survival of the organism.
Examples include the
circulatory system, respiratory
system, digestive system, and
nervous system.
6. Organisms: Organisms are
individual living beings capable
of carrying out all life
processes. Examples range
from single-celled organisms
like bacteria to complex
multicellular organisms like
plants, animals, and fungi.
7. Populations: Populations
consist of groups of individuals
of the same species living in
the same area and interacting
with one another. Examples
include a population of deer in
a forest or a population of fish
in a lake.
8. Communities: Communities are
composed of populations of
different species interacting
with one another within a
particular habitat or
ecosystem. Examples include a
coral reef community, a desert
community, or a forest
community.
9. Ecosystems: Ecosystems
encompass all living organisms
in a particular area and the
nonliving components of their
environment, such as soil,
water, and climate. Examples
include tropical rainforests,
grasslands, and freshwater
lakes.
10. Biosphere: The biosphere is the
highest level of biological
organization and includes all
ecosystems on Earth where life
exists. It encompasses the
interactions between living
organisms and their physical
environment, including the
atmosphere, hydrosphere, and
lithosphere.
Now class, do you have any
questions?
Very good, let us have a group
activities of our lesson
None sir !
E. ELABORATE Group Activity
Instructions: Group the class in to
three groups. Each group has an
activity for collaborative and
cooperative learning. The members
of each group are composed of
leader, secretary, and the reporter
standard to be followed and
distribute the materials needed by
each group.
Each group will be given a chance
to choose among the following
activities:
Poem
Role Play
Graphic Organizer
Diagram/Model
Task1: Make a short poem about (STUDENTS WILL DO THE ACTIVITY
levels of biological organization FOR 10 MINUTES AND PRESENT IT.)
Task 2: Demonstrate how we use the
knowledge of biological organization
in everyday life
Task 3: Create a graphic organizer
that will includes the levels of
biological organization and some
examples
(STUDENTS CLAPS)
Congratulations everyone you all
have a great presentations! Give
yourself ‘Youre the Best Clap'
Now ready yourself for a short quiz.
G. EVALUATE Quiz
Direction: Read the question
carefully and choose the letter of the
correct answer.

the highest level of biological FOR 5 MINUTES)
organization?

I would like to congratulate everyone
for passing the exam give yourself a
round of applause
H. EXTEND Assignment
For your assignment, make an
advance reading about the symbiotic
relationship between organisms in
the environment
( Prayer)
Before we end our class today, let us
pray, Mr. Redoma lead the prayer Amen
Thank you sir ! Good bye sir !
That’s all for today class! Good bye!
