4. First Aid Measures

General information
Remove contaminated soaked clothing immediately and dispose of safely. Symptoms
of poisoning any may not occur for many hours, therefore keep under
medical supervision for at least 48 hours.
Seek medical treatment immediately.
In case of stronger and long effects, specially on skin and respiratory tract, medical
treatment is necessary.

In case of inhalation remove the casualty into fresh air and seek medical

advice. In case of inhalation of mist seek medical advice. Refer


for medical treatment.

In case of skin contact


After contact with skin, with calcium gluconate-gel give subsequent treatment.
In case of contact with skin wash off with water.
Immediate medical treatment necessary, as untreated burns can result in slow-healing wounds.

In case of eye contact


Eye rinsing with water carefully while protecting unhurt eye. Refer to medical treatment.

In case of ingestion
Refer to medical treatment.
If swallowed seek medical advice immediately and show the doctor packing or label.
If swallowed by mistake drink plenty of water and seek medical treatment.

Treatment ( Advice to doctor )


In the event of pulmonary irritation treat initially with dexamethasone metered-dose aerosol.
If swallowed, flush stomach.
Treatment of convulsions by Diazepam intravenous and Calcium gluconate ( 10 % ).
Treat with calcium gluconate – solution.
Keep under medical supervision for at least 48 hours.

5. Fire-Fighting Measures

Suitable extinguishing material

Special exposure hazards arising from the substance, combustible products or resulting gases
in fires, hazardous combustion gases are formed : Nitrogen oxides ( Nox )

Special protective equipment for firefighters


Use breathing apparatus with independent air supply.
Fire-fighting operations, rescue and clearing work under effect of combustion and smoulder gases just
may be done with breathing apparatus.

Cool the endangerey containers with water spray jet.
Fire residues and contaminated firefighting water must be disposed in accordance with the local

6. Accidental Release Measures

Personal precautions
Remove persons to safety.

Personal protection by wearing close-fitting protective clothing and breathing


apparatus. Keep people away and stay on the upwind side. Use
personal protective clothing. Use breathing apparatus if exposed to
vapours / dust / aerosol. Wear acid-resistent boots.

Environment precautions
Do not seep away runed out product into ground or body of water.
Do not discharge into the drains/ surface waters / ground water. Collect
effluent.

Methods for cleaning up/taking up


Dilute with plenty of water.
Do not use organic absorbent material.
Take up with absorbent material (e.g. acid binder ).
Neutralize with sodium carbonate or slaked lime.
Cleaning measures with respiratory protection.
After taking up the material dispose according to regulation.

7. Handling and Storage

Advice on safe handling


Avoid formation of aerosols.
While spraying wear respiratory protection.
Allow for sucking off.
Use only acid-proof equipment.
Extraction in situ required.
Take the usual precautions when handling with chemicals.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion


The product is not combustible, but supports burning.
Cover extinguished scene of the fire with 10% copper sulphate or sodium carbonate solution. If
necessary add surfactants.

Requirements for storage rooms and vessels


Keep in closed original container.
Use container that resist to strong acids.
Prevent penetration into the ground. Use
polythene containers.
