Baker Models M™,F™,K™ and E™
Lock Subassemblies
Introduction
The Models M™, F™, K™ and E™ Lock Sub-
assemblies are mechanical devices used to posi-
tion and secure wireline retrievable, downhole
equipment in appropriate type nipples, which are
located in a tubing string in a well. These locks pro-
vide very large flow areas through internal fishing
necks and are ideal for use in high-volume comple-
tions with velocity or surface controlled safety
valves. They incorporate a latch with collet-type
locking fingers to prevent upward movement and
No-Go shoulders to prevent downward movement.
Top No-Go
The Models M and F Top No-Go Lock Subas-
semblies are for use in a Model F or J™ Seating
Nipple or a Model L™ Sliding Sleeve. The F Lock
is basically a Model “M” Lock Subassembly less
the packing unit and packing mandrel.
Bottom No-Go
The Model E Bottom No-Go Lock Subassembly
is for use in a Model R™ Bottom No-Go Non-Port-
ed Seating Nipple or a Model N Bottom No-Go
Ported Seating Nipple. The Model K is a Bottom
No-Go Lock used in a Model R Seating Nipple
only. The E Lock is basically a Model K Lock Sub-
assembly less the packing unit and packing man-
drel.
