IX. September 2003 to December 2015: Appointed by the UN Security
Council as Chief Prosecutor, United Nations International Criminal
Tribunal for Rwanda (UNICTR) and Under Secretary General of the
United Nations. Responsible for the investigation and prosecution of
those who played a leading role in the Rwanda genocide of 1994.
X. March 2012 to February 2016: Appointed by the UN Security Council
as Chief Prosecutor of the International Residual Mechanism for
Criminal Tribunals (MICT) responsible for the residual prosecutorial
work of both the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for
the former Yugoslavia (UNICTY) and the United Nations
International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (UNICTR).
XI. June to December 2015: Member, UN Panel to investigate UN
response to Allegations of Sexual Abuse by Peacekeepers in Central
African Republic in 2015.

2020 – 2021. (a) Member, Panel of Eminent Africans(5) tasked by Africa
Union (AU) to prepare a ranked pool of candidates suitable
for appointment to senior leadership of the African Union;
(b) Member of 3 man Panel to Review allegation of
misconduct against the President of the African
Development Bank (Afdb); and
(c) Member of Group of Independent Experts selected by the
Assembly of States Parties to the Rome Statute to carry out a
review of the functioning of the International Criminal Court
(ICC).
Chief Justice of the Gambia – February 2017 to date- As such I presided
over the Supreme Court the final Court in The Gambia responsible for the
management of the Judiciary, preside over the Judicial Service Commission for
appointment of all judicial officers, preside over the General Legal Council for
the regulation of the Bar i.e. the lawyers etc.

Gambia (CRG).
