1. Job Purpose
Overview:
The Manager – EXIM will oversee and manage all export and import activities,
ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, optimizing logistics, and
maintaining cost efficiency. The role involves coordinating with customs authorities,
freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth international trade
operations.
2. Key Responsibilities
Export & Import Operations Management:
Manage end-to-end import and export processes, including documentation, logistics,
and customs clearance.
Ensure timely shipment of goods and coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping
lines, and customs agents.
Maintain records of all import-export transactions for audit and compliance purposes.
Regulatory Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure compliance with DGFT (Directorate General of Foreign Trade), Customs,
FEMA, and EXIM policies.
Handle LC (Letter of Credit), Bill of Lading (BL), Packing List, Commercial
Invoice, Bill of Entry, and other shipping documents.
Stay updated on duty structures, exemptions, and incentives like MEIS/RODTEP
for exports.
Cost Optimization & Vendor Coordination:
Negotiate freight rates with shipping and logistics service providers to optimize
costs.
Monitor import duties, tariffs, and currency fluctuations to minimize landed costs.
Identify and develop alternative logistics solutions for better efficiency.
Customs & Licensing Management:
Obtain and renew necessary import-export licenses, EPCG (Export Promotion
Capital Goods) schemes, and advance licenses.
Liaise with customs authorities for smooth clearance and resolve any regulatory
issues.
Coordination with Internal Teams:
Work closely with the procurement, sales, finance, and warehouse teams to align
EXIM operations with business goals.
Provide guidance on trade policies, restrictions, and new developments impacting
international trade.
Risk Management & Troubleshooting:
Identify risks in the EXIM process and take proactive steps to mitigate them.
Address delays, damages, or disputes in shipping and customs procedures.
3. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in International Business, Supply
Education:
Chain, Logistics, or a related field
10 years of experience in Export-Import management, preferably
Experience:
in a manufacturing or engineering industry.
Strong knowledge of Indian EXIM policies, DGFT guidelines,
