*The UNOFFICIAL Net64 Archives*

This folder contains every major version of Net64 (AKA Super Mario 64 Online)
it also has everything you need to play including the client, emulators,
and FAQs from the official Discord server. SM64 online allows up to 24 players to
play Mario 64 together online and was made by MelonSpeedruns (networking) and Kaze
Emanuar (SM64 ASM). Shortly after it's release, the game got DMCA'd for copyright and was
forced to rebrand as Net64. Ever since then, the client has been maintained by Tarnadas over
on his GitHub: https://github.com/Tarnadas/net64plus

*NOTE: the Capture The Flag rom is broken and cannot support online play*

1.1.3 and 2.0 both have quick guides on how to setup as soon as you start the application,
also the FAQs can help troubleshoot

Brief Version History

~ 2.2 ~
Combined the server application with the client for easier hosting and updated the layout.

~ 2.0 - 2.1 ~
includes:
- full ROM hack support
- New gamemodes
- Star syncing
- Kirby, Knuckles, Sonic, and Goomba added as characters:
● Kirby - slow, floaty, can jump 6x
● Knuckles - can glide and climb (hold A), but has half the health
● Sonic - Runs fast and can spindash (Z+B), uses coins as health
● Goomba - can't jump
To play, you need to use PJ64 Memory Mod in order to get the require 16MB of RAM,
no other emulator will work, and a 64-bit computer, (there's also a 32bit version included but it’s
not that great)
The FAQ explains a lot, but the important thing is to NOT change the graphics plugin.
The version included in here has a special graphics that was made specifically for
Net64 2.0, it's the only plugin that can read 16MB of RAM
~ 1.1.3 (Net64+) ~

An updated version of the first release and also shows chat in-game
(2.0 was supposed to have this, but didn't work and probably won't be fixed)
Should be compatible with either PJ64 1.7 or PJ64 2.3.2
Character:
● Mario - basic abilities
● Luigi - Jumps a little bit higher
● Peach - can hover(hold A midair)
● Toad - bup
● Yoshi - Flutter jump (hold A midair), can't wall jump
● Rosalina - can do a spin hover (B in midair)
● Waluigi - double jump (press A twice) but takes twice the damage
● Wario - Deals twice as much damage (useful for PvP)

● To get rid of the popup window in PJ64 2.3.2 the code is:
"thank you from project64"

~ Older Builds ~
[Net64+ 0.5]
- The last version to be based off the original client before they switch to a better looking
GUI
[SM64 Online]

- The first client, allows for easy server hosting at a click of a button,
The version here include:
● 1.0 - First ever release
● 1.1 - Bugged
● 1.2
● 1.2 - Modified (Windows XP support edition)
● 1.3 - Bugged
● 1.3.1 hotfix
Content Information
Plugins
- Contains the GFX plugin needed to play 2.0 and a better input plugin. Any plugin will
work fine for PJ64, it’s just the graphics plugin that you’re not allowed to change.

Emotes
- The image files used as emotes on the original Discord server. Also contains the
original character sheet used for the first set of emotes, including some unused ones.

Legacy Builds
- Contains the official releases before Net64. The two most important ones are SM64
Online 1.3.1 and Net64 0.5.
● Minor model changes: changes the color of Toad and Yoshi, but is only visible to
you.
● Net64 Hack Collection: The only way to offer ROM hack compatibility was to
remove certain patch files out of the “resources” folder. This collection contains
already pre configured clients so you won’t have to alter anything, just make sure
to follow the included README.
● Official releases:
- 1.0 - First ever release
- 1.1 - Bugged
- 1.2
- 1.2 - Modified (Windows XP support edition)
