Q1. What is grooming? (Pass)
Ans. Grooming is the art of self-presentation and is the sum total of person’s appearance
and his attitude as well as a projection of his/her personality.
Q2. Classify Grooming? (Pass)
Ans. It is the process of making yourself looks neat and attractive.
Grooming thus consists of two aspects.

Meta physical- Meta physical grooming consists of projecting certain attributes of
one’s personality. One must appear poised, elegant, confident and easy going.
Physical- Physical grooming consists of your appearance, which is categorized by the
quality of your skin, hair, personal hygiene, and sense of dressing, make-up,
etiquette etc.

Ans. 1) Normal skin- Has an even tone, soft and a smooth texture. Normal skin is not too dry
not to oily.
2) dry skin- Dry and flaky skin is a common complaint in the winter time. Cold, dry winter air
sucks the life out of silky, smooth skin.
3)Oily skin- Oily skin suffers the most time during their puberty and even in later years, this
kind of skin is sure to trap dirt due to the oil content and leads to the formation of
whiteheads, blackheads, pimples and so forth.
4) Combination skin- Combination skin occurs when two or more different skin types occur
on your face at the same time.

Ans. Causes of acne- Hormone changes, Genetic, Puberty, Menstrual periods, Stress
Causes of dark circles- Lack of sleep, Dehydration, Aging, Smoking, and Dermatitis
Remedies for acne- Diet, CTM
Remedies for dark circles- Cold compress, Cold tea bags.
Q7. What are the types of hair? Highlight the causes of dandruff and provide 02 remedies?

Ans. 1) Dry hair- Dry hair is hair that does not have enough moisture and oil to maintain its
normal sheen and texture.
Types of dry hair- Rough hair, dull hair, Frizzy hair, Brittle hair, damaged hair
2) Oily hair- Sebaceous gland produces excess oil, making your hair greasy. If you have oily
skin, then you’re more likely to have oily hair.
3) Normal hair - Normal hair meaning like not too oily or to dry.
4) Combination hair- The scalp and hair roots will have oily feel, but the hair ends will be
appear dry and split.
Causes of Dandruff- Unclean habits, Dry skin, Stress and emotional problems, hard
shampoos & sensitivity to hair care products.
Remedies- Use anti-dandruff shampoo, Neem oil for anti-fungal treatment of dandruff

Q8. What are the Do’s and Don’ts of Personal hygiene and Grooming Hygiene? (Merit)
Ans. Grooming hygiene-
Clothes and shoes- Do ensure that your shoes are shined and cleaned. Your clothing should
be neatly and pressed
Don’t wear clothes that are ill-fitting or shoes that are difficult to walk in.
Hair- Do pay a little extra attention to your hair. Make sure that it is neatly combed and
brushed away from your face.
Don’t wear your hair wet to an interview even if you tie it back This may give the impression
that you were in hurry or didn’t take time to properly prepare.
Skin care- Wash your face and use a gentle scrub to exfoliate skin
Don’t use these products untested right. Try them in advance to make sure they don’t cause
irritation or redness.
Makeup- Do wear makeup that is light and professional. Lips should look healthy and
moisturized.
Don’t choose bold makeup in unconventional colours.
Personal scent- Do brush and floss you teeth to ensure you have fresh breath. Shower and
use deodorant, but use products with little or no fragrance.
Don’t use heavy perfumes or colognes.
Personal hygiene-
Bath- Have shower daily. Use shower gel than soap as it will not let your skin dry.
Oil- Oil your hair regularly and massage your scalp to prevent hair-fall.
Toiletries- Do not share or borrow your toiletries.
Facial hair- Women should wax or bleach there facial hair and men if they have moustache
and beard shave it off.

Ans. One of the main reasons professionalism is important for job candidates is that
the first impression the hiring manager has of you affects the interview.

competent and capable of doing the job.
Someone who acts professionally typically he has a right to be at the interview and
deserves the job.
Professionalism shouldn’t just begin with the hiring manager. You should act
professionally from the moment you arrive; including the way you treat the receptionist.
Speaking politely and with poise shows your ability to communicate professionally.
