1. You have learned that making meaning is the primary goal of the K to 12 English Curriculum.
Looking into the components of the curriculum, what do you think are some of the challenges?
• In my view, Some challenges in achieving the goal of making meaning in the K to 12 English
Curriculum may include varied student abilities, limited resources, diverse learning styles, and
the need for effective teacher training to facilitate meaningful comprehension and
communication skills development.
2. Design an assessment strategy that would help learners demonstrate their language usa and
meaning-making though the following elements of effective language use. Explain how you
suggested strategies couls enable the learners to demonstrate meaning-making?
• Assessment strategies that i will include to help learners demonstrate their language and
meaning - making ; First one is Reading comprehension By analyzing their comprehension, we can assess
their capacity to derive meaning from texts, demonstrating effective language use. Second is the Writing
skills, Writing tasks assess not only language usage but also the ability to articulate thoughts,
demonstrating a deeper understanding of concepts. Third is oral communicaty, Through verbal
expression, students showcase their comprehension and ability to convey meaning effectively in spoken
language. fourth one is the crutical thingking , By assessing critical thinking, we gauge their capacity to
make meaning by connecting and evaluating information within a given context. Lastly collaborative
project, Collaborative projects encourage students to share perspectives, fostering a richer
understanding of content and demonstrating meaningful engagement with the material.
