1. What is definition describe about Traffic Table?
Traffic Table is a profile template that specify bandwidth both download and upload traffic on
ONT. We can use it to limit bandwidth on UNI port (ONT LAN port). Traffic Table used to control
traffic outbound and inbound on ONT which is configure within service-port.
2. What is DBA-Profile? definition and it function.
DBA-profile (Dynamic Bandwidth Assingment) is a profile template that specify or control the
upstream traffic (upload from ONT) . DBA-profile is used to bound with TCONT in line-profile,
normally we still need to configure the inbound and outbound traffic because DBA-profile control
only upload traffic from ONT that mean no limitation on download traffic.
3. What is TCONT and it function?
TCONT (Traffic Container) that carry upstream traffic (traffic upload from ONT). TCONT is
bounded to DBA-profile.
4. What is GEM Port and is function?
GEM (GPON Encapsulated Method) is a transport layer to carry multiple transport protocol. EX:
TDM, ATM, Ethernet. Normally one GEM port-id can used with one service, One user vlan is to
map one GEM port usually
5. What is ONT ID?
ONT ID is the ONT index, usually Huawei OLT for one PON have 128 ONT maximum (0-127).
The ONT ID is unique under one PON interface.
6. What is user VLAN (CVLAN) and it description?
User VLAN or customer VLAN (CVLAN) is used to map the service type of the user ’side. One
user vlan is to configured for one port of ONU.
7. What is Service VLAN (SVLAN) and it description?
Service VLAN (SVLAN) represent different kinds of service which are used in upper-layer
network
A kind of vlan maps one kind of service.
8. What is ont-lineprofile and it description?
ont-lineprofile is a profile template used to contain TCONT, GEM & GEM mappin. A line profile
describes the binding between the T-CONT and the DBA profile, the QoS mode of the traffic
stream, and the mapping between the GEM port and the ONT-side service.
9. What is service profile or srv-profile and is function?
Service profile or srv-profile is a profile template used to limitation MAC address on the ONT
side.
A service profile provides the service configuration channel for the ONT that is managed through
OMCI. A service profile describes the ability of the ONT，such as type of the port ，quantity of the
port etc.
10. What is service port and it function?
Service port is service to map between SVLAN and CVLAN. Service port creat a connection
between the traffic of user’side (CVLAN)and the traffic of upper-layer network (SVLAN). We
also used service port to limit bandwidth inbound and outbound traffic.
12. How many type of DBA-profile and what is deference?
A DBA profile describes the GPON traffic parameters. A T-CONT is bound to a DBA profile for
dynamic bandwidth allocation, improving the upstream bandwidth usage rate.
DBA-profile have 5 TYPE kind of bandwidth:
type1 Fixed bandwidth //voice
type2 Assured bandwidth //voice
type3 Assured bandwidth, Maximum bandwidth
type4 Maximum bandwidth //internet service
type5 Fixed bandwidth, Assured bandwidth, Maximum bandwidth
