Nowadays,when economic is increasing, in many cities, the increasing number of private

vehicles is causing traffic congestion and air pollution. The following essay will aim to
present both causes and solutions of traffic congestion and air pollution.
There are several causes of traffic congestion and air pollution. Firstly, one cause of
traffic congestion and air pollution is urbanization and population grwoth. In fact, with
the hope off improving life, people who lived in rural or countryside begin move to cities
or suburbs, so incresed population density suddenly lead to higher demand for
transportation. Secondly, another cause of traffic congestion and air pollution is
insufficient public transportation infrastructure because public transport is only available
in certain places and certain times, especially, in the suburbs or coutryside it is almost no.
Lack of efficient, reliable and inadequate coverage and frequency of pulic transport.
Finally, one more causes of traffic congestion and air pollution is awareness of people.
For example, people always think that private cars are a symbol of wealth and fortunate,
so they try to have a car to prove their wealth. The more rising income levels, the more
rising private car on the streets.
There are several solutions of traffic congestion and air pollution. Firstly, one solution of
traffic congestion and air pollution is enhancement of public transpor. Government
should invest more in efficent transit systems, they can build more bus station, subways
station and encourage commuter use them by discounts, subsidies and suitable ticket cost.
Secondly, another solution of traffic congestion and air pollution is promotion of
alternative transportation. In develop countries, besides car or public transport, in somes
places, alternative transportation are developing. Bicycles is the best choice for people to
move and do exercise everyday. Moreover, they built a lots of bike lanes for this purpose.
Finally, one more solution of traffic congestion and air pollution is public awareness
campaigns. For example, school should organize some lesson to teach and educate
students or citizens about the benefits of reduced vehicle use or importance of
environment. One moving of one people can lead to lots of moving of people, from that
promote the environmental and personal health.
In conclusion, there are various causes and solutions of traffic congestion and air
pollution but there are measures that can be taken to deal with the problems clearly.
