Sustainable Learning
by: May Crisette L. Magayon

When the school year officially opened on October 5, 2020, pupils experienced
learning in the new normal. Several schools adapted the printed modular distance learning
modality. Pupils are given printed modules with lessons to be studied and activities to be
answered. Numerous reams of papers are being used to print and reproduce learning
modules. Since papers are produced from wood obtained from trees, they should be used
wisely and efficiently so that lesser trees will be cut, and more trees will be conserved.

As a fifth-grade pupil, how can you help in saving papers and conserving trees?

_____ 1. Third, the pages of learning modules should not be folded nor torn in any way.

_____ 2. Finally, modules should be kept in a dry and safe place after use.

_____ 3. To conserve paper, learning modules should primarily be well taken care of.

_____ 4. Fourth, pages should be turned gently and carefully with clean and dry hands.

Writing Paragraphs Showing

Problem-Solution Relationship

What is a paragraph?
A paragraph is composed of closely related sentences that develop a single topic.

A paragraph has three main parts: the introduction, body and conclusion.

or other related literary forms that may catch readers’ attention.

The body develops the idea or suggests possible solutions to the problem presented
in the introduction. This provides readers with more details about the topic such as facts
and examples. It also presents processes or procedures which may be taken to address
the problem.

The last part of the paragraph is the conclusion. This part presents the final thought
about the topic or the call to action to solve the problem.

Let us read and study the parts of the paragraph below.
