DEFINITION

Floorball or unihockey, also known as indoor or school hockey, is a team sport that has been
developed in Sweden, where it has been played since the mid-70s.

The objective of the game is to get a plastic ball into the opponent's goal using a stick or light
stick. It's a fast-paced game, and it's popular as a competitive sport, as well as for maintaining
fitness.

THE PITCH

Floorball is played in a rectangular space whose measurements must be 35 to 45 m long and

18 to 22 m wide. 40 x 20 m is recommended, which is what a futsal or handball field usually
measures.

Inside the field of play there is a goal on each end line, whose measurements will be 160 cm.
wide by 115 cm. high and 65 cm. deep. The goal area must measure 5 m. wide by 4 m. long,
from the rear limit of the goal, and is characterized by the fact that no player can enter except
the goalkeeper.

The entire court is surrounded by a wall 50 cm high, called a rink with which you can play.

TEAMS AND NUMBER OF PLAYERS

Each team is allowed to use a maximum of 17 players per match, of which 6 can be on the
pitch at the same time (5 outfield players and 1 goalkeeper). When the referee blows the
whistle for the start of the game, there must be a minimum of five players from each team on
the field of play.

DURATION OF THE MATCH

The match lasts for three halves of 20 minutes, with a break of 5 minutes between each half, in
which the field is changed. If a match ends in a draw and there must be a winner (in the case of
a final or qualification):

1. An extension of 15 minutes will be made. 2. If the tie continues, penalties will be taken, 5 in
a row for one team and then 5 for the other team. 3. If the tie is still in place, penalties will be
taken alternately (first one and then the other) until the tiebreaker is achieved.

PENALTIES AND SUSPENSIONS

Players can be sanctioned with temporary or permanent expulsions for unsportsmanlike

actions or behaviour, carrying out actions that endanger opponents or for their repeated fouls.
The duration of temporary expulsions ranges from 2 to 5 minutes. (You have it indicated on
the previous folio 2 ́ and 5 )́

If a player is sent off for 2 minutes (2 minutes) he can be substituted for another but if the
player is sanctioned for 5 minutes (5 minutes), he will go to the penalty bench until he finishes
his time and cannot be replaced by another player

THE GOALKEEPER

You can wear a helmet and special equipment with protections.

It does not have a stick. You are allowed to touch and hit the ball with all parts of your body,
including your arms and head.

Can stop and hold the ball with their hands for three seconds (failure to do so will result in a
free-kick on the edge of the goal area).

If he leaves the large goal area, he will act and be considered as an outfield player but
without a stick. (You are considered to have left this area if you do not touch the area or its
lines with any part of your body.)

You can make passes with your hand, but your pass is invalid if it does not touch the ground,

ORGANIZATION OF THE GAME

KICK-OFF

It is also called STROKE IN and is performed between two players (one from each team) in the
center of the field. The rest of the players must be located at least 3m away from the two they
serve. The referee drops the ball on the field, the 2 players who make the serve or stroke in hit
3 times on the ground and play the ball.

SERVE AFTER SCORING A GOAL

Also called STROKE OFF. It is done in midfield. The ball can be played in both directions
(towards your court or towards the opponent). The players of each team must be on their
respective fields. The players of the opposing team to the one serving must be located at least
3 meters from the ball. The stroke off cannot be shot directly at goal

FREE KICK OR FREE-KICK

Also called STROKE FREE or free throw. In the event of any infringement in the game, the
referee will award a free-kick to the opposing team. The ball is placed in the place where the
foul was committed. The players of the opposing team will maintain a distance of 3 meters
from the ball. The defending team will be able to form a barrier. A goal cannot be scored as a
result of a direct free-kick. The free kicker cannot touch the ball until it has been touched by
another player

THROW-IN

When the ball leaves the court, the serve will be awarded to the team that did not throw the
ball out. The throw-in will be made from where the ball came out 1.5 m. from the sideline, but
never behind the imaginary extension of the goal line. Opponents will be placed 3 meters from
the ball, including clubs. The ball will be played with a player's suit. It will be beaten, not
dragged or lifted. The serving player may not touch the ball again until it has been touched by
another player or a player's equipment. The throw-in can go directly to goal.

NEUTRAL SERVE
Floorball Notes 2nd ESO

Also called FACE OFF. When play is stopped due to injury to a player or stepping on the ball, it
is resumed with a neutral serve or face off, in the place where the ball was when the game was
stopped (between two players, one from each team, placing the ball in the middle of two
parallel sticks whose blades or hooks must point in the direction of attack, Not being able to
touch it until the referee's signal, the other players will be placed at least 3 m. (sticks included)
from the ball, this throw-in not being able to result in a direct goal

THE PENALTY

Also called PENALTY STROKE. When an intentional or serious infringement occurs to prevent a
shot on goal or the achievement of a goal, the referee awards the penalty kick to the opposing
team. It starts from the midfield and the goalkeeper from the goal line. The player can touch
the ball as many times as he wants as long as it keeps moving forward. The other players do
not intervene in the play. The action ends when a goal is scored or is stopped or rejected
forward by the goalkeeper. If the latter commits a foul, the penalty will be replayed.

THE GOAL

A goal is scored when the entire ball crosses the goal line (under the goal). The goal cannot be
scored from Face off, Stroke in or immediately from the goal kick. A goal is also not accepted if
a player directs or kicks the ball towards goal with his body or foot. If the ball hits the crossbar
or the post and then the goalkeeper and goes into the goal, during a penalty kick, it is a goal. A
goal is not accepted if an attacking player has moved the goal from his position and the ball
enters it. But if the one who moves the goal is a defending player, if the ball goes in and
crosses the goal line, the goal is accepted.

MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT

To practice floorball, you will need some sticks and a ball or tablet (on very polished terrain).
The sticks are made of hard plastic, strong but elastic and light.

The goalkeeper plays with special protections
