Blended Learning: An Introduction

Since online learning is a rapidly growing form of

education in the world, many traditional institutions
and instructors are using it. Face-to-face instruction
and learning via the computer or online is called
Blended Learning.

Most blended-learning programs have at least one of

the four models: rotation, flex, on-demand, and virtual
enrichment. The rotation model includes four
submodels: Rotation Station, Rotation Laboratory,
Swapped Class, and Individual Rotation.

The definition of BLENDED LEARNING is a formal

education program in which a student learns at least
in part through online-learning, with some element of
student control over time, place, path, and/or pace; at
least in part in a supervised brick-and-mortar location
away from home; and the modalities along each
student's learning path within a course or subject are
connected to provide an integrated learning
experience.
