Title: Student Excels in Literary Competitions at

Tertulya ng Panitikan 2024 in Sulu

The Tertulya ng Panitikan 2024, under the theme


"Ang Panitikan at Kapayapaan" (Kata-kata sin
Lupah Sug), showcased the literary talents of
students from various schools in Sulu. The event,
held on May 04, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Sulu State
College Center for Culture and Arts, was a platform
for young writers and readers to shine.

Among the participants, Mr. Alkhaizer M. Sammah,


a student from Mindanao State University-Sulu
Laboratory High School, stood out as a champion in
writing kata-kata and secured the 3rd place in
reading kata-kata. His exceptional skills and
dedication to the art of literature impressed the
audience and judges alike.

Mr. Sammah's achievements not only reflect his


talent and hard work but also highlights the
commitment of educational institutions like MSU-
Sulu Laboratory High School in nurturing literary
excellence among their students. His success
serves as an inspiration to his peers and the
broader community, showcasing the power of
words to convey messages of peace and unity.
The Tertulya ng Panitikan 2024 provided a platform
for students like Mr. Alkhaizer M. Sammah to
showcase their creativity and passion for literature,
emphasizing the importance of promoting cultural
expression and dialogue through written and
spoken word. It was a celebration of the vibrant
literary scene in Sulu and a testament to the talent
and potential of the youth in shaping a more
harmonious society through the art of storytelling
and poetry.

MSU-Sulu LHS Celebrates Convocation and Eid

The whole day of April 21, 2024 was filled with joy
as the Mindanao State University-Sulu Laboratory
High School’s convocation ceremony smoothly
transitioned to an Eid Party which left memorable
experience for the students and faculty members.

The convocation ceremony was held in the


morning of the said date starting off with an Ayat
recitation by a member of the Supreme Student
Government (SSG) Ziyad Alhari followed by an
opening remarks by the school’s newly appointed
Faculty Secretary, Mr. Jeffrixon Lim. The academic
achievers from each grade level and section
marched proudly towards the stage upon having
their names called by the master of ceremony,
Professor Edwin M. Tantalie, for them to receive
their certificates. The ceremony ended with an
inspiring message from the school’s principal Mr.
Julhajan A. Julhan.

The students returned to their classrooms following


the formalities of the convocation ceremony to
proceed with the Eid Party that was prepared by
the students from every class by bringing foods
and decorating each rooms with ornaments. At
1:00 P.M. parlor games were hosted by the faculty
members on the field for the students to enjoy.

Mindanao State University-Sulu Laboratory High


School Celebrates Final Convocation

On May 29, 2024, the Mindanao State University-


Sulu Laboratory High School held its final
convocation to honor 131 outstanding students for
their achievements during the school year 2023-
2024. The event was held separately, with Grade 7
and 8 honorees recognized in the morning while
Grade 9 honorees in the afternoon. The
convocation took place in the school laboratory,
providing a fitting setting for this special occasion.

Led by Prof. Edwin M. Tantalie, commenced with a


sense of excitement and anticipation as 84
students from Grade 7 and 8 were acknowledged
for their remarkable accomplishments.
Furthermore, under the guidance of Mr. Abdul Mon-
Em H. Pawaki during the afternoon, 47 honorees
from Grade 9 took center stage to receive their
well-deserved recognition. Both sessions of
convocation was a culmination of the students’
efforts and achievements, highlighting their
commitment to excellence and academic success.
The mentioned event started at 9:00 A.M. with a
marching ceremony of the achievers along with
their proud parents accommodated by the opening
prayer led by an honoree, Ahmad-Naik S. Muksan,
followed by singing of the National Anthem and
MSU-Sulu Hymn, the same thing happened in the
afternoon though Mr. Alnibar Omar led this one.

The opening remarks was then conducted by


Professor Bevera-West S. Muksan, the school
registrar and the ceremony begun afterwards, the
master of ceremony, Prof. Edwin M. Tantalie called
the achievers one by one starting from Grade 7-
Flounder up to Grade 8-Ipil, the calling of achievers
was paused to hear an inspirational message
coming from our beloved principal, Mr. Julhajan A.
Julhan. In the afternoon, the opening remarks was
then conducted by Professor Edwin M. Tantalie and
Mr. Abdul Mon-Em H. Pawaki led the event as the
emcee.

As the event slowly reached its peak, a touching


slideshow from last school year’s recognition day
was shown in front of the students and parents to
give a pleasant satisfaction to each and everyone.
The occasion was closed by the High School
Secretary, Mr. Jeffrixon Lim, followed by the singing
of the MSU Hymn by the MSU officials, staffs,
students, and alumni.
