Lecture Times:
I've grouped students because the venues can't accommodate everyone, so they'll attend in
groups and alternate. I have the LEBV schedule, and if you have just registered, please
email me so that I can assign you to a group.
You need to attend TWO DOUBLE period classes per week:
First on
Monday 9h05 – 10h15 in venue (L 123_0_0002)
Monday (duplicate class) 14:25 - 15:35 (Online)
Second on
Wednesday 9h05 – 10h15 in venue (L 35_0_0005)
Wednesday (duplicate class) 14:25 – 15:35 (online)
Instructions:
It is compulsory to attend all lectures.
If you have a clash with another course, please register to do LEBV102 next
semester.
If you cannot attend a lecture, you are responsible for finding out what you have
missed, and for any consequences resulting from your absence.
Any written work which is marked will count towards the final mark.
You may not miss any assessment.
Submission of work: No late work will be accepted without a medical certificate.
Should a student be absent for an assessment, a medical certificate needs to be
emailed to the lecturer within 7 days. You will then not be penalised for your absence
and will be allowed to write a sick test.

Continuous Assessment
This module will not be examined at the end of the semester but instead you will be
assessed on course work throughout the module. Please be aware that there will be no
final exam. The pass mark for this module is 50% and there are no supplementary
tests for this module.
The final mark is made up as follows:
Test 1 10%
Test 2 45 %
Assignment 45 %

Module Content:
Communication theory, verbal and non-verbal codes, barriers to communication,
listening, audience analysis, purpose analysis, writing in professional settings, register,
report writing, meetings, curriculum vitae writing, cover letter writing and oral presentations.

Plagiarism
The department places a very high premium on the absolute honesty of every student. Any
student who is found to have copied or plagiarised any work will obtain no marks for the
work and will be referred to the University Disciplinary Committee.
