Abstract

Blockchain is a revolutionary technology where is exchanged between different entities in a

chain by using distributed software design and powerful computing. The Novel Method uses
smart contract and Ethereum blockchain for tracing and tracking crops efficiently with complete
security and business operations. The Technology terminates the requirement for an
intermediary, transaction records and trusted centralized authority. Hence, Blockchain improves
safety and efficiency by maintaining high reliability and integrity. Smart contracts are used in
the proposed system to regulate and oversee all communications and transactions between the
participants in the ecosystem of the agricultural supply chain. All transactions are preserved and
recorded in the immutable ledger of the blockchain, which is linked to a decentralized file
system called as IPFS. Data about images and locations are submitted by various supply chain
participants which are then are utilized to ensure the transparency and
traceability of the crops using IPFS.

1.Introduction

Crucial policy tool for ensuring food quality and safety because of product contamination and
its effects on public health. The current agricultural supply chain traceability strategy suffers
significantly from data fragmentation and centralized controls, which make the data susceptible
to management and modification. In order to trace items in the agricultural supply chain, it is
necessary to properly identify the origin and communicate various types of information across
the supply chain. Although information sharing throughout phases of a food supply chain may
often be traced, it is difficult and time consuming. The food supply chain's overall structure and
operation are extensive and complicated, including a wide range of stakeholders from farmers
to manufacturers to processors to end users. Given how difficult and timeconsuming it is to
identify a product's origins due to the problematically lengthy supply chain that runs from the
raw materials to the final consumer, the research community ishighly interested in the food and
agriculture supply chain.. A secure framework must be developed in order to track details about
the country of origin, farming methods, and food product safety without the aid of a third party
throughout the supply chain cycle. Recent technological advancements, such as the use of
blockchain technology, can provide a significant and practical solution for assuring agricultural
output traceability while also removing the need for a trusted centralized authority. Due to the
immutability and openness of transactions, which increases faith among involved stakeholders,
blockchain technology has become extremely popular within the supply chain and logistics
community. Blockchain technology acceptance and use can ensure payment security to sellers
while transferring vital information regarding provenance, organic or non-GMO certification,
crop yields, and more. The user programme performance environment for Ethereum
computations is called the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). A smart contract is a method that
enables you to undertake lasting and detectable trades without the requirement for a third party
using numerical authentication. This work proposes, implements, and evaluates a blockchain-
based architecture for food supply chain traceability and visibility. This work also includes
automatic revert system. If one stake holder declines the request made by the other, price paid
by the requesting stake holder is automatically reverted back to its account

 Disadvantages

1. Lack of Transparency and Traceability:

In the traditional supply chain, it's often difficult to track the origin and journey of
products. This lack of transparency can lead to fraud, counterfeiting, and difficulties
in identifying the source of contamination or quality issues..

2. Trust Issues:

Lack of trust between parties in the supply chain can lead to disputes over
transactions, payments, and quality. This can result in delays and strain relationships.

3. Inefficient Payment Processes:

Payment delays and disputes can occur due to discrepancies in records or

disagreements over quantities and quality

5.Software Requirement Specification

 Functional Requirement:

Functional requirements are those that give examples of how the system works inside and
describe how each subsystem works. It covers the job the system is supposed to execute, the
steps necessary, the information the system is supposed to keep, and the user interfaces.

 Non-Functional Requirement:

Availability: The systems should be available.

Reliability: The systems should provide accurate information.

Maintainability: The system should be built and coded in a way which is easily read-able and
maintainable. The database is automatically updated when a reservation is made or a new user
is created. Every time a new reservation or registration is made, the system need to be able to
immediately update the database without any further administrative work. This web application
will allow the user to do various things such as:

• Farmers can see the crop oooinformation from their area.

• Farmers can post their own cultivating crop information.

• This web application will ease the process of selecting good crop for cultivation.

Conclusion:

In the novel method, grains were tracked, traded, and traced without the aid of middlemen or a
single processing facility along the agricultural supply chain. The system can be used to trace
and monitor the supply chain for grains, as shown by the explanatory framework. The
components and characteristics mentioned can be utilisedto provide efficient and
decentralisedtrackabilityto any crop or product in the agricultural supply chain because they are
sufficiently generic. Even if the participants in the ecology do not trust one another, block chain
skills can help create a reliable, selforganized, exposed, and ecologically responsible farming
organization. The general approach leverages the Ethereumblockchainand smart contracts to
trace, track, and carry out successful agreements across the farming stream restriction by
eliminating middlemen and central processing facilities. In the future, the current system can be
strengthened by adding cryptography to get rid of flaws like illegal data manipulation.
Blockchainbased reward and recognition system can be developed for agriculture supply chain.
