1. What is climate change?
Climate change refers to long-term shifts in global temperatures and weather patterns,
primarily caused by human activities like burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and
industrial processes. These activities increase greenhouse gases in the atmosphere,
leading to rising temperatures, extreme weather events, and disruptions to
ecosystems. If left unaddressed, climate change can threaten food security,
biodiversity, and human livelihoods worldwide.
2. Give at least three (3) causes of climate change and explain.
- Volcano erupts, it throws out large volumes of sulfur dioxide (SO2), water vapor, dust,
and ash into the atmosphere
- The drift had an impact on the climate because it changed the physical features of the
landmass, their position and the position of water bodies.
- The OCEANS are a major component of the climate system. They cover about 71% of
the Earth and absorb about twice as much of the sun's radiation as the atmosphere or
the land surface.
3. As a student, what is your action about climate change?
As a student, I can take action against climate change by adopting sustainable habits
like reducing waste, conserving energy, and using eco-friendly transportation.
Educating others and advocating for policies that protect the environment also play a
crucial role in creating awareness and driving change. Small individual efforts, when
combined, can lead to a significant positive impact on the planet.
Note: Limit your answer to 3-5 sentence.

Activity 7
Direction: Answer each question briefly based on your objective insight and critical
thinking.
1. The pandemic impacts the psychology of sustainability, sustainable development
and the global economy in the year 2021. Despite the COVID-19 vaccine, life is still
not normal. Do you think the coronavirus pandemic will still affect us in 2023?
- Yes, the coronavirus pandemic continued to affect us in 2023. Variants
emerged, economic recovery was uneven, and mental health challenges
persisted. While vaccines helped, global disparities in access and long-term
societal shifts kept the impact ongoing
2. Is sound citizen participation the response to improve governance and
equitable sustainable development?
- Yes, sound citizen participation improves governance and sustainable
development by ensuring inclusivity, transparency, and accountability. Engaged
citizens drive policies that reflect real needs and promote long-term equity.
3. How can you achieve a sustainable development model?
- A sustainable development model requires balancing economic growth, social
equity, and environmental protection. This involves investing in renewable
energy, responsible consumption, education, and policies that prioritize long-term
well-being over short-term gains.
4. Can we add the term “political sustainability” to principles of sustainable
development?
- Yes, “political sustainability” is relevant to sustainable development. Stable
governance, ethical leadership, and long-term policy planning are crucial for
maintaining social, economic, and environmental balance over time.
