DAILY LESSON LOG IN SCIENCE GRADE 10
Second Quarter SY. 2022-2023
Teacher: Shiella S. Soriano Date:
I. OBJECTIVES
A. Contents Standard The learners demonstrate an understanding of the images formed by the different
types of mirrors and lenses.
B. Performance Standard The learners should be able to create simple electric motor.
C. Learner’s Competencies Explain the operation of a simple electric motor and generator.
(S10FE-IIj-54)
1. Cognitive* Explain the operation of a simple electric motor.
2. Psychomotor* Create a simple electric motor using off-the-shelf tools.
3. Affective* Appreciate the importance of application of electric motor.
II. CONTENT: Force, Topic: Electromagnetic Induction Sub Topic: Electric Motor
Motion and Energy
III. LEARNING RESOURCES
A. REFERENCES
1. Science 10 Teacher’s Guide Unit 2 Module 3 2. Science 10 Learner’s Material Unit 2 Module 3 page
page (SLM Module 5)
IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previews lesson or presenting the 1. Give the difference between DC generator from an AC
new lesson.(ELICIT) generator
B. Establishing a purpose to the lesson. Show objects normally found at home. List down which
(ENGAGE) has an electric motor.
*Electric fan *Helmet *Laptop
*Flat iron *Oven toaster *Vase
C. Presenting examples/instances of the new Today’s appliances and gadgets are easy to use and come
lesson. (EXPLORE) in a “plug-and-play” mode.
D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new -Discuss electric motor.
skills # 1.(EXPLAIN) -Basic principles of electric motor.
E. Discussing new concepts and practicing new - How do Electric Motors work?
skills # 2.(ELABORATE) - What are the parts of an electric motor?
- Difference between the AC Motor and the DC Motor
F. Developing Mastery (EVALUATE) Activity : “Simple Electric Motor”
Create a simple electric motor using off-the-shelf tools.
G. Finding practical application of concepts and Electric motors are extremely important in modern-day
skills in daily living. (EXTEND) life. They are used in food processors, vacuum cleaners,
dishwashers, computer printers, fax machines, video
recorders, machine tools, printing presses, automobiles,
subway systems, sewage treatment plants, and water
pumping stations, to mention only a few applications.
H. Making Generalization and Abstraction about Electric motors are anything that changes electricity into
the lesson motion, meaning electrical energy into mechanical
energy is called an electric motor. Motors work through
the principles of ELECTROMAGNETISM. If you run
electricity through a wire, it creates a magnetic field.
I. A. Evaluate Learning Compare and contrast the AC Motor and DC Motor using
the Venn diagram.
V. REMARKS
VI. REFLECTION
A. No. of learner’s who earned 80% in the
Evaluation
B. No. of learner’s who require additional
activities for remediation who scored below
80%
C. Did the remedial work? No. of learner’s who
have caught up with the lesson
D. No. of learner’s who continue to require
remediation
E. Which of my teaching strategies worked well?
Why did this worked?
F. What difficulties did I encounter which my
principal or superior can help me solve?
