TI-30XS Calculator Reference Sheet

An on-screen calculator reference sheet, similar to what appears on these two


pages, will be available to you on Test Day. However, you should understand
how to use the calculator before you take the GED® Test. Refer to the
Mathematical Reasoning Unit on pages 213–413 for information about how
to use the Texas Instruments TI-30XS MultiViewTM calculator.

To perform basic arithmetic, enter numbers and operation symbols using the
standard order of operations.

To perform calculations with powers and roots, you will use the following
keys:

Starting in 2014, test-takers will take the GED® Test on the computer. On the
computer-based test, some fill-in-the-blank questions require you to insert
mathematical symbols.

You can access the “Symbol Selector” by clicking on this icon when it
appears on the computer screen:

Choose the symbol you want, and click on Insert at the bottom of the screen.
When you are done, close the screen.
Below are the meanings of the symbols. Learn the meanings before you take
the test because only the symbols will be available to you.
