FEES BASED ON REGISTRATION AND PROGRAMMES
The University’s Academic Year is divided into two main semesters (except for special programmes in
School of Humanities & Education and the Bachelor of Science in Nursing). A person is considered to be
a student at The UWI only if he/she has registered for courses and paid all required fees for a given
semester, or has made satisfactory arrangements with the Finance Unit for the payment of fees.
A student may register either full-time or part-time. The number of courses and associated credits
determines whether the student is registered full-time (twelve (12) credits or more per semester) or
part-time (a maximum of nine (9) credits per semester).
Registration for courses is completed online via the student online portal. You are required to register
for every programme element to be undertaken for the semester, including lectures, tutorials and labs
where applicable. The online course selection process must be completed before the amount of tuition
fees payable for the semester can be generated.
CLASSIFICATION OF STUDENTS BY NATIONALITY FOR FEES
Fees payable by Antiguan and Barbudan students are based on your citizenship at the time of
registration. Students must have proof of citizenship (e.g. Birth certificate, Certificate of Naturalisation
or Passport)
Fees payable by Regional (Caribbean) Students pursuing undergraduate degrees at The University of the
West Indies are based on your country of citizenship within The UWI system.
Students who are not recognised as Regional Students are classified as International Students.
