1. INTRODUCTION
Unemployment is one of the pressing issues found in India. Many youngsters in India
still suffer to find a job that matches their profile. Development of entrepreneurship
among youth has become an important aspect of plan priorities. Specializing in asubject
does not guarantee a job in the same stream in this highly populated country. This has
made many youngsters come up with their own business plan. On the other hand,
youngsters these days are creative and passionate to start a unique business. The
policy makers, planners and developmentalagencies have realized the factthatfull
involvement of all communities in Industrial Development would ensure effective
utilization of all available labour and improve quality of life.

The educationsystem plays a critical role intheeconomicadvancementofnationssince it is

the primary developer of human resource. Almost all endogenously growth theory model
recognizes that the quality of human resources and thereby the quality of education is
vital to the economic growth process. However, the current quality of education globally,
and especiallyindeveloping economies, leaves muchto be desired. The focus is on rote
learning and the education system does not actively encourage students to think on their
own and take on responsibilities. The result is that the significance of education as a tool
for personal development is severely hampered by such a form of education. Moreover,
inmost developing economies, there are issues of large scale dropouts among school
children, especially at the secondary level, sincethey do not see any value attached to
their education in securing employment. Even if they dropout with a view to find work,
these students are ill equipped to compete for jobs inthe urbanmarket. The result is the
creationof a largeunproductivelaborforceor what economists call surplus labor.
Moreover, given the unemployment problems inmost developing countries as wellas
rising unemploymentlevels indeveloped countries in the face of globalization. The
development of entrepreneurial skills as well as knowledge and skills inventure
creationprocess prepare students for the realities oflife when they graduate. The
application of entrepreneurial competencies in daily life empowers students to learn
business and enhance their social and life skills. This viewis endorsed by several
educators who believe that entrepreneurship education plays a vital role in the economic
progress of states.
In this regards, the NIESBUD, has proposed to organize the Entrepreneurship
Awareness Programme (EAP) for the unemployed youths and students of colleges /
universities, ITIand Polytechnics. This initiative willhelp increating congenial
climateforentrepreneurshipamongwomen, unemployedyouthand students

2. OBJECTIVES
 To create the awareness about entrepreneurship and self-employment
opportunities among the youthand students.
 Tomotivatetheyouth/studentstopursueforentrepreneurshipasacareer option.
 Tochangethemindsetsandattitudesofthestudentstowardsentrepreneurship.
 Toawarethem about theGovernment Support EcoSystem availablefor setting up
the enterprises.
 To Mobilize and identifying aspiring entrepreneurs for the EDP training
programme.

4. PROGRAMMEMETHODOLOGY
The programme methodology will consist of lecture, discussions, exercises, casestudies
and assignments. The training methodology will employ a Facilitated Learning
Approach. It will be a mixof facilitator led courseswhichwillhavein-houseandpractical
activities along with self-learningsessions.

5. TARGETGROUPS
The target group for Entrepreneurship Awareness Programmes (EAP) are , unemployed
youths and students of colleges / universities, ITIand Polytechnics. A total numberof 600
participants participated in the programme.

6. DURATION

02.06.2024

7. PROGRAMMEINAUGURATIONFUNCTION
The Entrepreneurship Awareness Programmes (EAP) was online inaugurated by the
Chief Guest Mr. Shaibal Chatterjee (Sr. Lead Economic Development HUL)and Dr.
Poonam Sinha (Director) NIESBUD, Mr. P. K. Arora (Sr. Advisor) and Mr. D. K. Singh
(Chief Consultant) on30.11. 2023. He highlighted the objectives of the training
programme and stated thathow the training will benefit the students and provide them
an entrepreneurial career option for them.

8. PROGRAMME INPUTS
A well designedprogramme schedule was devised before beginning of the programme.
keeping in mind the objectives of the programme, the mainfocus of the training was to
equip the participants about entrepreneurship as a career optionforthemandtoidentify
the prospective participants for the EDP training Programme.
9. PROGRAMMEVALEDICTORYFUNCTION
The Valedictory function of Entrepreneurship Awareness Programmes (EAP) was held
on 01.06.2023 at Bijnor,Mr Lalit Kumar Gahlot Expert in Entrepreneurship Awareness
Programmes, Bijnor was the Guest of Valedictory function. He stated that these types of
Entrepreneurship Awareness Programmesmustbe organise on continuous bases in the
colleges and institutes. This will help in creating the awareness about entrepreneurship
among the students and infuture itwillhelp themto start their own enterprises. He
appreciated the initiatives taken by the government of Indiatoward
entrepreneurship.Atthe end ofthe programme,Mr. K K Maurya, Director of UT Computer
Education and Welfare Society, Bijnor,faculty offer the vote ofthanks to the Guest and
the participants.
