SOLO PARENTS: BASIS FOR AN EXTENSION PROJECT”

Dear Participants,

We, the undersigned, Fourth Year Bachelor of Science Major in Psychology of the
Department of Arts and Sciences from Cavite State University – Trece Martires
Campus, are conducting an undergraduate thesis on solo parents' personality traits
and parenting styles. The study covers registered solo parents in the barangay of
Osorio, Conchu, and Gregorio in Trece Martires City, Cavite. The study’s main
objective is to determine the significant difference in solo parents' personality traits
and parenting styles. The results of the study will be used to develop an extension
project.
In this regard, we respectfully request your participation in the said study. Rest
assured that all the data gathered from the study will be treated with respect and
utmost confidentiality. Also, the result of the study will be provided if you desire to
know it.

Authoritative Parenting Style

Authoritarian Parenting Style

Permissive Parenting Style

 Authoritative Parenting Style- In this parenting approach, parents are


caring, receptive, and supportive but also establish strict boundaries for
their children. They try to discipline kids by outlining rules, having
discussions, and using logic. They consider a child's perspective but do
not always agree with it.
 Authoritarian Parenting Style- Parenting in this style is very strict.
Parents want their children to adhere to the rules without question or
compromise.
 Permissive Parenting Style- This parenting approach incorporates a lot
of parental warmth and affection, but it also lacks boundaries,
expectations, and rules. Children frequently perceive these parents as
friends rather than superiors.
