What Is Life
What Is Life
A group of people gathered in a certain place and were trying to define life. They
asked the question – What is Life? Someone in the group defined life as the period from
birth to death, but another person quickly said “No”- arguing that there is life before birth
(i.e. in the womb) and that there is life after death (eternity).
The question came up again, “What then is life?” Someone stood up and defined life
as the union of the spirit, soul and body. But before he could sit down, another voice
refuted him saying that plants and animals don’t have spirit and soul yet they have life.
Somebody said “OK then, as you are existing you are living.” However, somebody
else quickly said “No- that houses, cars and other inanimate things also exist but do not
have life.” The group then decided to consult a dictionary; which defined life as the
feature that distinguishes an organic matter from an inorganic matter. A lady in that
group who understood biological sciences said that it was not always true. She said there
are some organisms that behave like the living and also like the dead. She gave an
instance with an AIDS virus (HIV), she said if you put HIV in blood it lives (thrives), but
if you remove it from blood it manifests the characteristics of a non-living element and if
you put it back into blood it lives again.
At this point there was absolute silence. Suddenly, someone opened the Scriptures
and Jesus gave the answer in John 14:6 where He says, “I am the WAY, the TRUTH and
the LIFE”.
No Jesus; No Life
Also
Know Jesus; Know Life
The life we are talking about is eternal life. It is only possible through Jesus. Jesus says
that he who believes in him, even though the person dies he will live again (Luke 9:24).
Jesus reveals in Mark 8:36 that man’s soul is more precious than the entire world put
together.
Many come to terms with this truth on their death bed. Mysteries happen on a death
bed. A dying man comes to understand that life is vanity. A man on the death bed can
agree to sell everything he has just to stay alive. Ask a dying man to come and watch his
favourite football club playing, he will refuse. Offer him his favourite meal and he will
have no appetite for it. On that death bed, a man that used to be carnal begins to yearn for
spiritual things. He says things like, “Call a priest to lay hands on me, call Mr. A I want
to reconcile with him.” A dying man is on the fence linking the present life to the after-
life. He can even prophesy, predict the future and pronounce efficacious blessings on his
children. If he is sanctified, his eyes can be opened to see angels right there in his room.
If on the other hand he is going to hell, he can even express the scary presence of demons
in his room.
1
In this life you need not worry, only be at peace with your creator. God is the God of all
essence, ensuring that his children have the very essence of all goodness. For instance,
many folks out there spend huge amounts of money for security but God protects us daily
without any bodyguard. Many pay through their nose putting their children in “Five-star
schools” but some of our children who may not be in such schools are doing marvelously
well where they are, highly intelligent and can even outsmart some of those children out
there. Many spend heavily for health upkeep and rich diets but this Great God of all
essence keeps us healthy just like that. Indeed it pays to serve God. Pause a little? What is
the essence of those things you don’t yet have? Look very well, THE MIGHTY GOD OF
ALL ESSENCE has already provided the essence of those things while still taking us
there. When we are passing through the fire, God removes the heat; carrying a load he
removes the weight. Onlookers wonder how you are surviving. We are troubled on every
side yet not distressed; perplexed but not in despair; persecuted but not forsaken; cast
down but not destroyed (2 Cor 4:8-9). It can only be GOD. Alleluia!
If you go to the law court today, we have the canon law which came from the
Scriptures and the Sharia law from the Qur’an. Many years ago, the English people sat
down and looked at the laws of God and from there they derived the canon law. For
instance, the Scripture says “Thou shall not steal” and today robbery is a crime in the law
court. The Bible says “Thou shall not kill/commit adultery.” Of course murder and rape
are offences in the law court.
Now in the law courts there are two types of offence. We have the
a. Criminal offence and the
b. Civil offence
Jumping the queue, for instance, is not a criminal offence. While driving, if you
scratch somebody’s car it’s not a criminal offence. You won’t go to jail because you
scratched somebody’s car. It’s a civil offence.
In the laws of God now, we have it that every sin is unto death (spiritual
death/separation from God) and every sin can lead to hell (Rom 6:23). If one is found
guilty of sin the penalty is capital punishment. The book of Leviticus chapters 18, 19 and
20 tell us some very abominable sins of man which include homosexuality, incest,
adultery, witchcraft and many other abominations common in the world today. These sins
carry an inevitable physical death penalty such that as the Scripture in Lev. 26:40 – 41
talks about the remedy, it emphasizes that the guilty person should after confessing the
sin still accept the punishment. This means that nothing could be done!
But the good news is that Jesus accepted to take our place and die for us. In some
cases, sin unto death will cause barrenness. Some people are barren not because of any
2
biological issue but because of spiritual problems. But we want to look at what Jesus the
Christ has done. Knowledge is power! In some traditions, certain offences are highly
abhorred and carry terrible penalties. For instance, in the Igbo land in Nigeria, there are
some offences somebody will commit (e.g. incest) and the elders will mandate the
offender to appease the land; in which case the offender will have to go naked and be
carried about the community in disgrace, and also buy a goat for a sacrifice. Else, the
person will not succeed in life because of the curse imposed by his iniquity. Amazingly,
Jesus our Lord suffered all of these penalties. Jesus was made naked. Being made naked
is one of the highest humiliations any person of integrity can suffer. He did not bring a
mere goat; he offered Himself (suffering the death penalty of our sin), died in our place
and rose again on the third day to declare us free. Praise Jesus somebody! Jesus was
made poor that we might be rich. He died that we might live; He died for us; so we
should live for him; hope you are living for Jesus?
Now because Jesus has redeemed us the Bible makes bold to say, “Jesus has
redeemed us from the curse of the law” (Gal. 3: 13).
3. END-TIME SIGNALS
All the end-time signals have been fulfilled. ...And this gospel shall be preached as a
witness to all nations (not necessarily to all individuals). Jesus gave a prophecy in Matt
24:7 that before He will come the second time, the world will record earthquakes. When
Jesus Christ gave this prophecy, there was no record of such earthquakes anywhere, but
after several centuries it came to pass. In fact, the very moment Jesus said “it is finished,”
the earth did quake (Matt. 27:51).
The Gospel according to Saint Luke 21:25 says the sea will roar as one of the end-
time signals. At the time Jesus said this, there had not been such records, but after several
years it also came to pass. Water overflowed the banks of the seas and came into the
cities destroying lives and property. This was given a name -tsunami disaster (a terrible
flood disaster)
Matthew 24:29 says a time will come when the sun and the moon will be darkened
and the stars will drop from the sky. Science has proofs backing this up. It might interest
you to know that no scientific proof or historical finding contradicts the Bible. One may
find a theorem that is contrary to the Bible because theorems are not laws, they are either
not 100% proven or got some limitations. E.g. The Evolution theory which varies
according to various philosophers; where Mr. A gives a theorem and Mr. B gives
something different still on the same subject. The Bible is indeed authentic with unbroken
veracity and integrity ever. Earlier arguments have even staggered on certain facts but
finally came to confirm the Bible. For instance, it was once said that the earth was flat
whereas the Bible already says that God sits upon the circle of the earth (Isaiah 40:22)
and today science has confirmed that the earth is spherical (3 dimensional circle). Today,
3
many scientists and science scholars believe in God. For instance, medical scientists
(doctors) have seen God turn HIV positive to negative, SS genotype to AA and lots of
miraculous healings of diseases that defy medical expertise and even tagged incurable. Of
course there is a God in heaven that rules over the affairs of men revealing secrets (Dan
2:28). The only Potentate. The Immortality that dwells in the light which no man can
approach (1Tim 6:15-16).
There are amazing proofs from science, for instance, the sun is stationary (not
moving). The statement the sun rises from the East and sets in the West is relativistic.
That is to say, for instance, while moving in a bus, the grasses apparently will be moving
backwards. The revolution speed of the Earth is faster than a moving bullet. The same
gravity keeping us glued to the earth surface (the Earth behaving like a magnet) still
sustains the various planets in space. The Earth is where God created humans, some other
planets are either too hot (like Venus and Mercury which are closer to the sun compared
to the Earth) or too cold (like Neptune). Some planets do not support plant life and may
not have sufficient oxygen for breathing.
We are on the surface of the Earth not inside it. From the surface, you can look into
space and see the sun and stars all of which are outside our Earth.
Now God created the sun to preserve life. Scientific findings reveal that if the sun
vanishes or darkens (Matt. 24:29) we will starve because all green plants will die for lack
of sunlight (photosynthesis). If all green plants die, all herbivorous animals will die
followed by the carnivorous animals and then there will be no food for man. Every food
we eat either comes from plants or animals directly or indirectly. Now should anything
happen to the sun, all human will be affected. Remember the Scripture talks about a time
when people will have money but cannot buy or sell unless they get the mark of the beast
(Rev 13:17).
Science says the sun is a body of gases likewise the stars. So there is nothing like
landing on the sun/stars since they are not solid bodies like the Earth and the moon. Also,
the sun and stars are extremely hot; thousands and millions of degree Fahrenheit (about
6000 to 15000000°F) from the surface down to the hottest core which can melt any rock.
Fire has degrees; our kitchen fire cannot melt an iron but we do know that blacksmiths
melt iron. Some elements can intensify the heat from a furnace. Remember that hell will
burn with sulfur and brimstone. These are terrible elements with chocking smell when put
in fire. If science is proving the Scripture, then there is no excuse for atheists. They say
they don’t believe in God yet they use scientific/technological products- drive cars, use
cell phones etc. and now science is backing up the Scriptures. Researches reveal that the
gases in the sun combine by chemical chain reactions producing great heat, solar energy
and energy for the photosynthesis of plants. The gases in the sun are not being
replenished and therefore it is calculated that the mass of the gases will someday be
exhausted, though science estimates thousands of years before this should happen (Matt.
24:29). Science actually started from God. Of course the living and non living things
4
scientists study are all God’s creation. It might interest you to know that the early
scientists (the founding fathers of science) were all godly men before some occultists
came into science with pollution and made science go wild and we now have deadly
weapons, abortion tools and self defilement machines. Abomination! Check out these
founding fathers even with their Bible names confirming they were Christians. ISAAC
Newton (A physicist/ mathematician), JAMES Watt who invented the steam engine and
had his name eternized as Watt is the S.I. unit of power. THOMAS Edison (who invented
the electric bulb), MICHAEL Faraday etc. God was indeed behind the inventive
knowledge. Many of the early scientists did not necessarily bear a Bible name but were
believers. The Wright brothers Orville and Wilbur who invented the airplane were the
sons of a bishop. Even in Nigeria, most hip-hop artists started from the church before
they deviated. Indeed every good and perfect gift comes from our Father above. Today,
the likes of Ben Carson doing wonders in the neurosurgical field are symbols of God’s
infinite, unfathomable and unsearchable wisdom
In Deut. 33:24, Moses was blessing the 12 tribes of Israel and coming to the tribe of
Asher he said, “Asher shall dip his feet in oil. At that time, there was no oil in Israel but
in 1948 when Israel officially became a nation, the elders of Israel gathered on a prayer
summit and called on the Lord God of their fathers Abraham, Isaac and Israel and
demanded for the oil deposit promised to Asher. They called on oil drillers and
miraculously oil was found in Asher. The scripture is indeed true.
In Isaiah 60:5-6, God blessed Israel and promised them that Gentiles will bring their
wealth to them (Israel) and that the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto them.
One of the major seas in Israel is the Dead Sea. From the name Dead Sea one will
wonder what good thing will come out of it seeing that it does not support plant life or
fishes. Geographers say that the lowest point of the earth is the Dead Sea. We can take
the highest point of the earth as the peak of Mount Everest but the lowest point on the
Earth plane is the Dead Sea. Generally speaking, rivers and water bodies are at low lands
otherwise water will not pack in them. Now because the Dead Sea is at the lowest plane it
doesn’t flow out, instead water rushes down from nearby lands, mountains and rocks and
flows into the Dead Sea making it very dense with numerous chemicals. Today, Israeli
industries harness the chemicals in the Dead Sea and make money from it according to
Isaiah 60:5. Moreover, Gentile nations (every other nation apart from Israel) troop into
The Holy Land (Israel) from time to time with their hard currency for tourism; the wealth
of Gentiles converting unto them as the Scripture says. Israel makes a huge amount of
money annually from tourism. It’s a prophecy come true. Has God made you a promise?
If only you can hold unto him, he has what it takes to make something out of nothing. He
is the only jack of all trade and master of all. From the sea called dead, wealth is created.
5
Samson said out of the eater came something to eat and out of the strong something sweet
(Judges 14:140).
The Scripture says in Acts 1:10-11 that Jesus will come again and because it is
written, he will certainly come to rapture the saints unto glory; out of suffering and pain.
There are more prophecies about the second coming of Jesus than for his first coming.
When the Scripture talks about the day of the Lord, it’s about Christ’s second coming.
Even Enoch an Old Testament saint prophesied concerning the Lord’s judgment day
long before the birth of Jesus (Jude 1:14-15). The second coming of Jesus is more
definite than His first coming. Many unbelieving folks have even fulfilled 2 Pet. 3:3-4 by
asking why Jesus has not come all the while and we are still waiting.
The Scripture talks about false prophets arising. Of course we have seen many of
them. Rev. 2:9 reveals there is a church of Satan and today there is a church literally
bearing that name. Every bit of the Scripture must be fulfilled for the word of God is
infallible (Luke 21:33).
1Kings 3:13 and 10:23 tell us how God promised Solomon that he will be wealthier
than all the kings all his days and it came true. God is wise indeed! God made Solomon
wealthy in things that appreciate. Land appreciates. A land of 5 million naira today will
be sold higher next year. Gold also appreciates. One jewelry dealer brought out a small
jewelry box and said that the jewelries in the box worth millions! Livestock also
appreciates. Many years ago one could buy a cow for ₦80,000 but today ₦200,000 may
not get a fat cow. On the other hand, electronics, houses and products of technology
depreciate. The first car/phone/house model will worth little or nothing today since
technology will always upgrade/advance and the price of the old models will
automatically depreciate. Now God made Solomon wealthy in possessions that
appreciate. Even his wise counsels in the book of Proverbs remain a blessing. Being the
king, Solomon controlled hectares of lands worth millions of dollars today. He built a
temple (a big temple of Israel) with gold. He offered God 1000 burnt offerings (e.g. a
cow of ₦200,000 x 1000 = ₦200,000,000) => again in 1Kings 8:63, Solomon offered
God 22,000 oxen and 120,000 sheep. Now look at this! 'Offering time,' he gave God
22,000 oxen. If each cost ₦200,000 then 200,000 x 22,000 = ₦4,400,000,000 (₦4.4
billion offering) God is indeed an eternal programmer. His words/promises have eternal
validity.
John 21:25, the last verse of the four Gospel books says if all the works of Jesus were
written, the world will not contain the books. Sounds like an exaggeration right? But it is
literally true. First, no pastor has finished preaching from the Bible. From a single verse,
millions of messages/books can spring up. It's a fountain here! Furthermore, if a thousand
pastors teach from one verse, they will speak differently. You as a believer have
revelational teachings that you can write from the Bible as well as every single believer
now and in future will get multiple revelations as often as he or she reads each verse of
the Bible. Indeed, the world cannot contain the books.

5. PRAYER
The subject of prayer is so important that when we learn the art/science of prayer our
problems will indeed be a mirage. In Luke 11:1, the Apostles observed Jesus pray, and
when He was done, one approached him and said “Master, teach us how to pray.” Now
these men being Jews already knew how to pray. Besides, they had been followers of
Jesus and so knew how to pray. For them to have observed Jesus pray and approached
him to be taught means there was another dimension of prayer Jesus manifested that
made them subject themselves to be taught again; “Lord, teach us how to pray.”A
question came up somewhere: “Who prayed and God answered?" The replies were quite
many. Elijah prayed and God answered, David prayed and God answered, also Moses,
Daniel, Esther, The Apostles etc. even Samson after his fall prayed and God showed him
mercy. Then who in the Bible prayed but God did not answer? Very difficult to find. So,
God is a prayer answering king, provided you pray within the confines of His will.
Amazingly, even the devil made a request and got it. He requested to tamper with Job’s
wealth (Job 1:10-12) and God even granted his request, how much more you and I. Even
the demons called Legion in the mad folk at Gadarenes (Mark 5) requested that Jesus
should not send them entirely out of the country coasts but into the swine, and Jesus
granted them leave (Mark 5:12-13).
Certainly, there are principles of prayer that even the devil/those demons applied and
got their requests. First, enter/provoke God’s presence before you pray. Some men of
God would worship God for hours trying to be broken off from the weights, worries and
carnalities of this realm and launch into the spirit realm before they make their utterances,
and anything they ask for must happen (Rom. 8:26). You must provoke God’s presence
first. Notice, that the devil in Job 1:7 had entered into God’s presence in his 'to and fro'
movements. Those demons in Mark 5 also were speaking directly to Our Master Jesus.
Don’t pray when the heaven gates have not been opened. Just like when you place a call
on someone’s line, you don’t start talking until you hear the person’s voice. Be sure to
sense God’s presence/ enter The Divine realms before praying. You can enter with heart-
felt worship, praises, positive meditation and crying for mercy.
Furthermore, 1 John 5:14 instructs us to pray according to God’s will so as to receive
answers. Even the devil and those demons applied this principle. They asked within what
God could grant them. Notice that the devil did not request to kill Job -God wouldn’t
have allowed such for His faithful servant. Also the demons in Mark 5 did not say,
“Jesus, permit us to torment this man for one more minute.” They knew Jesus would not
permit that. If we ask for life and good health to serve God, these are our kingdom rights
and again we should obey God’s word (scriptures) on health matters, and our healing is
sure. Rev. 4:11 tells us that we are created for God’s pleasure and glory. Be sure to
present your request in line with God’s will for you as a believer. There's God's
7
will/timing for you as a believer. Prayerfully decode it and always ask in line with it. The
fact that others have received so and so blessing at a particular time doesn't necessarily
mean it will be your fate at that given time. You see, in this life just follow God in His
will for your own life and you will be happy. Avoid sin for it distorts the balances. The
path through which God took Joseph to the throne may not look palatable when viewed
from outside. But ask Joseph, he had joy in the trials and in the end he was a happy man.
Joseph would ask after the welfare of other inmates (Gen. 40:6-8). No doubt, a different
platform was carrying Joseph because God was involved.
You must learn to make your demands in line with God's special will for you. Even
we as physical parents won’t give certain things to our amateur children lest we destroy
them by ourselves. Your boy wants to eat a whole carton of chocolates; you knowing it’s
not healthy will not allow him. Mature believers ask for divine will; thy kingdom come
oh Lord.
Moreover, Eph. 3:29 reveals that God answers what we ASK and what we THINK.
This means that if you pray for healing/success for instance, and in your mind you are in
doubt and thinking failure, pain etc. Are you not trying to confuse the angels that will
bring the answers? -Since your THINKING is different from your ASKING. No wonder
the book of James 1:6-8 says a double minded man should forget about receiving
anything from God. Remember Heb. 11:6 says without faith it is IMPOSSIBLE to
please God. If you ask God for mercy for instance, have faith that you have received
mercy, confess it, believe it, imagine it, feel it and act in the light of it and the devil will
give way. The devil will never want you to believe or accept, for instance, that you’ve
been forgiven. God promises He will not remember our sins any more. The voice that
reminds you of your past sins so you become weak and fall back is the devil. Jesus’ blood
cleanses from every sin. It's not ones previous sin that's the problem, rather it's the
continuity. Stop it permanently. After some days, weeks, months and years watch how
time will roll back your lost years
Every problem is a mirage. Every problem has an expiry date. A certain lady was
crying for a husband and God spoke to her in Isaiah 34:16 that none shall want her mate.
God also took her to a women’s meeting and she saw all manner of married women.
Some were tall, some were short, some were not so beautiful and all those got married.
“So why won’t I?” she said. Just keep walking with the Lord above all carnalities. Be
filled with the Holy Spirit and your beauty will glow like light. We need to stay longer on
the altar of prayers. Prayers can keep one busy 24/7. Jesus was surprised when the
apostles could not watch and pray for one hour, so he asked, “Can’t you watch and pray
for one hour?” (Mark 14:37). This means that one hour is like a little time of prayer.
When you pray and you are not connecting, persist. Fight and subdue all those weights
and launch into the presence of your Maker. Such days usually carry spectacular
miracles. The Bible says we should pray without ceasing (not season) (1Thes 5:17). We
should pray non-stop. It means we should be in fellowship with God’s spirit 24/7, always
8
interceding. Everything around you can actually give you a prayer topic to thank God or
to intercede.
6. SPIRITUALITY
9
Let’s assume a very obedient child is not good in his studies but can draw and paint
very well. The drop in his academic performance may not be his fault. That child may be
destined to do exploits in art works. It takes the parents’ spiritual sensitivity to accept that
child, let him be and happily direct him rightly to achieve his destiny. Have you pondered
on the 2 types of school children? There are the ones that cry on the first week in school
and those that rejoice even getting their bags and lunch boxes ready everyday and asking
mummy if it’s 'today' they will start school.
You’ve been struggling on something without breaking through. It may be that
heaven is not in support of the move – like Balaam going to curse Israel and his vehicle
(the ass) wasn’t moving well. It takes spirituality to sit back, think and figure out the
problem before you continue.
If it’s God opposing you, quit that move. But if it’s Satan, push forward prayerfully
because something good will surely come out of it. Thus oppositions can result from two
sources; from God which implies that you should quit the venture, or from Satan which
implies you should push forward, conquer the adversary and grab the blessing he wanted
to deny you.
Some people complain that certain negative thoughts seem to dominate their minds
even when they don’t want to think on them. One reason for this is that the person in
question was not prompt at rejecting such a thought. He had accepted it/pondered over it
a little and the thought having taken over becomes difficult to resist. One shouldn’t keep
looking at a nude picture, for instance, or thinking on the corrupt lyrics of some secular
songs for some seconds intending to resist later. No! We must be prompt at resisting the
devil and he will flee.
Nothing negative will happen to you unless you permit it. A believer who refuses to
accept death will not die even when all physical indications say that the person must die.
Whether the person has a mortal wound or a terminal disease God can save such one.
Remember that John the beloved survived hot oil immersion and Paul who the Barbarians
thought would die, shook off the beast into the fire and felt no harm (Acts 28:1-6). The
same Paul was stoned until his enemies counted him dead, yet he got up alive (Acts
14:19-20). Paul suffered a shipwreck in Acts 27:9-44 but did not still die. You know this
saying: Your faith determines your fate.
Didn’t Daniel survive the lion’s den, the 3 Hebrews survived the flames and Jesus
conquered the grave. You have a mighty God. Job never accepted death. He knew his
Redeemer liveth (Job 19:25).
Job’s wife had concluded that Job would die and she advised Job to curse God before
dying, perhaps to show how disappointed they were in God but Job did not curse God
and did not die.
10
A certain believer was in a vehicle and there was a fatal accident. Many people in that
vehicle were already lying dead but this believer who was badly wounded and in a pool
of blood was continually shouting “I refuse to die”, “I refuse to die”. He kept shouting
but was losing strength and consciousness. However, his soul was still speaking though
his voice was no longer heard. Miraculously as God would have it, his lips moved at
intervals. When the rescue team finally arrived they quickly spotted his moving lips and
picked him up from the midst of dead bodies, took him to hospital and he was revived.
Today the man in question is a Pastor.
A similar testimony concerns a pregnant woman whose baby died in her womb
without her being aware of it. The belly began to swell but the woman mistook it to be
the normal womb enlargement as a lady’s pregnancy matures. Finally, she visited a
hospital and a scan revealed that the baby in her womb was dead and her belly was
already filled with pus. Moreover, there were internal injuries and infections. It was quite
critical and people thought the woman would die. In all, this woman didn’t look
disturbed. She would welcome her visitors with smiles believing that God was in charge.
She acted as though nothing was wrong and finally after some months she was
discharged.
By the laws of the spirit, nothing bad happens to a believer unless he/she accepts it.
The devil wants us to break God’s principles and feel guilty. That loss of confidence can
make one accept defeat. No wonder the book of Heb. 10:35 enjoins us to be firm and not
to lose our confidence which has great recompense of reward. You can even say ‘NO’ on
behalf of your loved ones and they won’t die. The very old ones will have to beg you to
release them so they can die. Your mind is a programming machine. King David, who
desired that Absalom his son be caught alive, had nature create his mind for him.
Absalom got stuck by his long hairs under an oak tree 2Sam 18:5-10; a very good set up
for him to be caught alive, if not that Joab was determined to kill him.
Joseph even while in prison still held unto God believing his dreams would come true,
and in the fullness of time his dreams came true. Had he defiled himself, his confidence
would have been shattered and it would have been a different story. Don’t give room to
anything that will beat down your confidence. And if you have sinned already, the blood
of Jesus cleanses from every sin. The Lord delivers from captivity -lawful and unlawful
(Isaiah 49:24-26).
If you tamper with your tithe and something negative happens, you tend to accept it.
The confidence to speak God’s word over that situation may not be there. But also learn
to kick the devil out even when you err. Quickly reconcile with your father, it's a family
business here and satan has no place.
A sickness/spell of death can be nipped in the bud for they all begin with thoughts
inspired through pains. If you prayerfully resist the pain /negative feelings the
sickness/death will pass over you. Your body is linked to your soul/moods. A man was
pressed and needed to urinate. Someone began to tell him a story that grabbed his
11
attention. This man was no longer feeling pressed until the story ended and his mind
came back to think of urine. Evil men/women that have transformed to witches and
wizards often use this principle. A witch falls sick and is about to die, she goes to her
witches coven and performs some rituals. Guess what? The sickness goes without drugs,
sometimes a younger person dies in exchange. Every sickness has a spirit. If you see it as
being spiritual, you can easily control it with prayers. David actually presented his God to
confront Goliath. “Then said David to the Philistine, You come against me with a sword,
a spear and a shield, but I come against you in the name of the LORD of hosts; the God
of the armies of Israel, whom thou has defied.” (1 Sam. 17:45). If it was on physical
grounds, of course Goliath was better equipped, but it’s always better to fight from a
spiritual platform and then any physical thing you engage will work wonders. You think
money ritualists are wealthy because of their big business? No. A platform is carrying
them and then whatever they do booms. We believers have a better covenant established
on better promises. WHATEVER you lay your hands to do prospers (Psalm 1:3). Only
believe. Remember we are called BELIEVERS.
Many patients have died because they did not first prayerfully address the spirit of
death/sickness before going to the hospital for drugs. A good doctor is spiritual and can
command a patient’s soul back into the patient’s body when it wants to leave.
Prayer first, to cut off the spiritual forces and then drugs can be successfully
administered. When death is knocking, don’t treat the sickness, it is just a medium for the
person’s life to be terminated. Simply go to God in prayers and stop the death then the
sickness will go away, sometimes even without drugs. Remember, some evil people even
know this principle and that’s why when a sickness comes to them, they won’t mind the
name/nature of the sickness, they would exchange their life with a younger person; the
younger person will die and they will be healed and keep living. Life is spiritual. The
Bible reveals that death is a spirit/being. You may not bind it now because it’s still on its
assignment on earth and will be the last enemy to be bound, but you can certainly ask
death to pass over you and your household by the blood of Jesus (1 Cor. 15:26).
Some believers never take drugs. When sickness starts in its thought level, they resist
it (nip it in the bud). Such believers also adhere to God’s health principles as written in
the Bible. The meats God declares unclean in Leviticus 11 all give health problems;
either excess fat as in pork or excess calories or some health risk or the other. The
12
Scripture encourages exercise and rest when it says 6days thou shall work (exercise) and
on the 7th day you rest (stress management) Exo. 20:9-10.
Negative moods also cause sickness. Medical sciences call such sicknesses
psychosomatic diseases. Remember the Bible already warns us against all negative
moods. For example:
Concerning Fear – the Bible says, 'fear not' (Isaiah 41:10.)
Worry – be anxious for nothing... (Phil 4:6, Matt. 6:31-32)
Bitterness/ Envy/ Anger – let all bitterness and wrath... be put away from you (Eph.
4:31)
Worry is a mood but it can affect the body and cause High Blood Pressure.
Fear is a mood that can make the veins and nerves quake physically.
Anxiety can make you sweat in an air-conditioned room. Biologists say that during
negative moods certain dangerous and body-deteriorating enzymes are released.
Pornography is deadly. It is a dangerous mood that can also release body hormones
and cause sickness for the fact that it is sinful.
Anger can cause ulcer/heart attack and trigger stutters in a stammerer.
Lust can cause asthma. Of course there can be other causes but this is one of the
causes. An English simile says “As sick as a dog”, and a dog is also known for lust.
Oxidative stress has been proven to trigger several diseases. Guess what? Stress is due
to bad moods such as worry and bitterness while working, perhaps because the pay is
little; you don’t like the job etc. Work with excitement and watch the difference.
Remember your joy should be triggered by the fact that God is still on the throne and
still loves you and has good plans for you. Don’t let your joy depend on
circumstances for they are vulnerable to changes and manipulations. Even simple
office works with bitterness can create stress and weigh the body down but weight-
lifting with excitement will become exercise and build your body. Your body needs
daily exercise, whether you are thin or fat. Take note. Fats can accumulate internally
around some organs. Everybody needs exercise.
Somehow, every sickness has a sin attached as a cause. One of God’s laws must have been broken
before a sickness springs up. Even gluttony can cause sickness. All through scriptures whenever God
provides food, it is just two square meals. For instance, he sent manner in the morning and evening
(Exo. 16:8). He also fed Elijah using raven in the morning and evening (1kings 17:6). Remember, we often
fall sick because of what we eat and what we refuse to eat. We can also consider our lifestyles (e.g.
stressful lifestyle and sedentary lifestyle) and our moods.
The Bible tells us to rejoice always (1Thes 5:16). Joy is one mood that defeats evil
arrows. Many arrows are fired when we are worried, in fears, angry, bitter, lustful etc. but
joy can create miracles for joyfulness means you trust in God’s abilities and joy is one of
the nine-fold fruit of the Holy Spirit (Gal. 5:22-23).
Whenever I’m in a negative mood, the next call that comes is usually a bad news and
God revealed to me how arrows are shot when we are depressed, worried, bitter, fearful
13
and lustful; carried away by events. No wonder we are enjoined to guide our hearts with
all diligence for out of it are the issues of life (Prov. 4:23).
Every physical thing has a spiritual trigger. Fire is physical but heat is somewhat
spiritual. A crying child sweats not because the room is hot but because of his realm.
When Jesus came as the fourth man in the fire, he removed the heat. Like we said, you
may be carrying the burdens/ needs of others but God removes the weight. The people
outside may seem to pity you but within, you are enjoying great peace. This is what the
Scripture means by the assurance, ‘Even when you pass through the fire you shall not be
hurt, and through the waters you shall not drown.’ (Isaiah 43:2). Remember we call Him
‘The Mighty God of all essence.
8. ADDICTION
A certain child was doing his school assignment and food was served. He wanted to
finish his assignment before eating but at a time he decided to take just a spoon of the
meal. Amazingly, after eating the first he took another. The urge for another spoon was
increasing and this is how addictive sins go. The first step will always provoke a second
step and before you know it, it becomes a chain reaction; vicious circle. However, an
elderly man standing by asked the boy to drink water and immediately he did, the desire
for another spoon stopped. The boy was able to finish his assignment without distraction
and then when he was done with his assignment he ate. In the same vein, a drink from the
water of life can quench sinful desires and the Holy Spirit is the water of life that Jesus
has given us freely. (Isaiah 55:1). We just need to earnestly desire him and draw from
God’s well of grace.
Sometimes, we humans are tempted to question God’s judgment. For instance, one
may think that God is too slow in executing or giving judgment, but the truth remains that
we humans judge based on our limited knowledge but God’s judgment is the best since
He is All-knowing. 1Sam. 16:7 and 1Cor. 2:10 tell us that God searches the heart and
searches all things. God judges the motive behind our actions. What prompted your
action and what you had in mind before taking that step is what God will judge.
15
Somebody may give alms and sow seeds to show-off or to gain acceptance in the sight of
men and so miss the eternal rewards. In Matt.6:1-4 Jesus Christ tells us to give alms
secretly if we must receive heavenly rewards. This does not mean that you should rumple
your money during an offering. Of course, the central bank is against folding/rough-
handling money. You may put the money in an envelope if any and give it. Some people
show kindness because of what they stand to gain from the other party. Some appear holy
because there has not been any palatable opportunity to do evil. This can limit a person’s
reward.
In a certain church meeting of youths, it was agreed that every youth should
contribute 1000 naira. All the youths gave full compliance except for one very poor
fellow who managed to get 500 naira which he should have used to meet his personal
needs but seeing the need in the church, he paid this 500. Many of the youths frowned at
him for not paying the complete money but God fully accepted his 500. There’s God’s
platform for individualistic judgment because we don’t share the same privileges in those
cases. There are also the general grounds/platforms of judgment. God’s judgment will
always be better because He has all the facts surrounding any given event. This does not
mean that God will for instance justify a thief for stealing because he was hungry. On the
judgment day, even sinners after being condemned will declare that God is just in
condemning them. God’s judgment has the highest equity.
As we all know, joy does not depend on events and circumstances, joy lies in the
soul. “Amid difficulties one can fine-tune his heart to the realm of joy.” The scripture
admonishes us to rejoice evermore (1Thes. 5:16).
One can develop joy in reading and studying whereas some others see it as being
stressful. One can learn to be joyful while fasting and praying and even yearn to worship
and pray even when others don’t make out time for such. Stephen when being stoned
focused on God and drew joy from the soul even in the face of death and in fact in a
painful death experience. He could ask for mercy on behalf of those killing him (Acts
7:54-60).
In child training, parents should condition the child’s mind to hard work and
diligence while the child is still very young. When a child is thoroughly drilled, for
instance, trained to study always, that child will begin to enjoy hard work. The dividends
of success in his school: being the best in class, being selected to represent his school in
competitions etc. will buttress his joy. Watch such a child; when offered the pleasures of
watching movies/social media as against studying his books, he will begin to feel empty
within him and will suddenly excuse himself from those and go back to his studies. A
child led through godly activities will also develop joy in praying, evangelism and
16
general holiness. He will quickly dissociate from folks who would offer pleasures and
corrupt activities. Prov. 22:6 asks us to train children aright for they won’t depart from it.
As far as what you are doing is positive, continue. You will soon develop joy doing
it. Destined soldiers are happy when selected to go for war. Many ministers are excited
about fasting and prayers. If they haven’t fasted and prayed for a long time, they will
begin to feel empty and go into it again. Giving also carries so much joy that you become
even more excited than the receiver. This is the cheerful giving that draws heaven's
attention (2 Cor. 9:7).
Two young friends lived together as roommates in a certain room. One fateful day,
one of the roommates bed wetted (quite weird and unusual of him). He sincerely
apologized to his roommate but his roommate refused to forgive him. Instead, he mocked
him. After few days this mocking roommate also bed wetted and became very ashamed.
Nature had simply thought him that it was not by power nor might. He should have
pardoned his roommate who had sincerely apologized.
People came for a crusade and were healed of knee pains, arthritis, waist pains and
various other troubles in the body. One lady mocked and asked, “What is pain?” “I
expected the preacher to open blind eyes and raise the dead but here are people saying
“this pain is gone and that pain is gone”. Few days later this lady developed acute pain in
a tooth. The aching tooth made her so uncomfortable that she had to quickly visit a
dentist. When she started thinking/and pondering over the aching tooth, the Holy Spirit
revealed to her that healing from pain should not be despised. She was already pleading
with God to have mercy and heal her from such an excruciating pain. Indeed, nature
monitors every incident: (i) known and unknown (ii) hidden and obvious- and nature will
try to balance them up such that the righteous/innocent will rejoice and the wicked will
not go unpunished (Pro. 11:21 and Gal. 6:7).
In the book of Jonah 4:1-11 God also used nature to teach Jonah to be grateful. Jonah
was much displeased with how God spared Nineveh and did not destroy them and God
wanted to make Jonah understand why Nineveh should be spared.
God made a gourd to grow over Jonah shielding him from the scorching heat of the
sun. Jonah was happy until the gourd died and the heat continued. Jonah was very
annoyed as to why the gourd should die. At this point, God spoke revealing how Jonah
had cherished the life of the gourd he did not even create and why won’t He God cherish
and spare the over 120,000 inhabitants of Nineveh he had created in his image and that
have repented after Jonah’s warning. Nature is God’s servant at work on earth. It can
serve as God’s mouth piece/God’s finger. However, some evil people manipulate nature
by sacrifice but we believers should sit up and control nature and make it serve its master
-God Almighty.
17
Knowing that God designed nature to balance all transactions, you should not bother
when you are being cheated by another. A certain servant served his master faithfully for
seven years but his master changed his wages and left him empty. He reported to his
pastor who prayed for him and asked him to forget about the matter. Some months later,
the master had a big problem that ruined his wealth and during that same period the
servant got a connection that made him very wealthy. The master later came to borrow
money from the servant. A similar event happened between Jacob and his master Laban
in Gen 31:1-12. After Laban had tricked Jacob into serving for as long as twenty years,
God literally transferred Laban’s wealth to Jacob.
“And he heard the words of Laban’s sons, saying Jacob has taken away all that was
our father’s; and of that which was ours has he gotten all this glory”. (Gen. 31:1).
When Laban said that Jacob should take the speckled cattle as his wages, all the
cattle will leave speckled calves and when he said that Jacob should take the ring
streaked, all the cattle would bear ring streaked calves. (Gen. 31:8) and God said in vs. 12
of Gen. 31.
“Lift up now thy eyes and see all the rams which leap upon the cattle are ring
streaked, speckled and grilled: for I have seen all that Laban doeth unto thee.” (Gen
31:12).
When nature is at work, the wicked will be helpless for God knows how, when and
where to touch the person and he will be helpless. Always fulfill your own part of a
bargain not minding the other party; else the both of you will become guilty. Simply keep
doing what is right and what is agreed upon. Nature will surely give you your due reward
from any available channel when the expected is manipulated. The same nature will
penalize and cause losses to the guilty party. The problem, most times, is that when we
see the other party being unfaithful we start our own tricks too; thereby taking laws into
our hands and the two parties become guilty. Just play 100% innocence and watch nature
pay you back.
In the 1950’s, a certain man from South-Eastern Nigeria went to live in Lagos to do
money lending business. This Igbo man lent money to one man in Lagos and the man
was unable to pay back before the dead line. Eventually, the court bailiff pushed the man
out of his house which he had given as collateral. Ownership was quickly transferred to
the money lender and the other man became homeless and quite stranded.
At night, this man with his son came to the money lender weeping and pleading for
more time to pay. He said he had used the money to meet the academic needs of that his
only son but his plans to refund him had failed. Quite unusual of most money lenders,
this man just forgave, and restored this man and his son to their property and even told
them to relax until they would get the money.
In 1967 when the Nigerian civil war broke out, this money lender who had come
back to the East embarked on a journey to Lagos. Getting to a military check point on his
way to Lagos, this money lender was searched by Nigerian soldiers and behold by
18
chance, pamphlets of the Biafran government were discovered in his car. It was a very
serious offence. This man was arrested and locked up somewhere with some other
offenders. Day after day the soldiers would pick some of the offenders for court trial and
many were condemned and executed. When it came to the money-lender’s turn and his
case was mentioned, the judge exclaimed that it was a major case of anarchy and that he
the judge would handle this man personally. The judge commanded the soldiers to take
this money lender to his quarters. At this time, the money lender had almost become a
walking ghost counting himself as a dead man and just praying he won’t be tortured
much before being executed. But alas, when the judge came home, he asked the money
lender if he remembered so and so name of a man he lent money back in the 1950’s who
was unable to pay back. This judge announced to the money lender that he was that
man’s son who had come weeping with his dad and pleading for mercy. He had finished
studies and attained a very high rank in the Nigerian law court.
You can predict the rest of the story. Nobody touched the money lender. Instead he
enjoyed first class care in the judge’s house all through the war period. In 1970 when the
civil war ended, the money lender was honorably driven to his village in South-East with
escort soldiers. On arrival, the villagers saw the money lender and fled for they had
already done his memorial service believing him to have died during the war, for there
were no mobile phones for communication then. He called back the villagers and narrated
his story. The money lender had come with several gifts and money from the judge and
became a helping hand to his people, for money was scarce in the East after the war.
Doing good really pays (Heb.6:10 and Gal.6:7)
Nature paid the money lender in his exact coin, for when the court judgment pushed
a man out of his house-collateral; this money lender showed mercy and restored the man
to his property. Now after some years, the court also said the he should be executed and
God The Controller General also intervened and restored his life.
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint
not.” (Gal.6:9).
Just like some plants take time before you can harvest them, some good works take
time. Delayed harvest is usually bountiful… For that money lender he gave a house and
got his life. In some cases, even when a good man is dead, the children will continue
reaping the rewards. It forms a positive spiritual link.
Remember, our problem sometimes is that when we are being cheated by somebody,
we change from faithfulness to unfaithfulness. By so doing, both parties are now guilty;
the person that was innocent had also taken law into his hands. Just be innocent all
through and see whether nature will not intervene. Another problem is that we fix our
expectation on the physical. Just look up to God and He will use any channel/medium to
refund you. You may receive favour, you may get good news, you may record unusual
blessings, you may be paid later etc. Jesus teaches us to repay good for evil (Matt. 5:44).
19
You are expected to accept whatever you offer others. Sin makes one enjoy today
and pay dearly tomorrow. The ill fate of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden reveals
that during temptation the devil offers someone an APPLE and takes his GARDEN.
Righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach (Prov. 14:34). A lady does not
need to expose her body to look attractive. Exposing the body will radiate negative
attractiveness. It will attract 'boy friends' for unholy relationship. Keep yourself pure and
decent and watch how you will radiate positive beauty that will attract suitors to marry
you. The Holy Spirit can aggrandize just on your smile, voice, step or action to win a
person’s heart. Attraction is more spiritual than physical, that’s why evil people use
charm to attract lovers. You as a daughter of Zion should allow the Holy Ghost aura to
rub off on you as an attractive energy.
Someone once said that good people don’t last but bad people live longer. However,
God cannot be unjust. We should note that some people have secret lifestyles that are in
sharp contrast with the lifestyles they exhibit in the public. It’s a pity and quite appalling
that some “seemingly good” people do evil behind the scene, while some “wicked/ strict”
people do good in the secret e.g. help the needy and support good works. Some people
are called wicked perhaps because they don’t tolerate nonsense, they are stingy, are very
strict and won’t allow anybody step on their toes. Remember that God is the best judge.
A strict parent appears “wicked” in the eyes of his/her children but “the spirits” like
the strictness of those parents because it is aimed at instilling discipline and building
virtue in the children. On the other hand, a very lenient parent looks “angelic” to the
children but in the eyes of “the spirits” he is giving the children room to misbehave.
Any good man who keeps to righteousness in the secret and open won’t be tormented
by nature. Such a good man will live long. In his being good, he will still caution people
when they try to misbehave. He will also tell the hurtful/bitter truth as need be. God
cannot be unjust.
21
so he said they would use a virgin. Now the question is: ‘why didn’t he say they
would use a harlot?’ There’s power in preserving your seed as a man.
The innocence of a child opens doors. Many parents have testified of open doors and
favour after God gave them a baby. A child is usually born with the grace to attract
what will be used to nurture him/her to the point that the parents will benefit from the
abundance.
iv. A child does not worry about tomorrow (Matt. 6:31-32) and God carries their
burdens. God uses others (parents, guardians, anybody) to feed them, clothe them,
pay their school fees etc. a child does not think evil or plan evil or habour evil. He
poses no threat. He knows no enemy. He treats everybody as a friend (this is
scriptural Matt. 5:44) and why won’t God fight for them? Someone said that worry
will not take away tomorrow’s problems, yet it takes away today’s peace.
v. The diseases in a family respect the covering of a child. In a family, some adults may
be diabetic, asthmatic, arthritic or hypertensive but the children will be free. Even
when they take sugar in excess, diabetics will not strike. It will have to wait until
when the covering is broken by sin. This is the spiritual interpretation and the
spiritual governs the physical. Maintain godliness and see whether a cure will not
come to the entire family. Diseases can strike adults but when diseases afflict
children, their angels will even enter the government to immunize the children house
to house. When a natural disaster strikes and rescue team comes, the first people to
save are the children, then ladies and finally men, thus children take the rescue
priority.
A child doesn’t segregate. E.g. if a child’s parents or teachers are short, 'ugly', too fat
one-eyed etc. the child does not care. He is not even aware of such. The child will
treat people well irrespective of their handicap
vi. The good news is that you are a child of God. The scriptures call us little
children/children of the father (1John 2:12, 1John 3:18, 1John 4:4, 1John 2:1, 1John
3:10). We can prayerfully take up our innocence by the mercies of Jesus and enjoy
the innumerable blessings meant for the children of God.
vii. Children are free from fear thus obeying God’s command, “fear not” (Isaiah 44:10).
A little child can boldly approach fire. He can approach a barking dog even with
smiles. He can climb a height and dare some fearsome things. That was how David
could fearlessly confront Goliath. At that state of mind, David was blind to every risk
and possibility of death. He was only seeing victory and he finally recorded victory.
A child is born without fear. It’s we the adults that unknowingly program fear into
their souls by saying “this is dangerous and that is dangerous”. Of course we do it to
keep them safe but in excess we damage something in them- that 100%
fearlessness/3600 fearlessness. A little child is not afraid of death; after all he doesn’t
even understand the term death.
22
This is also how a child who safely grows into his teens can boldly launch into his
destiny and quickly achieve his dreams. He doesn’t believe he will be poor or as a
lady marry a wretched man or ever end up at the lower rungs of the socio-economic
ladder. A child is sanguine that the future is bright. These are inbuilt abilities God
has programmed into the soul of every child. Train up a child in the way he should
go and when he is old, he will not depart from it (Prov. 22:6). The Holy Spirit is the
revealer of all these truths. Parents should see themselves as caretakers. A king/queen
is given you to nuture and there's a reward if you do the job well. In fact, part of the
divine provisions for the child's upkeep will benefit you alongside. Guide your
children aright such that the spiritual grace and glories upon them will not be lost;
nurture and shape them to fulfill their destiny.
viii. At the sounding of the trumpet little children will be raptured.
An adult’s visa may take some protocols but for a child it’s pretty easier.
We are presently in the era of the Holy Ghost. God the Father has finished the work
of creation after which he sent the Son Jesus who has done the work of redemption,
and handed over to the Holy Ghost who is doing the work of perfection. Any
23
moment the Holy Ghost is through, that will be the sounding of the trumpet (the
second coming of Jesus).
The Holy Spirit is perfecting the church. This is the aim of all the end-time revivals.
If we can allow the Holy Spirit have his full course in our lives and ministries we will
become perfect in Christ. This is the state the church has to attain before rapture, for
Jesus is coming to rapture a church without spot or wrinkle (Eph. 5:27).
God the Father calls us for a relationship. In Isaiah 1:18, the Father says “Come now
and let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as
white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”
How many people relate with the Father? Almost everybody! Even native doctors
claim to call on the Father. So if you only know the Father, the relationship isn't complete
yet. There’s the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Jesus the Son also makes an open invitation to everyone. In Matt. 11:28, He says
“COME unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest”.
How many know the Son? Let’s say Christians know Jesus the Son, but there’s also
the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit also invites everyone to the kingdom. “And the Spirit and the bride
say COME, and let him that heareth say, come. And let him that is thirsty come. And
whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely” (Rev. 22:17).
This is a complete invitation into God’s Kingdom “come, come, come” by the
Father, by the Son and by the Holy Spirit. See you in the kingdom!
However, the question is “How many people relate with the Holy Spirit?
Unfortunately, whereas almost every human (including evil people) claim to know the
father, fewer (Christians) know the son and then even among Christians, some have not
come into koinonia with the Holy Spirit. This is why you can see a believer troubled by
arrows of sicknesses, sorrows, family curses and various limitations. If we can fully yield
to the Holy Spirit, he will deliver us from ourselves (deliverance from self), perfect us
and grant us the power and knowledge to conquer all things.
A believer struggling is because he/she has not yielded fully to the Holy Spirit or is
walking in ignorance. One amazing Bible fact is that God has no business with an
ignorant man “….they will call upon me but I will not answer, because they hated
knowledge…” (Prov. 1:28-29).
Holiness is one of the pillars of God’s power and this is what God has given us as
His signet. With holiness, you can carry God’s signet and will always have dominion
over men with evil powers for they can’t be holy.
There’s this popular saying that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts
absolutely. God has absolute power, yet He is not corrupt. God is Holy indeed.
24
The moment Adam and Eve came to know good and evil, they quickly chose evil and
evil began on earth. Let’s reverence this God who knows all things yet has chosen to be
forever righteous; all through existence He has never sinned, and can never sin. We know
how often we humans have fallen into sin even after confessing them. Umpteen times!
But God has never sinned. God is Holy Indeed and there’s no unrighteousness in Him…”
(Psalm 92:15).
Satan who had been holy for a long time suddenly began to imagine evil and heaven
rejected him. Fear this God who cannot sin. Some angels who had been holy suddenly
gave in to lust and came to have affairs with the fair ladies of the earth. Let’s fear this
God who cannot sin (Gen. 6:2-3).
We forgive but build barriers against our former enemies but God forgives and
forgets (Isaiah 43:25) uncountable times. God is Holy Indeed. He lives in us; we carry
Him and still sin with the life He has given us and He has not slain us. God is Holy
Indeed.
God is so Holy that no eye can see him in His full glory (all His glorious
characteristics) and live because no carnality whatsoever can stand His presence. Our
flesh will have to literally die (zero carnality) so no flesh can behold Him.
God could humble Himself and still pass through the rejected Eli to communicate to
young Samuel. God is Holy Indeed
Some people are highly principled and so don’t tolerate any nonsense from anybody
e.g. lateness, not meeting their agreements etc. but God in His perfect state still carries us
along despite our countless imperfections. God is Holy and loving kind Indeed
Even in creating hell, God is holy. Punishment is very important. It protects the
rights of the innocent while penalizing the guilty. Imagine how the society will be if
there’s no prosecution, no arrest, no cell, no prison. Of course there will be much crimes
without restriction. The fact is that a senior student in a school will respect himself and
not bully a junior student because he knows he will be reported and punished. So you see,
punishment is good, provided it is done lawfully. Rev. 6:9-10 reveals how the blood of
the slain saints was heard crying to God, first, reminding Him of His holiness and then
demanding for justice.
“And they cried with a loud voice saying, how long O Lord, holy and true, dost thou
not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?” (Rev. 6:10).
God is of a purer eyes than to behold iniquity/evil (Hab. 1:13). You can see why
pornography is terrible. It involves beholding iniquity. We must be holy. 1Peter 1:15 says
“But as He which has called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation.”
Many people desire to be perfect in holiness but it is as though the more they try the
less they succeed. Let’s peruse God’s word and see how perfection is possible. In Matt.
25
5:48, Jesus charges us to be perfect like God. This means perfection is possible!
Remember Jesus will rapture a church without spot and without wrinkle which means a
perfect church (Eph. 5:27) and you and I are the church, not the cathedral. So, if someone
says perfection is not possible, the person is saying that no one will be raptured. But God
forbid that!
Apostle Paul in Heb. 6:1-2 tells us to conquer the elementary doctrines and graduate
to perfection but unfortunately, the church has been marking time on the elementary
doctrines over 2000 years ago that Jesus came. The elementary doctrines which are 6 in
number (like our primary schools which also have 6 classes) are as follows:
1. Repentance from dead works
The church still repents every day, confessing the same sin and still returning to our
vomit… Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? God forbid! (Rom. 6:1).
Ought not we to have conquered these elementary doctrines over these 2000 years
Jesus had come?
2. Faith towards God
We are still learning to have faith and trust/ believe God fully. Some are still in doubt
concerning God and His word. Our lives often show that we are not fully convinced.
Evil people even serve their devil more practically than some of us serve our God.
Some are still in doubt as to the realities of heaven and hell. We need to perfect faith.
3. The doctrine of baptisms: Which we are still dealing with.
4. Laying on of hands
Some people after being delivered will still mingle with sin, become repossessed and
come again for another touch of deliverance.
5. The resurrection of the dead and
6. Eternal judgment which we are still teaching and some are still confused about it.
According to the Scriptures:
a. There is no purgatory (Heb. 9:27)
b. Sinners who are dead are presently in Hell.
Believers who have passed on are presently in paradise waiting for us their
brethren to join them at rapture and we will all enter our mansions in heaven.
Today, by the Holy Spirit, you and I can be perfect- presented faultless before God
(Jude 24) not by our works though, but by the righteousness of Jesus conferred on all that
believe; Jesus being the only one that can place the seal of mercy on a human. Not by our
works, lest any man should boast (Eph. 2:8-9). Righteousness is a gift only Jesus can give
(Rom. 5:17). Our duty is just to believe and follow The Master. Have faith! Unbelief can
lead to hell. “…but the fearful and unbelieving and the abominable and murderers and
whoremongers and sorcerers and idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake
which burns with fire and brimstone: which is the second death” Rev. 21:8.
26
Some people say it’s just a mere death (second death), but don’t forget that when
God speaks of death it’s higher than our idea of death. This was how the devil confused
Adam and Eve. God had said they would die if they eat of the forbidden fruit. The devil
told them they won’t really die (physically drop dead), but he the devil knew they would
eternally be cut off from God. So when God speaks of death its higher and more terrible
because He is a spirit, when He says death it’s higher than our mortal perspective can
fathom.
Human Beings Called Perfect
1. Job:-In Job 1:1 the Scripture in black and white called Job a perfect man. “There was
a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job and that man was PERFECT and
upright and one that feared God and eschewed evil.”
2. Zechariah and Elizabeth: - In Luke 1:5-6 we see a perfect couple who the Bible says
walked in all the commandments of God blameless.
3. Noah:- Gen 6:9 found grace in the sight of God and he was just and PERFECT
4. Living Believers: - Apostle Paul in his epistles will always call living believers
SAINTS. He will say, “Greet the SAINTS in Ephesus, greet the SAINTS in
Colossae.” And these were living believers (Phil 1:1, Eph. 1:1, Phil. 4:22, Heb. 13:24,
Col. 1:2, Psalm 16.3). So who says perfection is not possible?
Good news! Every sin has been conquered by someone. Some people will never
smoke. There are some that are 100% free from stealing. Some folks will never tell lies.
They believe nobody will slap them for saying the truth. Some of those people are even
unbelievers. Some people are free from lust. Some have conquered pride, malice,
mention them. I want to announce that one person can conquer all. Just like one person
can possess the 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit. May God transform us and make us perfect in
Jesus name, Amen.
When God instructed Adam not to eat the forbidden fruit, He gave Adam some
keys/principles that should help him to be perfect.
1. God told Adam that the day he eats of the forbidden fruit, he will surely die. This was
also to make Adam see sin as death. Sin is a platform through which destines are
lost/manipulated. Righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach to any people
(Prov. 14:34).
Sin is equal to death. Something happened in the family of Jacob. The Bible says that
Jacob had 12 sons. The anointing of greatness was upon Reuben the first son but he
lost it by sleeping with his father’s concubine- an abomination (Gen. 35:22). Reuben
received a curse instead of a blessing. The anointing of greatness left Reuben and
came upon Judah another son among the twelve. Judah also lost it by sleeping with a
harlot in the person of his daughter in law- an abomination also (Gen. 38:14-18).
Before that incidence, the harlot collected 3 significant things from Judah: his staff,
his bracelet and his signet –which were symbols of authority. Judah therefore lost the
anointing and the anointing came upon Joseph another son in that family. The same
temptation of sexual immorality in that family was pursuing Joseph about, still on the
platform of an abominable sin (to sleep with a married woman -Portipher’s wife). But
Joseph was wise! Joseph feared God and refused to make the mistake of his brethren.
Finally, Joseph became the great man and carried others on his shoulders.
Every family has a Joseph; a great man/woman that will carry others along. Every
family also has a Levite; a spiritual vessel that will watch over others. You as a Levite
will tell your people, “let’s fast and pray today, I sense something in the realm of the
spirit.” You can be the Joseph of your family; you can be the Levite of your family.
Terrible sins were all what the enemy presented to Jacob’s sons.
Reuben – was tempted to sleep with his father’s concubine (an abomination) (Lev.
18:8)
Judah – was tempted to sleep with his daughter in law (an abomination too) (Lev.
18:6)
Joseph – was tempted to sleep with a married woman (an abomination) (Lev.18:20)
If we can see sin as death/never consider any benefit in sin, we will be seeing from God’s
vistas and keep holy. Any voice that reveals a pleasure/benefit in sin is the devil. The
devil told Adam he will not really die. He also told him that eating the fruit will make
him be like God. Adam did not know that he was already like God; created in God’s
image.
28
According to Finette Dake’s commentary, the devil’s tricks were presented to Eve in a
way that her suspicion would not be awakened, and that her moral sense should not be
shocked. The devil just gave a sly insinuation calculated to excite a natural curiosity,
“Has God said that you shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” (Gen. 3:1). Finally the
devil told a direct lie combined with just enough truth to give it plausibility.
Sin is equal to death. If we see sin as death/ see the dangers of it, we will not sin.
2. God told Adam to keep a distance from that forbidden tree. Gen. 3:3 says, “But of the
fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, “ye shall not eat of
it neither shall ye touch it lest ye die.”
We must keep a distance from sin. What does a child of God have to do in a night club,
for instance? God says we should keep a distance. One carrying God is like one on white
apparel. He must be mindful of where he sits so as not to get stained. Remember that
friendship with the world is enmity with God (James 4:4). Avoid bad associations. The
Scripture enjoins us to abstain from all appearance of evil (1Thes. 5:22). Hab. 1:13 says
God is of a purer eyes than to behold iniquity, so defilement can make one
invisible/separated from the eyes of God who should watch over us.
Our Lord Jesus also gave some principles that will help us become perfect. While
giving the Sermon on the Mount in the book of Matthew Chapters 5, 6 and 7, Jesus said,
“You have heard that thou shall not kill but I tell you he that gets angry with his brother
without a cause is already guilty of murder” (Matt. 5:21-22). Jesus also said that we have
heard we should not commit adultery but whoever looks at a woman lustfully has already
committed adultery. What was Jesus saying? Jesus was giving the church a powerful
principle of perfection -that for us to conquer murder we should conquer anger. To
conquer adultery, conquer lust. In order not to steal, don’t covet/ desire another man’s
property. No negative mood; no sin. James 1:14 reveals that we are tempted when we get
carried away by our lust and become enticed.
One sure way to perfection is to work on our minds, thoughts and moods. Remember
that these are real in the spirit realm and God searches the heart.
Avoid anger, lust, bitterness, malice, greed, selfishness, fear, worry/anxiety etc. Of
course, the Bible is against each and every negative mood and many arrows are shot
when one is in a bad mood. If, for instance, the spirit of death is sent against a person,
that spirit will only be hovering around waiting for an opportunity to strike. e.g. when the
person goes into iniquity or a negative mood. Should the person refuse to sin and
successfully conquer negative moods, that demon’s time will expire and it will vanish.
Provided there's no loop hole or broken hedge, the enemy cannot strike. Always ask for
mercy. As you journey with God he increases your sensitivity. Anytime danger lurks
around you will know. God may teach you a unique sign on your physical body. You will
just know and stand to quench the fiery darts of the evil one. Overcome self and stand
right with your Father. Remember, the number one deliverance is deliverance from self.
God will deliver you from yourself and then you will be broken for His use.
29
If something frightful wants to happen to a believer, let’s say in a bush a lion shows
up, the spirit of faith will take over the believer. Guess what! The believer becomes
unusually calm and flees. He can leap over a wall, he can use his hands to break iron and
the pain of bleeding will not be felt at that moment. When something frightening
happens, one's senses will become hyperactive. e.g. a little boy walking with his father
into a dark room can say “I saw something here now; it touched me now. Miracles
happen when the spirit of faith possesses a believer who is faced by a
threatening/dangerous situation. It’s in the aftermath the person can feel little pains and
wonder how he leaped over a wall, miraculously escaped etc. So fear not, you are well
equipped by God.
The teachings of Jesus will not only make us perfect but will also make us healthy.
Joy/faith can provoke healing. In the hospital, if a patient strongly believes that he won’t
die, his body will respond to treatment faster. Doctors know this principle. A doctor will
always reassure a patient that he will be well. What is the doctor doing? The doctor is
boosting faith. He will always welcome a patient with a smile even when others are
running away from the patient’s wounded body. There in the hospitals there are
televisions for people to feel happy.
It might interest you to know that God designed the body to heal itself. If one is sick
as a result of much stress, during that sickness the person will be so tired that he will
automatically be confined to his bed. By that automatic rest, the sick person will recover.
If one has a dislocation, the orthopedic will apply some balms and bandage to help the
person’s bones to recover over the weeks. They will administer some drugs and place the
person on some diet that will help his system to put itself together and recover by itself
over time. A playing child got injured and began to cry. After some minutes of crying,
the pain ceased. What happened? By that crying process, the body released pain-killer
hormones. The wound was still there but the pain/ bleeding had stopped and the wound
will heal over time. Drugs actually awaken our immune system to do its work of fighting
diseases. Doctors have revealed that there is a hydrochloric acid in the stomach. God put
it there to kill any bacterium in our food. It’s when the bacteria are much that the person
will have stomach ache. If your sickness is due to excessive oily food, you will lose
appetite for all oily foods during that sickness and by switching to some fruits and
veggies you will recover. The animals we keep as pets will always fast when they fall
sick and by refusing to eat (fasting) they will recover. If you have any cut on your skin
and you avoid bacterial infection your skin will heal itself.
Some fall sick because of insufficient water intake (dehydration), no wonder when
one is taken to a hospital the medical personnel will always put drip (rehydration plus
drugs).
The saliva in our mouth washes our mouth and teeth. This is why after chewing gum
our breath freshens. It’s the salivation process that did the trick. One of the reasons a
dog’s teeth is always neat is because a dog always salivates. Some old men in the village
30
will just put chewing stick in their mouths and go for morning meeting. For about one
hour they will be salivating and spitting and their dental health is sustained.
Our sweats also wash the skin. For a neat skin, exercise vigorously in the morning
such that you sweat thoroughly and then take your bath, you will be refreshed. I have a
friend who doesn’t use perfume. He plays football regularly and his regular sweating
washes his skin such that after bathing his body becomes very neat.
When man was cast out of the Garden of Eden many things changed. God driving
man out was still an act of love though, for if God had allowed man to remain in the
garden after sin, Bible scholars say that man would have gone back to eat of the tree of
life and become immortalized in his fallen state. This would have made man take the
form of demons and then man’s salvation would have been impossible. But God in His
everlasting kindness drove man out of the Garden and began to make plans to send Jesus
our redeemer. What a loving kind God! When man left the garden, a pronouncement was
made that he would begin to till the ground. This was because we came into the animal
terrain/animal environment (desert). We are supposed to be in the Garden of Eden. God’s
end-time General Evangelist Goodness Joseph reveals this. What grows here is grass,
which is true. Our rice and beans will not grow here. In fact we need to use chemicals
(fertilizer) to sustain our crops. Have you ever wondered why weeds are often
irresistible? You didn’t plant them yet they grow. You apply fertilizer to your crops yet
the weeds without fertilizer grow faster irrespective of any harsh treatment/harsh weather.
How many times have we seen animals going to farm? They are in their God-ordained
environment and therefore their foods grow by themselves and very fast. There are more
animals than human beings numerically worldwide. Only the fishes in the oceans, which
have been proven to be more than land, are very numerous; and these fishes lay eggs in
millions. What about the ants? In fact from creation God created many animals and then
just one man and one woman. How many times have we seen animals going to hospital?
When we say God made the body to heal itself, it is obvious in animals. Some animals
don’t just die- during old age snakes come out of their old skin and renew their youth.
Eagles during their old age go to high mountains remove their old feathers, grow new
ones and renew their youth. When man newly came out of the garden, by the effects of
the God-given fruits eaten in the garden man could live up to 900 years and more.
Animals have not committed sin. Of all physical creation, it’s only man that deviated, the
Sun still shines by day and the moon by night as God programmed them. Man who has
the choice of will abuse it. For the animals, inside their God-given foods are their
antibiotics (not chemical/synthesized foods). A goat can eat bitter leaf comfortably not
minding the bitterness. A rabbit, for instance, will go to one herb and eat only few leaves.
It will leave the remnant and go looking for another variety, by the end of the day that
rabbit has eaten about seven different herbs some of which are medicinal. But some
human beings will eat like rice in the morning, bread and soft drink in the afternoon and
garri in the evening. If we are ready, the Holy Spirit will guide us on what to buy and eat
31
and what not to. When man was in the garden, he needed not plant anything. All things
were available on a platter; at man’s call and beckon. Have you also wondered why
animals don’t wear clothes and yet they don’t look naked? Why? They have not
committed sin. Their natural clothes are still on them. Animals' skin (their God-given
clothes) don't need washing. It's also both a sweater and a light cloth according to any
given weather. This is such that they do not complain of cold during a cold weather or
sweat during a sunny weather. It's even we humans that complain. Also, their God-given
food doesn't need cooking or parboiling. No stress whatsoever! Sin actually brought
suffering to man. However, in all things Christ Jesus has restored us; only believe.
In continuation of our study on moods, when you are in a positive mood, e.g. Joy,
love for others, mercy, worship etc. God’s voice speaks loudly in you because you are in
His corridors. For instance, when worship is going on in church and you connect to the
Spirit, God can begin to remind you why you need to resume a personal worship/
covenant you once had with Him. God opens your eyes to all that the enemy had
devoured since you stopped.
Conversely, when one is in a negative mood e.g. anger, worry, fear etc. the devil
speaks loudly. E.g. when you are pondering on someone’s wrong and getting angry/bitter,
the devil can tell you how to make quarrels. He can tell you to stop every help you have
been rendering to that fellow that provoked you. Moreover, as the devil speaks your
anger/ rage intensifies. A man in a bad mood is in the corridors of darkness and will hear
from unclean spirits. It’s safe to be with God.
God speaks to you. A certain woman was speaking with a prophet and she said that
one heart told her to ‘do this’ and another heart told her to ‘do that’ and she was
confused. So she had to come to the prophet to be clarified. The prophet smiled and asked
her, “Woman! How many hearts do you have?” You said one heart told you to do this
and another heart told you to do that. The prophet explained that those things the woman
called 'hearts' were spirits either from God or from satan.
Let’s say this is Sunday morning and your pastor had said that today is fasting and
prayer, but you forgot; about to enter your kitchen. A voice will remind you the fasting
and then you exclaim, “Oh! It’s true! We have fasting and prayer today!” Now that
person that exclaimed and said, “Oh it’s true, is your soul but the voice that first spoke to
remind you of the fasting was from God.
So, God speaks to you. Thoughts are spirits. God can speak through many channels
e.g. through your guardian angel, conscience, a spirit of mercy, love or diligence etc. E.g.
when someone around you is faced by a difficult situation and you feel pity, you have
just entered a godly mood and the spirit of mercy which is from God’s side will direct
you on how to help. God can tell you to use so and so money you kept. How do you think
people come out for alter calls in church or to sow a seed to meet a need in God’s house?
A voice from God spoke to them. On the other hand, people commit suicide after the
devil has convinced them.
32
Just learn to always be in positive moods and calm your soul and you will hear God
clearly. Somebody who is coveting another person’s property in the process of looking
covetously at the other man’s property will receive directions from the spirit of stealing
which is from the devil’s side. The spirit will tell the thief when to make a move while
everybody is absent or off guard. You shall resist that enemy.
18. ANGER
The Scripture in Eph. 4:26 says in our anger we should not sin. Ecc. 7:9 says we
should not be hasty in our spirit to be angry for anger rests in the bosom of fools.
As much as we can, let’s avoid getting angry. I should correct that child without
anger. I should direct the anger to the misconduct and still love the person. This means
that anger should not be over stretched and we should mind the direction. Transfer of
aggression is not for a mature mind. Even when angry/hurt, one should still do the
needful, manifest courtesy and show love. If one’s anger will not permit him to pray, it’s
a negative anger. Inasmuch as one is angry, he should still greet people/respond to
greetings; help someone in need and respond positively to any kind/goodly gesture from
the offender. By so doing, the anger will be controlled and have a positive end. The
Scripture commands us to bring back even our enemy’s straying donkey (Exo. 23:4).
Sometimes we win an argument but lose the person. For instance, if I argue with
someone over a little gain and take it. Should that person feel cheated I’ve lost him. He
may not patronize me again. He may count me as being greedy etc. it’s even better to lose
the little gain but win the person (the person’s heart).
If in my anger I can still pray, worship, do what is right and even respond positively
to any kind gesture from my offender (e.g. compliment or asking for peace), then God
will come in and correct the offence and my offender seeing God in me will come to
bow to me. Try it and see. Sometimes your offender will get into trouble and not even
have the face to solicit your help. You make the move and help him and you will win his
absolute submission.
Hitler and so many others conquered with weapons but Jesus conquered with love.
Guess what! Christianity still prevails. No other religion is more persecuted than
Christianity yet it prevails. Some religions are not even persecuted in any way but Jesus
our Saviour reigns forever. He is the mercy of God Personified. Alleluia!
If a person refuses to apply God’s control measures over anger, demons can brood on
it and such anger/rage can produce destruction, fight, rancor, murder or even suicide. The
word of God contains principles of excellent living for all.
33
When there is no evidence of misconduct let's count people right. For instance, a
person comes late, rather than quarrelling with the fellow, I can take it that some
unforeseen circumstances had hindered him. This will keep me from condemning the
person and he/she will turn out better subsequently. People wouldn’t want to hurt
someone who trusts them and shows them kindness on that premise of trust. They will
always try to measure up. One man mistakenly did something that would annoy the wife
and this man was afraid of going home. Why? It’s not as though the wife could beat him
up, but he wouldn’t want to hurt his wife who trusts him, celebrates him and showers
love on him.
When for instance, someone always chooses you when going for a presentation and
then suddenly chooses another person instead of you, you have two alternatives:
i. To quarrel with him and show him how unhappy you are. This however, may not
change the person’s mind.
ii. To give him the benefit of doubt. Assume that you had not upgraded your skills; in
fact, assume that you had embarrassed him in the last presentation. In this spirit,
you will buckle up, upgrade your skills and guess what? The same person or may
be some other person will come for you seeing your greater competence. You will
be happier this time.
Solution is often dual headed. In a music group (band) for instance, should a lead singer
go off key or off beat, two alternatives are available:
i. For the keyboardist/drummer (instrumentalists) to start calling the singer’s
attention to come back to the original key/ realign with the beat, after all, he was
the one that veered off alignment.
ii. For the band to smoothly change to the singer’s new key/beat.
Now, the second is much better as it will be smooth and successful. Later, the band can
correct/advise the singer.
The first will likely cause distraction by the time the band starts calling the singer to
come back to the original key and besides, all the audience will come to understand that
there’s a mistake. Moreover, the singer who is called back to key this way may not still
be able to smoothly correct himself/herself because of the intertwine with embarrassment.
Let me say I'm the drummer and I embarrassed the lead singer this way, I may think I
have justified myself in the sight of the audience by proving to them the very person that
made the mistake. But, I have also told the audience that we the band are not organized.
So, in trying to embarrass a fellow, I'm revealing my own nakedness, but in covering up a
fellow in love, I'm covering my own nakedness somewhere.
If you are working in a place for instance, and going for salary increment does not
seem to work, you have an alternative to upgrade your skills such that your employer will
have no option than to promote you since he wouldn’t want to lose you. You can also
resign honorably.
34
One out of these 3 R's must happen to an employee: Resignation, Retrenchment or
Retirement.
Our Lord Jesus Christ was tempted in the 3 ways everybody will be tempted. In
Matt. 4:1-11 the tempter used his various strategies to tempt Jesus; the lust of the flesh,
the lust of the eyes and the pride of life (1 John 2:16).
First, he said, “If you are the son of God, command these stones to become bread.”
Jesus was tempted to dance to the tune of the flesh. He was tempted through one of the
fleshly desires - hunger. The Scripture says Jesus was hungry having fasted 40days and
40nights. The devil laid hold on the desire of the flesh -hunger, and tempted Jesus. Many
desires of the flesh are evil and the devil will always come through the flesh.
Second, the devil asked Jesus to throw himself down from the temple pinnacle
assuring him that God will bear him up with his angels. Jesus was tempted to abuse the
grace of God. That God would bear him up does not mean he should throw himself down.
That God will forgive our sins or that the grace of God still speaks does not mean we
should intentionally go into sin. It’s an abuse of the grace. Our Lord Jesus, our perfect
example, did not abuse the grace.
Thirdly, the tempter showed Jesus the wealth, kingdoms and powers on earth
promising to give Jesus these powers on earth if he would bow down and worship him.
The spirit realm is governed by laws. For instance, in the realm of the spirit, everything
lies bare -no secret. Even our thoughts are audible. Remember, in this kingdom we have
several keys. Jesus says I give unto you the keys of the kingdom. At this point, Jesus
rebuked the devil to get behind him. Beloved! Jesus was offered pleasurable /desirable
things and then was asked to bow down to get them. The devil uses this same strategy
today. He sees someone looking for admission and somebody says he will sleep with her
first before she can get the admission. The devil comes to a young man seeking wealth
and somebody says he will connect him to a lucrative business but he will go for charms
first or be initiated into their cult first. The devil comes to a lady seeking marriage and
somebody says he will marry her but he will be sleeping with her before meeting her
parents.
Guess what! Everything the devil presented to Jesus to entice him to bow down, our
Lord Jesus still got them all through the cross, which was how God had predestined it for
Jesus. What wealth does Jesus not have? He makes people wealthy day by day. What
power does Jesus not control? Phil. 2:9-11 says, “Wherefore God has highly exalted him
and given him a name above every other name that at the mention of the name Jesus
35
every knee shall bow, both in heaven, on earth and beneath, and every tongue must
confess the Lordship of Jesus.” Alleluia.
I prophesy that by the integrity of God’s word, everything the devil offered you and
you rejected it because it came on a platform of sin, God will give it back to you in seven
folds by His awesome power. When the devil offers you any “goodie” know that such a
blessing is already in your destiny. Refuse the devil’s offer and get God’s eternal riches.
When the enemy offers you a chicken, look well he wants to deny you a cow.
A certain man received a prophecy that God will give him a car. After few days some
hundreds of thousands misplaced by somebody came into his hands. The devil quickly
reminded him of the prophecy and asked him to go and buy a car. He refused and gave
the money back to the owner who thanked him but did not give him any money. After
few weeks he got a brand new car. Now listen if he had bought the car with that person’s
money, I’m sure it would be a second handed car and who knows what problems that will
come from it seeing it is a stolen money. Besides, the owner would cry and the crying
will certainly call on nature for vengeance. God’s gifts are better.
A certain lady was in a relationship with a wealthy young man. As the relationship
advanced, the young man invited the lady to Lagos where he was living. The lady before
going for the visit went to her pastor who prayed for her, counseled her to go with enough
money for her transport fare to and fro and not have to depend on the fiancé and also the
Pastor reminded the lady to maintain her virtue.
On getting there, the young man wanted to sleep with the lady but she refused, he
called it quits and asked the lady to return to her place. He didn’t even give the lady a
dime for transportation. The lady felt that her hopes had been dashed because she had
been rejoicing that she would soon be wedded. It was as though refusing to sin had
cancelled her blessing. But it didn’t take long, her God ordained husband came and
quickly married her. While testifying, she shed tears of joy in God’s presence telling
God’s people how this God-sent husband loves her deeply. God’s blessings remain the
best.
As we know, the spiritual governs the physical. Some spiritual laws sound ironical
when viewed from the carnal perspective, but remember that spiritual things are
spiritually discerned and a carnal man cannot understand the things of the spirit (1Cor.
2:14). Some of such ironies are:
1. It’s more blessed to give than to receive (Acts 20:35). Now to a carnal man, this may
sound ridiculous, but the Bible does talk about he that scattereth and yet increaseth.
(Prov. 11:24). By giving you win people over, they will come to willingly serve
you/trust you with their lives. Notice that if you refuse to revenge but show mercy to a
person that hurts you; repay him good for his evil even beyond his expectation and to
36
his surprise. You win him for life. He becomes your servant on seeing God his creator
in you. For no one can resist the Almighty. The scripture works wonders!
2. Mercy is mightier than revenge.
3. To harvest you sow
4. To be exalted you humble yourself for the way up is down
5. To live you die
You die to self and live for Jesus. The likes of Moses that lived for God, achieving
God’s will for his people walked in the heights and various dimensions of power.
Jesus came to die yet he lives forever and gives us eternal life too. Funnily enough,
many leaders came to live but they still died. But here is Jesus that came to die yet he
lives eternally.
There is power in the teachings of Jesus especially those ones that sound 'ironical’
from a carnal/natural perspective.
E.g. repay good for evil
Bless your enemies (Matt. Chapter 5, 6 and 7 -Sermon on the Mount). Only
practice them with all your heart (faith) and see mysterious power. For instance, giving
can make you so happy that you decide to go hungry so as to meet other people’s need
and guess what? Giving releases the grace, motivation and good fortune for you to pursue
and get higher wealth just to meet more needs. Try it!
Great business tycoons earnestly try to meet their customers’ needs and guess what?
By serving people and satisfying customers, the returns run into millions and billions and
you see yourself soaring in wealth.
One of the principles of giving is that your giving should provoke joy in the receiver.
Once this happens, grace is released because the person’s soul is gladened. Isaac
demanded venison from Esau (Gen. 27:3-4). Never give something that the receiver can
dare to reject. The secret is this! Give people gifts based on their need, heart desire and
dream not their present predicament. Don’t because somebody wears second-handed
clothes you buy the person second-handed clothes. No! He wears it because he could not
afford a new one. Buy him a new one beyond his present predicament and he will be
joyful.
6. Most destiny helpers may be annoying because they will always speak the bitter truth.
Don’t run away/avoid someone that tells you the bitter truth or how weak you are and
why you must change, he may be your destiny helper. On the other hand, people that
always smile at you without pin pointing your faults and asking you to change may be
destiny killers. Even a mother eagle will try to starve her young ones so that hunger
will motivate them to fly. A certain teacher was very harsh to a student because he the
teacher wanted to draw out the best in that student. The student in his little
understanding thought the teacher hated him, but in the long run, he came to like the
teacher. The teacher would always check on him and monitor him. He would flog him
when he failed his assignments. Today, the young man is working in a bank and does
37
not stop blessing that teacher that made him to sit up. Naaman almost missed his
miracle not knowing that Elisha whom he taught had treated him with disdain was his
destiny helper (2Kings 5:9-14).
Many young men that made it today made it because somebody mocked them or
mocked their future or may be mocked their family saying that nothing good would come
out of them. Permit me to say that those were their destiny helpers in enemies' clothing.
Their statement provoked seriousness in those people. Please, be satisfied and work with
people who always find faults or are not satisfied with your works. Broaden your mind to
work with different types of people. You will learn a lot from it. There’s an assignment
such people have in your life. In John 11 when Jesus came to visit Lazarus’ brethren
something happened. Most times, the person that rushes first to welcome you in a new
place with smiles is not your destiny helper. This is ironical but often true. Your destiny
helper will greet you with some suspicion trying to know the kind of person you are
before he/she can open up and bless you or be the instrument/link to your desired
blessing. In that John 1:20, Martha first rushed to welcome Jesus while Mary sat still.
Later, there was a sudden change -the same Martha manifested wrong spirits. E.g. when
in John 11:23 Jesus said that Lazarus would rise, Martha replied that it would be in the
resurrection morning. Also when asked to open the grave (John 11:39) Martha still
opposed by saying that Lazarus would be stinking. Thank God Jesus ignored those. We
need to be sensitive. Some blessings are wrapped up in unattractive wares! To be
spiritually minded is life and peace. Sometimes the spouse you are to choose may fall
below your laid down standards. We simply need the Holy Spirit!
In the New Testament, our Lord Jesus counted two “unbelievers” (Gentiles) as
having great faith whereas the then believers were not given such credit; let’s see why.
In Matt. 8:5-13 the centurion who was not a Jew manifested great faith. Also, in
Matt.15:22-28 the Canaanite woman manifested great faith to the point that she accepted
to be like a dog that would feed on the children’s crumbs.
=> The Centurion and the Canaanite woman in their various cases came with the
mindset that they were unqualified/ unworthy (Asking for mercy is the key). The
Centurion declared that he was not worthy to have Jesus under his roof, the Canaanite
woman accepted to get the children’s crumbs like dogs would do. You know Zacchaeus
saw himself as being unworthy and our master Jesus also bypassed the crowd and located
him -Luke 19.
Never approach God with pride/much demand, come as an unqualified fellow. How
do you feel when Mr. A asks you to buy him this plus that, plus the other one; compared
with Mr. B who asks you to buy anything you wish? Humility matters when approaching
the Almighty. However, this does not in any way mean that you should accept any
38
accusation from the enemy. We are to come BOLDLY to the throne of grace to obtain
MERCY (Heb. 4:16) - pride is the problem not boldness. It's a balance between humility
and confidence. Approach the king in such a way that even if He doesn't grant your
request, He is still deserving of all worship.
Naaman who came to Prophet Elisha with swag/shoulders high in 2 Kings chapter 5,
had to first be humbled and broken by:
The prophet not even coming out to attend to him but sending Gehazi his
servant.
Asking him to wash in a “not so clean” river. (God resists the proud)
We must ask for mercy. Two prayer topics the Almighty does not resist are (i) prayer for
mercy (ii) praise and worship
A certain man of God committed an error and was thrown out by his church. A day came
up when the guest speaker for the church crusade disappointed and the church had to call
that man of God who had been cast out to come and minister. The man of God had early
on asked for pardon but was still thrown out. Moreover, after being thrown out he had not
ceased to cry to God for mercy. Guess what? In the crusade, he began to sing with a
crying heart and miracles began to happen. He learnt it as a lesson and would always ask
for mercy in his ministrations. Today, he is one of God’s Generals all over the globe.
Always ask for mercy with a humble approach. God sees your great faith in His
sovereignty!
23. HEALTH
We fall sick primarily because of (a) what we eat and what we refuse to eat (b) what
we do and what we refuse to do
Most of the fries and meals we consume weaken our body systems. It takes discipline
to adhere to fruits and veggies.
In Lev. 7:23-27 God specifically said the Israelites should not eat any manner of
fat/blood and the penalty was death. No wonder wrong nutrition over the years is a
chief cause of chronic diseases. Moses at 120 was still strong and his eyes were not
dim (Deut 34:7) of course he kept these laws, he being the one through whom God
gave the laws. Bible scholars include Moses’ keeping of God’s commandments and
staying in God’s presence as one of the reasons for his excellent health up to 120. He
could climb a mountain at 120. Discipline is the key. Medical sciences tell us that
men’s bodies (not boys) produce cholesterol so why will a man still be eating much
eggs when a doctor tells him to eat less of it.
God designed the body to heal itself naturally. Man had lost part of this when he
sinned but Jesus has restored us. He received 39 strokes of cane and diseases are under 39
classes. There are thousands of diseases but they are under 39 classes and Jesus received
39 strokes of cane, therefore by His stripes we were healed (1Pet. 2:24).
39
Animals rarely fall sick. Some of the diseases they carry without harm become
terrible viruses when contracted by humans. For instance, when man committed the
abomination of sleeping with an animal, the disease contracted was tagged incurable.
Now animals drink dirty water, sleep in the very cold open field and yet live healthy.
Why? Their natural (God given) immunity is speaking for them. As they feed on herbs
most of which are antibiotics they live healthy.
You and I have a higher immunity. Resist the spirit of sickness and you will be
healed even with water.
We know that God designed our body to heal itself.
Know the foods you're allergic to and go for alternatives. Each blood group has
natural food preferences, allergies and all of those. Find out yours and apply wisdom.
God provides seasonal fruits to maintain people’s health according to the sickness at a
given time. In other words, seasonal fruits protect against the disease of the given
season.
In the wilderness, God’s people (Israel) ate angels’ food (manna) which was of course
devoid of unclean things. They were indeed healthy for God kept them (Neh. 9:21).
Good health is your portion in Christ Jesus.
As said earlier, our body fluids cleanse us as designed by God. - The saliva, sweat
and tears. Shedding tears washes the eyes. You are indeed wonderfully and fearfully
made by God. (Psalm. 139:14). When one is injured he cries. You know what? Crying
is pleasurable. Children know better. It sounds ironical. No wonder in the heights of
joy we shed tears. Crying releases some enzymes/hormones that reduce pain (pain-
killer hormones) -much pain; higher cry. Crying also launches one into the spirit
realm. In the heights of that realm, miracles are created. Inspirations come and even
pain vanishes.
24. FEAR/FAITH
There’s power in the soul. One boy was so tired he could not get up to take his bath or
even eat food, but when they told him that a snake had crept into the room, he quickly
jerked himself up. Now the question is: where is this new strength coming from? There’s
extra ability, speed, endurance, miraculous escape and wonders when one enters the faith
realm. In the face of threats God takes over you and you enter the faith realm and you
miraculously escape. Faith is powerful. A certain boy of about 5years fell sick and after a
long period of illness the boy became crippled. The sickness had gone but the boy could
40
not walk again. He was then crawling day by day, week by week. A time came his foster
father who was also a Gospel minister came back from church service and got provoked
over the boy’s condition. The minister/ foster father having gotten enough doze of the
word of faith in God’s presence began to shout “this boy must walk today; you must walk
today.” In the same spirit, everybody in the compound joined him to say the boy must
walk. He the minister held the boy up and started dragging him around for a walk, praise
God! The boy’s leg received strength and he began to walk again. That boy is a man
today.
Always have faith in God’s infinite abilities and fear not. By meditating on God’s
word over a situation, your faith can increase and you suddenly swing into action to do
the seemingly impossible. For instance, you want to preach in a gathering and it seems
there’s no courage to start. Just keep silent (no wandering look; keep your face calm and
be still) start thinking, for instance, about God, about the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross
and how the Apostles boldly took the Gospel across the globe, you will not know when
you shout praise God and start the evangelism. Meditation is a powerful tool.
Again, whenever it is difficult to take a decision; the options looking confusing, it’s
because of the realm you are (a low realm) pray, worship and meditate and you will
suddenly enter a high platform that will reveal the truth, clear the doubt/confusion and
give you a clear direction.
If we see the abundant blessings God’s word holds for us believers and see how far
behind many are today, we will weep daily.
God has not left us empty. Angels do visit the earth from time to time. They come
like humans and after accomplishing their assignments they disappear. Many have been
rescued from kidnappers by angels. A pastor’s car engine knocked down and he had no
money to get a new one. Suddenly a young man approached him, told him he could fix
the knocked engine. He quickly allowed him and after the work he charged him nothing.
This is but a light case. Angels often do not reveal their identity for some reasons, except
when God permits. For instance, a believer at the point of death like Peter in prison
sleeping between two soldiers saw an angel wake him up (Acts. 12:7). In a trance mood
also (your body/ the flesh being very down) you can see an angel minister to you. You
got the key now. Keep the flesh down and raise your spirit and you access the
supernatural.
Angels are against bad moods- doubt, fear, unbelief etc. if you conquer these moods,
they wouldn’t mind revealing their identities. Angels are indeed against bad moods E.g.
Zacharaiah who manifested doubt was struck dumb. Some people will flee when angels
in God’s glorious endowments appear before them. But someone at the point of death
will not fear or doubt because he is already expecting an angel to come and wouldn’t
mind holding the angel hand in hand to escape.
There’s power in near-death experiences. Soldiers train to the point of near death and
that is one of the secrets of their courage and doggedness. In fact, in the course of their
41
training some die. A real soldier will carry injury and still be fighting and beforehand he
will over power the enemy. He draws strength from the soul. Remember, we are soldiers
of the cross. A man of God who goes near death also carries power. There are some
fasting and prayers that will take you out of the physical realm. You can’t touch that
height and remain the same.
However, be very mindful of fasting –your moods, thoughts and activities while on
fast are very delicate. Many have deviated from God’s kingdom through fasting.
Ironically, such deviated souls are still in the church even as prophets but have been
possessed by religious spirits (bigotry). It’s better to be indoors praying, worshipping
God, studying the scriptures and meditating while fasting. It’s better to be indoors on a 3
hour fast and prayers than a whole day fast mingling and relating with different people
and places. PLEASE BEWARE!
Man is a spiritual being. Before any negative occurrence, you must sense it when it’s
in the spirit realm. Your ability to combat and defeat it prayerfully will avert that mishap
or if it must happen, God will intervene and there will be no harm.
For instance, in the face of death/assassins, one will become beclouded by thoughts
of death. Jesus felt it at the Garden of Gethsemane when the scribes were on their way
coming to arrest him. He accepted to die for us. If he didn’t want to die he had the power
to prayerful combat and avert the death or even escape physically before his accusers
would arrive. You as a believer will not die unless you accept. Even before any close
relative should die, God will reveal it to you to say Yes or No. Alleluia! Prayer has
timing. It can be late to pray. For instance, after Jesus asked his disciples several times to
watch and pray but they were very weak, Jesus, at a point, told them to sleep on, that the
hour of temptation was already at hand (Mark 14:37-41). Before any physical incidence
whether good or bad, there must be a spiritual sign that will start up, grow and get to
fullness which will burst out in the physical realm. Wise believers will stop the evil in the
vacuum. Whether it comes as a thought or dream, quench it. By this you can quench
death, war, sickness, sorrow and any evil. Also, you can fast forward your blessing; only
have faith in God. So, every physical incidence is first cooked up/conceived in the spirit
realm and is triggered into the physical when the spiritual cup is full.
In the physical we have five sense organs, but there’s also the sense of faith -our 6th
sense which is very important. Your 5 senses maybe seeing failure going by physical
circumstances but by your sense of faith you can see success and the success you see will
prevail by prayers.
According to basic science, the 5 sense organs most of which have second functions
are:
Nose – smelling and breathing
42
Tongue – tasting and talking
Eyes – seeing
Skin – feeling and body coating/removal of sweat
Ears – hearing and balancing. There’s a fluid in the inner ear (endolymph) that helps
us balance. If you shake it/make it vibrate, you stagger. E.g. shake your head vigorously
left and right or turn around and you will stagger -this is not so when you shake your
hands/legs. There’s a way you blow your nose when having catarrh and you lose balance
as if your head is spinning. This is because your endolymph just vibrated. Someone was
slapped and the slap made him stagger. Notice that boxers protect both their faces and
their ears because even a slight blow on the ear can make you fall due to lose of balance.
Spiritually speaking too, what one hears can throw him off balance, so be mindful of
what you hear/allow. Filter them. If you hear/see/feel something negative/terrifying like
bad news, you have your mouth for confession. What you confess affects you even more
than what you see/hear/feel and your mouth is internal. Your ears/eyes/feelings can detect
the enemy’s signals but your own mouth draws life from the wells of life within you as a
believer. Your mouth is both an input and output device.
You speak/confess God’s word to that situation. When confronted by Goliath David
never failed to use his mouth. Now you have 2 mouths; the physical and the spiritual. In
the face of any situation where talking aloud may not be convenient/welcome, you can
even scream to the spirits with your spiritual mouth, your eyes not wandering about
(depicting focus). If somebody is being tempted around you, for instance, you can use
your spiritual mouth to bring down the enemy.
Legislating with your spiritual mouth means prayer. Remember, Eph. 3:20 reveals
that God answers what we ask and what we think. So you can see how dangerous it is to
think/imagine/nurse anything negative or in any way not in sync with God's word. If you
do you will be beating down the efficiency of your spiritual mouth. Try praying in your
heart in a scenario that needs spiritual control and watch how things will suddenly turn
around for the better.
When the scripture says one shall chase a thousand and two ten thousand, it is no
exaggeration. It is very true (Deut. 32:30).
In an experiment, a horse was loaded to capacity and it could carry 2 tonnes but
when two horses were yoked together they could carry 18 tonnes. Where is the additional
strength coming from? It is the power of unity. A certain school was so far from a
stadium such that one student couldn’t dare to walk all the way from the school to the
stadium, but on the day of their state sports event, about 50 students decided to walk
down all the way to the stadium and it was even fun. Nobody complained! Had the
distance changed? No; it’s the power of unity. There’s the strength your neighbor will
43
draw out from you by motivation. It’s just like running with one leg compared with
running with the both legs. Even a tired person will jump and flee when they say there’s
danger. The strength comes from the soul. Your soul has a big reservoir of all things.
Look within and draw power and grace.
The mad man that tore the seven sons of Sceva fought with spiritual strength.
Fighting is spiritual. A person fighting with spiritual strength will not stop even if he’s
bleeding. This will scare his opponent thus planting fear in him and giving victory to the
man fighting with a spirit. But this is not a good spirit. Any way we are not fighting
against flesh and blood (II Cor. 10:4-5).
I like this illustration given by a Bible scholar: Try running with only one leg and
record the speed as 2m/s. Run with your second leg only and still record the speed as
2m/s. Now run with both legs, you see you can almost fly. It's not 4m/s not 8m/s you see
the power of unity playing out. Now more than unity with people is unity with spirits e.g.
a hawker with the sales spirit in a day of blissful sales can walk round a city hawking
with excitement. If you understand that the spirit of God is in you, there’s no limit to
what you can achieve.
I observed 2 young men; one was free from defilement, was very humble and
committed but he didn’t look packaged. He doesn’t dress that well (smartly), laughs
uncontrollably, can work for somebody without pay and therefore looked stupid in the
eyes of some. But because of his spiritual purity, he was wise in the eyes of spirits.
Remember that the spiritual governs the physical.
The second young man had many girl friends. In the physical appearance he looked
very organized, smart, dresseed very well, was packaged, and fought for his physical
rights. However, in the long run, the ‘duller’ young man achieved success in life while
the other was still struggling. What happened? There’s a great percentage that good
luck/good fortune has to play for one’s effort to yield success in life. If the spirits/ nature
be against a person; perhaps the person lives in iniquity, sheds blood and all sorts of evil;
frustration will take over such a life. But may God deliver even the lawfully captive; in
the name of Jesus! Amen!
Notice that those spirits of favour don’t mind that you don’t dress well, or you are
not packaged or that you work without pay, these are physical things. Just be pure and
carry God. Now who is wiser in the end? It’s the godly young man. Now if a ‘packaged’
person also becomes godly, I mean he steers clear from iniquity, his success will know no
bounds.
In a certain city I noticed that many young men living in defilement were suffering
from stagnation. It was a demonic spell. The person would be earning money but nothing
to make out of it. The unclean spirit of lust saps the money through various means.
44
Remember, righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach. If one can just steer clear
from unrighteousness he will succeed.
You are lifted! What you’ll be is in God’s mighty hand; not even your earthly father
can determine it. That’s why there’s no blood in the brain. Among all the parts of the
body your brain (your mind/destiny room) is free even from your biological father’s
blood. You are unique and great!
Jesus opened the door for limitless forgiveness for mankind. Before Jesus came, one
sin was enough for one to be condemned. For instance, the devil sinned once and that was
the end. Some angels sinned with him and were cut off from God immediately; No
salvation.
In Gen. 6:1-11, the Bible records that the sons of God (some angels came to be
defiled with women and were rejected).
Today, if an angel in heaven should sin he will be rejected eternally, but we sin daily
yet receive umpteen forgiveness. What a great work Jesus has done! But we shouldn’t
abuse the grace. Sin carries several penalties that bring setbacks. When Jesus was asked
to fall down (in his temptation hour) he did not fall down (Matt. 4:6-7). It would mean an
abuse of grace. That God would bear him up did not make him fall. That God forgives
should never make us sin. Sin is deadly. Remember, Jesus Christ is our perfect example
whose footsteps we should follow daily.
29. THOUGHTS
The thoughts that occupy your mind before you go to bed are the thoughts you often
wake up with. In the morning, check this out. This is why it’s very important you pray
deeply (involve your spirit/soul/body) before you sleep, so as to wake up with God.
Social media/internet surf shouldn’t be our sleeping pill.
If you take social media, as your lullaby before sleep, you also wake up with it in
your mind. Use prayer/ worship as your lullaby
In a church, if you check people’s jotters in a given sermon you see different things;
even things that the preacher did not say, what happens? The Holy Spirit (the great
interpreter) interprets the preacher’s teachings uniquely in accordance with each listener’s
level of understanding and relative to their personal experiences. Wow!
Mind Your Thoughts
Your thoughts send signals that influence your aura and reflect on your face/gesture.
Your thoughts influence your fate and determine what you attract.
If someone walks into an office to seduce and so is in skimpy attire, the target man
will feel the spirit of lust because that’s what the lady’s heart has cooked up. However, if
45
one watches wrestlers/athletes in their almost naked wears he doesn’t feel the spirit of
lust because the wrestlers’/athletes' minds are off it. They are rather thinking on how they
will win their opponents using a suitable smack down/ outrun their counterparts, and
guess what? This target will overtake you the spectator such that you won’t sense any
lustful signal. However, a person who is demon possessed can
unconsciously/unintentionally send evil signals by the unclean forces at work in him. We
are to guide our thoughts as believers. When a negative thought comes, we're to resist it
promptly and firmly by God's word and redirect our thoughts. Phil.4:8 admonishes us to
think on pure, godly and positive things of virtue. A thought will breeze in because some
other person or spirit is sending such a signal (good/bad). Also a thought can breeze in if
the environment is influenced e.g. in a genuine prayer house, godly thoughts fill your
heart. Thirdly, spirits around can trigger thoughts/ideas/suggestions in us but be sure to
resist every evil thought (demonic arrows) by God’s word.
We are created with great intellectual prowess. A human brain is higher than that of a
computer. For instance, a computer memory can be full but your brain can never be full.
We learn new things every day yet the brain is not full. Even if you were to live for a
millennium, your brain will still not be full. God created us with millions of cells. One
great scientist made so many discoveries that at his death his brain was examined to
know what special feature it may have had. Amazingly, it was a normal human brain; he
had not even used up to 14% of his brain despite all the discoveries. At his death, there
were still unpublished materials he had written which other scientists started to work on.
You may be surprised that a professor has not used up to 12% of his brain. So you can
imagine what our brain can do. God is wonderful. Now, more than knowledge,
imagination can create new things and explore new grounds. In Gen. 11:6 God revealed
that our imaginations can do the impossible. Never imagine anything you wouldn’t want
to happen, even in the face of the tendencies/ negative evidences. Resist such thoughts
immediately whenever the enemy sends them. Imagine God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit,
angels, God’s mightiness/miracles; good things and you will attract them into reality.
Your guardian angel teaches you many things. He teaches you when you observe
anything with a quiet spirit. His learning is like learning by observation. As you look at
someone teaching, he makes you notice the skills the teacher exhibits. As you observe
someone singing, he explains and teaches you. Somebody was observing a performer and
suddenly begins to nod his head saying OK, OK and OK… What’s happening? Has he
become two? Who is he speaking with and answering OK. His guardian angel was giving
him First hand explanations and he was learning. Some people learnt how to play drums
by observation. Some people learnt how to plait hair by observation. Now your guardian
angel is a spirit. He can teach you a different version/pattern other than that which is
46
common. This is why some people who learnt by observation (taught themselves they
would say) use methods that may not be conventional but will surely produce amazing
results. I’ve seen a left-handed man playing a right-man’s guitar.
People have different spirits and one person can also carry multiple spirits. For
instance, a person who has the Holy Spirit will carry the spirit of boldness, the spirit of
love, sound mind, wisdom, knowledge, understanding, might, counsel etc.
When God speaks to you it can be through a number of channels/spirits. God can
speak to you through your guardian angel, a visiting angel can also speak to you. The
devil also speaks (of course he speaks to mislead). One can be prompted by a spirit of
greed, spirit of anger, revenge etc to go into eerror.
We should yield our personal principles to the Master's use. E.g. Peter would have
missed out on Cornelius' encounter because of his “No unclean meat principles” but the
mercy of God still played out to help him not miss the blessing, because his intention on
the ‘No unclean meat principle’ was to honour God.” Now your principle should be
anything the Holy Spirit tells you at any instant in time. This must of course tally with the
Scriptures and when you are not sure of the speaking source, follow the scriptures/ your
sense of what is right/ wrong.
When a lady insults/abuses a man, she has in the physical realm abused just one man
but in the spiritual, she has abused the spirit of men -the men folk represented by that one
man. When that abused man feels embarrassed and is like 'whoever marries this lady will
regret,' he has spiritually announced to the other men folk that this is a ‘no go area.’ This
can delay that sister’s marriage. Forces can capitalize on this and rain disappointments on
the lady until she receives mercy. This explains why a woman will maltreat a little child
and be barren. When she maltreats the little child, she will think she is just dealing with
one little child but inside the little child and spiritually speaking, the children folk is fully
represented. Now if the child weeps and is like this woman is wicked to children, other
children in the folk spiritually will hear it and run away e.g. when that lady visits a baby’s
home and wants to carry a baby even with smiles, the baby will start crying and refuse
her. Don’t abuse anyone -a father, a mother, an aged person, a child, a sister -the
consequences can be fatal; you will be biting more than you can chew because you will
be making a bad impression to the father’s folk, children’s spirits etc. the knowledge can
deliver somebody who is in bondage. Just confess to God, repent of the offence and do
the opposite, show kindness to a child, man, a lady, an aged person etc. in case you are
guilty of this, I stand in the office of a Priest and declare mercy on your behalf. Be free in
Jesus name, Amen!
Somebody shows you kindness and you repay him with evil or stab him at his back.
In the physical you’ve hurt one person but in the spiritual you have hurt your destiny
47
helpers’ forum represented by that one helper. But thanks to God who has made us free.
God warned the Israelites not to maltreat strangers Lev. 19:33-34 and the scripture
enjoins us to be good to all men. These are some of the reasons.
When someone comes to you for anything, the first thing is to read the spirit in the
person. If it’s a good spirit – the spirits of Jesus; you see humility/sincerity/joy follow the
person, answer the person, listen to the person (But still know that people can change; a
wrong spirit can breeze in, but concur as long as Jesus is manifested). On the contrary,
once you sense a wrong spirit, my dear be very careful even when the person’s offer
looks good.
In a certain market a young evangelist was speaking with a lady trying to invite her
to a crusade. I could see the humility/sincerity/joy in that evangelist’s mood and spirit but
the woman who looked worried/unhappy perhaps for the bad sales of the day did not flow
with the man’s spirit when the man asked for her phone number because he needed to fill
in people’s phone numbers so they could be sent text messages about the mega crusade.
The lady rejected the invitation but somebody else by her side was spiritually sensitive
and gave his number and in that crusade the person got a miracle. Bad moods are very
dangerous. In a bad mood one can miss a miracle. When an angel visits you, your heart
connection is needed for you to accept the miracle the angel comes with E.g. Mary
responded, “Be it done to me according to thy word” (Luke 1:37).
People indeed carry spirits, it doesn’t matter whether a person is asking you for help
or the person has come to do you a favour. The spirit behind should direct your yes/no.
Once you are convinced on the kind of spirit the person came with, going by his/her
moods/gestures (the spirits in you bearing witness) you flow with the person or disagree
with the person. Also keep the person on check should he deviate. Remember, Peter who
said Jesus was the Christ later turned to say Jesus should not lay down His life to save us
(Matt. 16:16-23). Jesus our Lord was, of course, highly sensitive to the spirit that had
entered Peter and Jesus addressed the spirit directly -‘Get behind me satan’ Jesus was not
sentimental.
You are an employer and someone comes for employment in your establishment; the
spirit behind the person can prompt your yes/no. If your spirit accepts the person you will
not regret it. Pay more attention to the spiritual (the control switch of the physical lies in
the spiritual) it’s after confirming the spiritual you then check on the physical qualities.
Even in choosing a marriage partner this principle can help. A person invited by evil
people to be killed/robbed/abused must be informed by his/her guardian angel. Your
spirit will just disagree with that invitation/offer. Always follow God’s leading and you
will live in victory.
Someone invites you for an outing with many promises and gifts but it clashes with a
programme in your church, you tell the person, ‘Oh no; that’s the time for our Bible
study,’ but he says it doesn’t matter; next week you can go. My dear, look before you
leap. Isaac perceived deception when Jacob, in pretence wore an animal skin to look like
48
Esau. Isaac went by physical looks – his feeling of the hairs on Jacob’s body, and the
trick worked against him (Gen. 27:20-23).
In the same vein, when a spirit/voice speaks in your heart the first thing to find out is
“who is speaking?” Once you sense it’s a spirit from God’s side flow along (obey). It
doesn’t matter what he says, sometimes we obey before we understand the reasons. But if
you sense that it is Satan or one of his spirits, my dear begin to bind and reject the spirit
even when he says something that sounds good. Eve shouldn’t have accepted what the
devil said since it was from the devil – the enemy came with subtlety Gen. 3:1-24. He
told them they would be like God whereas they were already like God. Psalm 49:20 says
anybody in honour who does not understand it is like the beast that perishes. It is one
thing to be in honour and another thing to understand it and guard it else you lose it.
Many believers don’t seem to understand the liberty, dominion, immunity, excellent
life/calling, wealth, eternal life and riches they are entitled to. 1 Cor. 3:21 says, “…all
things are yours.” They end up admiring the unbelievers not knowing that the unbelieving
folks are secretly jealous of the believers.
When a believer is disconnected from God negativities will begin to speak. Now if
the disconnected believer knocks at door A for a favour, the door A might be locked at
that moment because of an opposing spiritual force. What usually happens is that the
believer will remember another physical door, button, someone to meet or something else
to try out for solution but because a resisting spirit is around (standing in his way) the
other options will still fail. What the believer needs here is to understand that the
negativity is spiritual. Rather than trying another option which the unclean spirit will still
frustrate, the believer should get reconciled with Our Merciful Father and any other
option he tries later will work smoothly. If you fall get up; look around and figure out
what made you fall, learn from it before you take off again. This knowledge will equip
you to beware and avoid obstacles of such similitude subsequently.
While living in a certain school apartment, I came home one day but alas our water
was finished. It was around 9pm and I couldn’t imagine running out of water by that
time, I quickly brought out our generator but then there was no fuel left in it. I then
remembered to check our second school site (which was also close by) to get water but I
remembered this principle that an unclean spirit (speaking in spiritual terms) had made
the water run out, made the generator tank empty and was ready to still ensure I would be
disappointed should I have tried checking on our other site that night for water. What I
did was to go back to God for reconciliation. While still praying in the compound I
beheld our fuel keg which was usually empty during night hours. Amazingly as I checked
it had fuel and I pumped water.
49
This principle applies in our everyday life. When one records a loss, hinderance or
misfortune, going back to God first and thereafter coming back to try another option will
guarantee success. Ai had defeated Israel but thank God for Joshua who drew the
Israelites back to the drawing board for repentance and reconciliation and then they
prevailed. Had the Israelites gone back with a new strategy to fight Ai while not still
reconciled with God, they would have failed even more woefully.
When you are hindered in your path to success, it’s either God stopping you or Satan
stopping you. If it’s God then forsake that venture and find out the line God wants you to
follow, but if you find out it’s Satan, prayerfully push further because that venture has a
glorious end -that’s why the devil is fighting it. God is consulted on the altars of prayers.
When you are afflicted /cheated on or troubled, cry out to God who is the judge of
all. Demand for justice; it’s your covenant right in Christ. For instance, why should you
50
pay your tithe and devourers still dare to tamper with your resources and you keep quiet?
Why should sickness be tormenting you when we have been healed by Jesus’ stripes? 1
Pet 2:24.
Evil people use sacrifices to send spirits on negative errands against the innocent;
contrary to justice. But by crying out for justice through prayer and by declaring your
innocence, nature takes caution and acts right.
In the Igbo parlance it’s called ‘iju ogu’ -pleading for justice by declaring your
innocence can reverse undeserved penalties and plagues and the wicked is penalized.
Don’t tolerate nonsense. Speak and declare your innocence/ rights by the blood of Jesus
Christ. You have not taken anybody's money but they took yours, speak to nature.
Of course, in the realm of the spirit everything can hear, speak, act etc. Jesus could
speak to the storm and it obeyed and become still.
Abel’s blood could cry to God in Gen. 4:1. Thus you can speak to the situations and
elements around you. God commanded Moses to speak to the rock. Occultists/ native
doctors even apply this principle. It is a spiritual principle belonging to believers. Voice
out; pass a decree in Jesus’ name and roll back the works of darkness.
The pictures/scenes in your mind are prophetic and highly spiritual. We all have a
mind picture of where we should be/ the level we should have attained in the ladder of
life by now. If you are unhappy/ worried in life, check it’s because you are below the
height you believed to have attained in your mind’s picture. Perhaps by now in your
mind’s picture you should have become this/that, honourable, your family should have
become so and so… those mind pictures are true, pursue after them. It is true of your
family.
If someone tells you a story, you will definitely picture a scene, if you train your
mind, guarding it against negative thoughts, those pictures will be very accurate.
If, for instance, you enter a room where someone has hidden bananas, if you want to
mention the kinds of fruit the first fruit that will occur to your mind will be banana.
I was in a class and a Cultural and Creative Arts (CCA) teacher came and taught the
class music skills and led the students to sing. After that class, a mathematics teacher
came in and at a point started using music skills to illustrate her mathematical points. I
knew it was because music was in the atmosphere. This is a prophetic key. If you walk
into a defiled room you will feel it. Also if you walk into a house of prayer, the heat of
prayers will invade and dominate your thoughts and you will feel the presence of God.
Now the thoughts we nurse in our minds can be read by our moods, face, speaking tone
and the energy vibes we emit. If they be positive thoughts you will carry a godly aura and
demeanor and good luck as you walk about and meet with people. They will notice good
energy flowing from you and they will be happy staying around you.
51
36. TRANSFER OF POVERTY MENTALITY/ WEALTH MENTALITY
A poor parent leading the children to get a rich neighbour’s damaged seats for use in
their own house is indirectly teaching the children to value people’s left overs and wastes.
Tomorrow they can serve for a peanut.
Going to market to buy second handed clothes/wares indirectly makes them
believe/accept low standards as a normal life and not push forward for high classes.
Rather than buying 10 inferior shoes, buy 2 shoes of high quality.
Taking the children to an occasion and staying with them for several hours just to
collect free food teaches the children/programs their minds and mentality to value food
and hold it in high esteem. Tomorrow they can serve for meals. The hours wasted also
makes them to devalue time. Instead of them to forget the plate of food and go hustling
through those hours, they learn to sit down and wait for others to toil and thereafter give
them mere food for supporting their business. The rich starts up establishment while the
poor throws himself around to serve and get peanuts (hand –to-mouth income). Never
take the children to occasion on empty stomach.
By salvation, one’s mentality is regenerated as he goes through the school of the Holy
Spirit and is exposed to Christ’s exceeding riches. The believer now has a new father –
God Almighty (The God of exceeding riches).
The rich will take his children to an occasion in the nick of time, go straight to the
point and make donations/take pictures with the celebrants if necessary and hurry back
home to eat. Now the rich man’s children learn that their time is precious and they should
value and manage time optimally, they also learn to be the givers. They learn that free
food is dishonorable. By this mentality, working for food (hand-to-mouth) will not be
tolerated by these children.
You discover that most times when God wants to make a poor man’s son great, he
removes him from his parents. Another hand (wealthy/disciplined) will train that child so
that the poverty/slavery mentality will not be transferred to that child. God did this to
Moses who was brought up in Pharaoh’s palace as opposed to most Israelites who at a
point wanted to go back to Egypt (slavery) because of cucumber, fish, onion and garlic
(Num. 11:5)
A poor man can raise a wealthy child if he can be mindful of these principles and not
involve this child in some things. There are some poor parents that train their children
very well; teach them to make savings, buy them all their school books, buy them bicycle
to feel blessed and have a superiority complex like their mates and drill them such that
they won’t even know their parents are poor until they come of age; and such children
will survive to alleviate the poverty in their home like Moses who grew up with a
conqueror’s mentality and strove to pull his people out of slavery. One can always
unlearn wrong philosophies.
52
Parents should read books on parenting just like we encourage married couples to
read books on relationships and marriage.
When a rich child (a child nurtured with the principles of wealth) grows and sees
himself feeding from hand to mouth, he will be very uncomfortable and quickly
strategize to come up like the prodigal son who drew a contrast between what he used to
be and the pitiable situation he had found himself. But a poor child (nurtured with
poverty mentality) can grow and see himself feeding from hand-to-mouth and will not be
that disturbed. He will tend to see things as normal and only make wishes to be wealthy
but the rich will strive.
Let’s take for instance a child that was the best in his former school comes to a new
school and comes 5th. He strives and in the next term he comes 1st. Now many children
had been in that school taking the 10th, 11th and other positions without striving to push
up. They relax and are comfortable. It is about their mentality. Whereas this new student
believes he’s meant to take the lead, some others are comfortable where they are.
The difference between the rich and the poor, the “A students” and the average
students, the winners and the losers is how they think. Yes everybody wishes to be rich,
be the best, prevail and all of those; of course if wishes were horses beggars would ride.
However, it’s not just about wishes but about striving relentlessly, overturning every
stone, denying yourself pleasure, converting situations to opportunities until you hit the
jackpot.
The good news is that Jesus delivers from poverty, failure and every ill mentality. If
one follows God, he refuses to be a receiver but learns to be a giver and this will make
him dream bigger to meet needs. God has his ways of transforming our minds.
Jesus defeated Satan and announced that all powers (100%) have been given unto
Him (Matt. 28:18). Now we human beings made in God’s image have some powers. The
devil uses human powers -the powers given to man. Just like he tricked Adam and
collected his domineering power over the earth plain.
The kingdoms of darkness harness the powers/anointing of people. The devil is using
our very own powers to fight us. Without the human blood/ energy they collect, their
power banks will run dry. The devil uses Mr. A against Mr. B. He deceives Mr. A to fight
Mr. B. it’s not the devil fighting directly. He is using Mr. A’s power against Mr. B and he
sits by the side watching and gingering the fight. He uses our power of choice/moods
against ourselves. He influences people into wrong choices (like Adam eating the
forbidden fruit). This will provoke God’s wrath just like Balaam advised Balak to seduce
the Israelites with their women and get them under God’s wrath. (Rev. 2:14)
53
We have the moods of joy, mercy, humility, appreciation and faith in God but the
devil will trick people into worry, fear, lust, bitterness and other moods by presenting
negative circumstances to them. Now when one gets into these bad moods there are
negative consequences, bad news and sorrows triggered by the aura of these bad moods.
The person begins to suffer from various arrows and attacks because he is using his
powers wrongly against himself. When we hear that somebody is dead, did we see the
devil physically killing the person? Didn’t he influence Mr. A to kill Mr. B or Mr. B to
commit suicide. He uses men’s power against fellow men. It is the power/ info we give
the enemy that he uses against us.
We have the power to think positively. Don’t think evil. Be mindful of your moods,
confessions and choices and see how the enemy will be powerless over you.
1. Satan comes with lies/deceit e.g. he deceived Eve in the garden –> but God has given
us the belt of truth Eph. 6:10-18; also Jesus is the truth John 14:6.
2. The enemy comes with mere “facts” e.g. Jericho was shut against Israel, the red sea
was before them, there were giants in Canaan etc. The Israelites on hearing of the
giants became weak, but thank God for Joshua and Caleb who used the shield of faith.
By faith, you look beyond the facts into God’s unending possibilities. E.g. it can be a
fact that in a family nobody crosses a certain level of life, or there is one problem or
the other but by faith YOU ARE MADE WHOLE.
3. The enemy tries to make one run into opposition with God through sin so that God’s
wrath will descend on that one but we have the breast plate of righteousness.
When the devil tries and fails, knowing that your backbone is God, he tries to disconnect
you from God. Resist him!
Most spirits act as robots and are programmed to discharge just their duties, nothing
more and nothing less. When the angel of death moved through the land of Egypt to slay
the first sons, he spared the Israelites’ houses when he saw the blood of the lamb on the
door posts and lintel. If an Israelite had disobeyed and refused to use blood but just writes
‘ISRAELITE’ on his door post he would have been slain.
When an angel comes to give a gift to a choir member who always ministers on the
choir seat but angrily refused to show up on the appointed day, the angel may not notice
him though perhaps the chorister may be seated at the back.
An accident programmed for somebody who always travels by bus can practically be
escaped if the person should travel by a car instead of a bus.
54
An attack spiritually programmed on a man who travels on Saturdays can be escaped
when the person travels say on Friday (a day before the Saturday).
When we go for vigil in God’s house we practically escape some evil labels that
should have prevailed in our usual dwelling houses. Spirits often act as robots and by
divine permutations and combinations God practically directs the paths of a believer out
of evil and to enjoy the best. Follow God’s leading.
Many have insulted, abused, quarreled with and afflicted their destiny helpers. The
truth is bitter and our destiny helpers tell us the bitter truth. They give corrections even
when it appears very harsh.
If, for instance, one is a taxi driver and a passenger comes in and talks to him very
roughly and harshly. If that taxi driver can ignore the embarrassment and keep calm, that
same passenger may give him his complimentary card and invite him to come for
employment. Elisha treated Naaman this way and Naaman almost could not tolerate the
embarrassment of being asked to go and wash in a pool that was not nice (2Kings 5). The
prophet (His destiny helper) did not even come out to meet him but just sent a servant to
meet him. But thank God for Naaman’s servants that convinced him to obey even when it
was not pleasant and he was healed. A prospective husband can hurt a lady and how the
lady reacts can create an affection that can lead to a marriage proposal later.
A wise philosopher said that opportunity has been missed by many because the
opportunity dressed like work. Opportunity can be overlaid with work such that in doing
that work/taking that stress/tilling the ground you suddenly uncover a hidden treasure.
Also, destiny helpers may come as harsh people that will despise, mock and call one
nothing at the first time. Check out patient servants of harsh masters; how they finally
become wealthy by their master. E.g. Jacob finally became wealthy from Laban’s flock
(Gen. 31:1).
Jephthah’s brethren (in Judges) cast out their destiny helper Jephthah because he was
born of a harlot. They rejected him and left him empty-handed but thank God for second
chance. You should look beyond the physical (packaging) and see the content, that’s how
to perceive your destiny helper.
Check out the first act of Moses as Israel’s destiny helper. Moses had early on killed
an Egyptian who troubled an Israelite and now Moses was trying to settle a quarrel that
came up between two Israelites (Exo. 2:11-15). The Israelites couldn’t look deeper to see
Moses’ motive/assignment. They judged him by his first act and accused him such that he
had to flee. You know what? They continued in slavery for a longer time; in fact past the
400years they should have stayed until Moses came back. Some have accused and cast
out their destiny helpers. Some people only work with those that sing their praises and
55
show warm relationships (even in pretence), but they refuse and keep at a distance the
harsh ones that will tell them the bitter truth of how wretched and pitiable they are.
Some parents have testified on how their “stubborn” children became great. How?
These children are called stubborn because they refuse to conform to unnecessary rules
and regulation. They have their personal plans and won’t accept anything that will
counter their laid down targets. Some obedient ones are called obedient because they
obey every rule hook line and sinker; without questions. This is not always the best
because such children may eventually allow unnecessary rules to also break down their
personal plans/goals.
We must be led by the Holy Spirit; physical sight is not always true. It’s not all the
eyes see that are real, even in science a rod in water appears shorter and water rushing
from a tap looks white all because of refraction. Our eyes can see things that are not real.
Paul was persecuting the church (but his motive was to defend the Pharisee’s doctrine
which Jesus had come to correct. Now the church did not slay Paul. Acts 9:10-20 tells us
how Ananias helped to pray for Paul (former Saul became a great destiny helper to the
church)
The Samaritan woman received a ‘not-so-palatable’ first treatment from Jesus who
had come with an unusual demand for her to draw water for him; finally Jesus blessed her
life.
In 1 Kings 17:10-16 Elijah a destiny helper to the widow of Zarephath started by
making a difficult demand on the last pot of food available.
In Matt. 15:22-28 Jesus a destiny helper to the woman from Canaan started by saying
that the children’s food should not be thrown to dogs (an 'embarrassing' statement). This
woman understood Jesus as her destiny helper and accepted the embarrassment. She
replied with humility and got her miracle. When we dig out gold at first it looks
unattractive, but finally something very sparkling and precious will emerge after
refinement.
A destiny helper may come to you flaunting his power/greatness. Don’t just label him
as a proud man; instead celebrate him/her seeing yourself as nothing and that his
power/greatness will bless you.
Joseph’s dream to his brethren looked like he was boasting or trying to intimidate
them, but he later became their savior.
Elijah stopping rain in Israel looked like a show of power but he later helped Israel in
several ways (1Kings 17:1). Just learn to look beyond what meets the eye.
Always show love. David showed love to a dying opponent soldier and got victory
1Sam 30. This weak soldier would have been the destiny helper of David’s enemies but
they couldn’t cater for this weak soldier. Now David took care of him even as an
opponent and this abandoned soldier became David’s destiny helper, and revealed the
enemies’ secrets that helped David conquer and recover all that he had lost. Our guardian
angel is our mega destiny helper. Your destiny is like a written scroll that will play out.
56
You may not know the details but God has given each person a destiny helping guardian
angel – follow his inner leading voice and you will succeed. He is not sentimental or soft
in relating with you. Your guardian angel is simply bent on leading you to do the right
thing. He wouldn’t consider whether you are tired or not. He must wake you up to pray.
Follow him and watch your dreams come true.
Life is full of risks and the various steps one must take to greatness in life are often
challenging. Good news! One sure way to boldly confront a challenging situation is the
right use of the power of focus.
In physics, the power of a magnifying lens is focus. This means that if you focus on
something its glory and power increases and the other things contrary to it decrease.
Guess what! Even the devil knows the efficacy of this principle and uses it. In Gen. 3, the
devil made Eve to focus on the forbidden fruit. This made Eve to admire the fruit and
eventually she ate it. Today the devil makes the “pleasure” of smoking, lust and sin come
alive in people’s mind and as they focus on it they yield to that sin.
Any sin that goes by focus is deadly. Such a sin uses up the energy for spiritual gifts.
The implication is that the energy the victim should have used to see visions and
revelations and even prophesy is converted into the immoral and ungodly.
Biology reveals that the human eye has a blind spot. If you focus on object ‘A’ for a
very long time, object B placed around object A will fall on your blind spot and become
invisible. This means that as focus magnifies object ‘A’ it diminished object ‘B.’
For instance, when the Israelites focused on the fact that there were giants in the
Promised Land, they saw themselves as grasshoppers (Num. 13:33). When Jesus focused
on the cup he was to drink, the pains became magnified and excruciating such that he felt
tempted to say the cup should pass over. Nevertheless, Jesus being the Master of all
principles quickly changed his focus. The scripture says, “…who for the joy that was set
before him endured the cross, despising the shame and today is seated at the right hand of
the throne of God” (Heb.12:2).
So the power to endure the pain/shame of the cross came as Jesus focused on the joy
of victory. Check anybody that committed suicide, the devil must have lured such a
person into deep focus on negativities, frustrations and evil situations. With such focus
the hope and joy and blessings of living will look insignificant.
Jonah was such a powerful evangelist that could convert an entire city of Nineveh
having over 120,000 people, yet instead of Jonah appreciating God for such a great
anointing he desired to die. Why? He was focusing on one little thing- “why did God
forgive the people of Nineveh.” Now see how God corrected him: God shifted his focus
by miraculously making a plant grow to provide him shade and thereafter the same plant
58
died and Jonah was sad for the death of the plant. God then told him that if he Jonah
should cherish the life of a mere plant that he did not even create, why shouldn’t He
(God) cherish the lives of the people of Nineveh whom He created. So God worked on
Jonah’s focus.
In Phil.4:8 the Scripture enjoins us to always think on whatsoever things that are pure,
just, honest, having love and virtue etc.
When you worship God focusing on His mightiness, powers and glory, watch how the
glory of God will come down unlike when one worships and is focusing on his problems
and environments. The flower called Rose has thorns. Guess what? If you focus on the
thorns you may not go for the rose but if you focus on the rose, you will harvest it
despising the thorns.
Why will God show man mercy? It is because He will focus on the blood of Jesus
shed for you and me, and our sins will count as nothing. If not for Mercy we are gone!
A philosopher said that obstacles are those frightful things we see when we set our
eyes off our goals. We are enjoined to be looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of
our faith. Remember our help will come from the Lord who made heaven and earth.
Whereas the 10spies focused on the giants and gave up, Joshua and Caleb focused on
God and were determined to take over the land. Don’t be terrified by what you hear or
see. Overcome them by the word of God. Somebody said that he can doubt what he hears
but won’t doubt what he sees. However, I want to shock you with this. What you see can
be false. For instance, we have said that water rushing from a tap looks white but that
same water is actually colourless. Due to refraction a swimming pool can look shallow
but is deeper than it appears. In physics, there’s what we call total internal reflection
which causes mirage. While travelling on a straight road there appears to be a pool of
water at a distance. However there’s no water there. Your fears and troubles are but a
mirage if you look through God’s word. Alleluia!
Do you know that your mouth is both an output and input device? You can speak to
yourself -confess God’s word. Confess the healing scriptures to yourself and receive faith
and healing. The first step to healing is to believe that the sickness will not kill you.
Why? The Bible says you will not die but live and declare the works of the LORD (Ps.
118:17).
When Peter focused on Jesus he could walk on the waters but the moment he shifted
his focus to the mightiness of the waves he began to sink (Matt. 14: 28-30).
Whereas the Israelites focused on the giant stature of Goliath and fled David focused
on how God helped him kill a lion and a bear and he could boldly confront Goliath at 17
(1Sam. 17).
Gideon who focused on the poverty of his family and their low status suffered from
inferiority complex but God being omniscient still shifted his focus by calling him a
mighty man of valour. That was a ladder on whose rungs Gideon climbed out of the
complex of inferiority and became a mighty warrior. An occultist confessed how their
59
enchantments will not work except they do it with all their mind and focus. When shall
we learn to worship God with deep focus (with all our heart)?
Had Moses focused on negatives such as how long it would take to trek to the promise
land, the presence of giants there, what food the people would be eating all through the
journey, where they would sleep during the nights and during rain etc. Moses wouldn't
have stepped an inch. Moses rather focused on God’s limitless powers and indeed God
performed multiple miracles and brought the people into Canaan as He promised.
The journey of the Israelites from Egypt to Canaan is prophetic. Today some people
are still in:
i. Egypt – unbelievers
ii. The wilderness – those who are just in church (mere servants) Gal. 4:1-7
iii. Canaan – sons/heirs.
Here Canaan does not mean heaven yet; the 3 destinations are all on earth.
Notice that the transition from Egypt to the wilderness required Israel to go across water
(The Red Sea). This experience meanth salvation and water baptism. Also, crossing from
the wilderness to Canaan required Israel to go over water body (River Jordan). This
signified Holy Ghost Baptism and spiritual maturity to be a son in the kingdom (Gal. 4:1-
7) -sons possess their possessions.
Unbelievers are still in “Egypt”. Those days, Egypt practiced deep occultism. Pharaoh
could send his magicians James and Jambres to turn rods into snakes. A woman
(Portiphar’s wife) was ready to cheat on her husband. To be in “Egypt” is to be an
unbeliever. We also have the diseases and troubles of Egypt. Notice that it was famine
that brought Jacob’s home into Egypt. Many are in Egypt because challenges pushed
them to the wall and they decided to live their lives in corruption as a means of survival.
Not being strong in God is risky. Such a wavering Christian will see famine (the troubles
of life) and enter Egypt.
When one is an unstable Christian he will not fully enjoy God’s blessings, thus such a
person will believe that unbelievers are better and then may return to Egypt. Notice that
in the wilderness, the Israelites not yet gotten to the Promised Land always desired to
return to Egypt. But the moment they entered Canaan, nobody thought of ever going back
to Egypt -to slavery.
If we want to serve God, let’s serve him 100% and we will understand that Egypt is
equal to slavery. It’s God that delivers people from Egypt with his mighty and
outstretched arm (by the power of the Holy Spirit). God can convert an armed robber, an
occult grand master and a harlot to the kingdom.
Unbelievers can suffer various diseases, deaths, bereavements and troubles.
60
At salvation (crossing of the Red Sea) one graduates to the wilderness (being in
church). Some are in church but not fully in Christ. Trying to cross the Red Sea Pharaoh
will pursue. In the wilderness the Israelites would always remember the cucumber and
melon of Egypt. If a “believer” still desires his past sinful life or thinks unbelievers are
better, such a person is still in the wilderness. Also, in the wilderness the Israelites once
made a golden calf to worship. If a ‘believer’ still bows to idols, native doctors etc. to get
solution, such a person is still in the wilderness.
Moreover, in the wilderness the Israelites will always be asking for meat/water. If a
believer is always asking God for ‘this and that’ to satisfy his carnal desires/greed, he is
still in the wilderness. He has not graduated to Canaan the place of sonship where you
pray “thy kingdom come and thy will be done on earth,” you see things from God’s
perspective, you can give your property to the furtherance of God’s work because you
understand God’s heart beat, and guess what? The things you give out will multiply and
return to you, unless you are not giving it to God. If it’s God you are giving it to it must
multiply back to you both in physical cash and in other blessings here and here after.
John D. Rockefeller of America (the richest man in his days) would have died at 53 but
when he began to support the church and give to charity he got healed and lived to be 98.
People in the wilderness murmur and complain whenever challenges meet them.
Those challenges will not see you when you enter Canaan. Unfortunately, many died in
the wilderness and never entered Canaan. Wilderness Christians are those that serve God
with human sense and rationality. Please, note that the Canaan we are talking about is not
heaven yet. The 3 destinations are all on Earth. Rapture is for Canaan Christians. Jesus
was not born in the wilderness but in Israel (Canaan).
We don’t serve God with carnal sense. Abraham did not bother about where God was
taking him to. He simply followed God to a place he would show him (Gen. 12:1). Just
like our little children so much trust in us that they follow us wherever we wish to take
them to, and they also accept our decisions and plans hook, line and sinker; even so are
we to trust in God’s love, power and faithfulness daily. Abraham did not bother about
what would become of his generation if he sacrificed Isaac.
The heart/mindset with which to cross Jordan (Holy Spirit Baptism) and enter Canaan
is the mind of “if I perish, I perish.” I rather die serving God than bow down to Satan.”
“Even if obeying God will make me look stupid, so be it”. Jesus says God’s kingdom
is like a precious pearl that a man found and sold all that he had just to get it. The good
news remains that what you give up for the kingdom will return to you a hundred fold
(Mark. 10:29-30).
The 3 Hebrew young men who had proven God to be real and decided to serve him no
matter what would be their fate did not still die. If we can have this determination we
would cross Jordan and enter Canaan. In Canaan, a believer is no longer worldly or
carnal but now a mature son, very spiritual and having signed in for Christ.
61
In Canaan, you begin to possess your God-given possessions, you dominate the Earth
and you walk in the fruit and gifts of the Holy Spirit. Sound health, wealth and a blissful
life will be your portion as you come to unity with the spirit of Christ. You will
understand that unbelievers are living in gross darkness. You will have joy unspeakable.
Picturing your heavenly mansion and riches, you have more joy than the world’s richest
man. You lack nothing. God queues you into divine providence. You don’t need to be a
pastor to enter Canaan.
Canaan is a land flowing with milk and honey. Charms, witches, wizards and
occultists bow to a believer who has gotten to Canaan. In the wilderness a ‘believer’ can
yield to sin to gain a physical promotion, but not a Canaan believer. A Canaan believer
will forfeit the admission (for instance) and still become great without any certificate. In
Gen. 17:1, God called Abraham into perfection. To enter Canaan is to enter perfection in
our walk with Christ Jesus.
In the wilderness, a believer conquers Amalek, Jericho, Ai etc representing
disobedience, lust, anger, worry, doubt, instability etc. how fast one conquers these
determines how fast the person enters Canaan.
44. SPIRITUALITY/OCCULTISM
Some people observed that some spiritual/prophetic practices look mystical (as
though they belong to occultists). From dictionary meaning, the word ‘occultism’ means
the study of the supernatural. The truth is that some of the acts we see as being mystical
actually belong to the church. The witch doctors stole it or copied it and of course
perverted it and mixed it with evil. Remember that Jesus is the head of all principalities
and powers (Col. 2:10, Eph. 3:10).
God’s principles are no respecter of persons. They work for you whether you're a
believer or an unbeliever. An unbeliever that sows seeds and supports God’s work will
prosper. It doesn’t mean he will go to heaven. He will have to obey the principle of
making heaven (believe in Jesus and walk with him) but for sowing, he will reap.
The difference between the believers and occultists is that the occultists do the
principles in perverted ways, but we do them through Jesus and according to the
scriptures.
For instance, the occultists fast and also abstain from women to get power. Now who
are the owners of fasting/abstinence? Believers.
They give alms with evil intent to cage/enslave people, we give alms to show love and
genuinely meet needs.
They sow seed to Satan; we sow seed to God for kingdom projects.
We do communion, but they can’t drink the blood of Jesus, and because they know
the power in that practice they still do it, but in perverted ways. They drink human blood.
We speak in tongues; they make enchantments.
62
We enter the spirit realm by meditating and worshipping God; they do astral travel.
The scripture talks about meditation in several ways. (Ps. 104:34, Ps. 77:12, Ps.
119:15, Gen.24:63, John 1:8, Ps. 63:6, Ps. 119:99).
We won’t be surprised anyway, since the devil was once in heaven, he had learnt
some of God’s principles. Native doctors speak to things (sun, moon, stars, waters, earth
etc). This is a spiritual principle meant for believers. Nature is created to be subject to
believers and serve us to God’s glory. The unbelievers bribe nature with their libation and
sacrifices. We are to take charge and program nature with the blood of Jesus as our
ultimate and ever efficacious sacrifice, that nature should serve God their creator and
reject every program and instruction not in line with God’s word.
God asked Moses to speak to the rock. Jesus rebuked the wind. When we see
magicians today we seem frightened but guess what? They are only copying, Jesus
controls all principles. Jesus could turn water into wine, and Moses with God’s power
could turn a rod into a serpent. The church needs to get to the heights of what Jesus has
made available through grace. The earth and its fullness belong to our God.
Prayer in itself is meditation inclined. The spirit realm belongs to God, not Satan. It’s
time for the church to be in charge.
If the occultists enter the spirit realm, believers should enter more. Funnily enough,
the spirit realm is open for all -even a drunk that enters the spirit realm by ‘highness’ can
also prophecy.
The caution here is that all things must be in line with the scriptures and through
Jesus, for many have yielded to marine spirits and gone contrary to the scriptures.
If an occultist comes to tell you that every human is represented by a star above. It’s
not evil. For instance, the wise men from the East could discern that a special child Jesus
had been born and they traced his star to locate him. So what? Should we now worship
the stars? God forbid! That’s perversion. We must be sensitive to know when perversion
sets in. But rest assured, the earth and its fullness belongs to our God.
Your mood is the state of your mind. Your mind controls your intellect, feelings and
will. The mind is the seat of power. As you dwell on a given mood, you get some
consequences. E.g. A soldier in a fearless and diehard mood will keep fighting even when
badly wounded. You nurse anger; you lose some energy to Satan such that in the next
minute you can’t pray/connect to God’s throne.
Rejoice evermore. Forgive hurts; don’t focus on what Satan is doing but on what God is
doing. Think on the word of God.
Two children engaged in a quarrel. Child A hit child B and began to run. It was as
though the beating meant handing child B a weapon with which to purse and hurt him
(child A). Now child B who had been beaten started pursuing child A. As soon as child B
63
hit child A, he too (child B) began to run away while child A resumed his chase. This
also reveals that in beating a person you hand him a spiritual weapon of revenge. Now if
someone hurts you and you keep calm, Guess what? That enemy will be on the run, he
will be very restless and confused. His spirit must tell him he has handed you a weapon
of revenge and your silence confuses him as he doesn’t know when or how you will
strike. This is one of the powers of silence. Before you know it, the enemy comes to
apologize. Jesus teaches us not to revenge but to repay good to our enemies. There’s
power in the teachings of Jesus.
If you always keep your mood sound, God will fight for you. If someone hurts you,
denies you your right or tampers with what belongs to you, just by your feeling hurt or,
maybe you shed tears, those tears/ pains will create obstacles for whoever has hurt you.
God being a jealous lover also means that He will protect you from all that want to
distract you from worshipping Him whole heartedly.
The human mind is creative. We are therefore expected to imagine positively. If you
think over a problem keeping your mood sound, you must get a solution to that problem.
Our words even derive power from our moods. It’s the mood of a dying man that makes
his words powerful.
A person laying curses on a guilty fellow is usually in a strange heart-bleeding mood
while laying the curses. Such a person may be crying or rolling on the floor while laying
such curses. Even a passerby who sees such a scene will really perceive danger because
he/she will sense the evil spirit prompting the curse. You see people telling the curse
victim, “You better go and plead with him to renounce the curse.”
Do you know what? There’s such a realm available for prayers. When you pray in
the right realm, you receive instant and miraculous answers. There’s a way the Holy
Spirit will come upon a minister in church and when he blesses you under that unction,
you’re convinced that you are blessed indeed. It’s not a casual mood.
Whenever you make a mistake:
Reconcile with God immediately.
Never ponder on such a mistake (except, perhaps on what led to the mistake, for
the purpose of taking correction).
Move on. A just man falleth seven times but riseth again (Pro. 24:16).
Like David, never repeat that sin.
David, for instance, committed adultery and covered it up with murder. But the
moment he was told his guilt, he asked for mercy and never repeated such sins.
The devil’s accusations should not bother you once you’ve reconciled with the
Almighty. If you had committed any sin, it was against God and not against Satan. So it’s
God (The Righteous Judge) that should have condemned you but He chooses to show you
mercy. Alleluia! Simply cheer up and live for Jesus. Isa.43:25 says that God forgives our
sins and remembers them no more. So, the voice that reminds you your past mistake is of
the devil. Resist him and he will flee from you (James 4:7).
64
Furthermore, when one's mood gets to its peak, an action erupts
E.g. Anger produces – quarrel
Lust produces – iniquity
Humility – virtue
Remember, even the mouth speaks out of the abundance of the heart (Matt. 12:34).
Our Moods Communicate
If you do something out of kindness, the person you did it for will perceive kindness
behind your action.
When standing to speak or minister to people, your thoughts will send signals to your
listeners, and likewise theirs to you. For instance, if you are preaching and your intent is
to 'blow grammar,' be sure that your listeners’ attention will soon be directed to your
good communication skills rather than the message. The same applies to a music minister
who instead of singing to worship God sings to show skills. Of course, the listeners will
keep their eyes wide open and feel entertained rather than worshipping God. We are to do
all things with the right motive which is- to please God and be a blessing.
Positive moods yield good results and are used by God for good, while negative
moods yield evil results and are used by the devil to perpetrate evil. E.g. If God blesses
someone with the prophetic gift, notice that such a person will have a burden to pray and
fast and by these good attitudes, the prophetic gift manifests.
Some people are not convinced on how positive attitude and moods will lead to
greatness but it’s very true that when you do the right thing over the years your life
advances significantly. God being a spirit empowers with spiritual things. However, some
people belittle these God-given tips not knowing how powerful they are. Faith is required
to believe and run with God’s keys. Heb.11:6 says, ‘…without faith it’s impossible to
please God.’ A carnal man will quickly ignore God’s tips because he is ignorant. In Prov.
4:2, wisdom was even crying for attention.
When God wanted to make David a king he didn’t necessarily give him money,
instead, he anointed him. Didn’t the anointing take David to the throne? Now, boldness,
discipline and tenacity are good moods and seeds of greatness God plants in us from
childhood. Guess what? These are what the devil will seek after. The devil can gift
someone money to commit sin, but he will collect what money cannot buy.
A student destined to be a medical doctor will have this divine passion and burning
zeal to study intensively and extensively and exceed all cut-off marks and excel. But if
that student should eat the devil’s food (somebody called temptation a delicious poison).
That student’s zeal will drop and his limbic system becomes corrupt. Such a student’s
target is shifted from hard work to pleasure (The student that used to make A’s will then
be comfortable with grade C’s). An invisible exchange has occurred. The most deadly
sins are those that grant pleasure on people’s moods and you know what? Such sins are
demonic and addictive. Smoking, sexual sins, drunkenness and all forms of drug abuse
65
are in this category. Jesus says we should guard our hearts with all diligence for out of it
are the issues of life (Prov. 4:23).
Our moods are highly connected to our bodies. After soldiers receive motivational
charges from their commander, they receive strength to attack the enemy. Some
individuals have learnt this principle. They sit down and ponder deeply on something so
as to get the spirit to swing into action. On the other hand, discouraging words can
weaken the hands of a person.
A child is told he will drink bitter leaf fluid and his face frowned. He had not taken
the bitter leaf yet but his mood overshadowed his body.
One therapy for mood switch is to take a deep breath. You may have heard choir
masters ask choristers to take a deep breath. Why? The choir master may have sensed that
the choristers are in a negative mood e.g. tension, which can disorganize even their vocal
cords. He then asks them to breathe in and out two to three times. Learn to control your
moods/thoughts and watch how your words, actions and inactions will become positive.
While fasting, it’s very necessary to be praying, worshiping God and studying the
scriptures. By this focus, your body will queue up and feel good. Refusing to pray,
worship or study the scriptures, I assure you that your mind will be thinking on
hunger/food and your hunger will intensity, you sense hotness in your stomach this is
how ulcer starts. Fasting must be done with prayer and void of bad moods whatsoever,
for your soul and body become fragile during fasting.
In the Sermon on the Mount (Matt. 5, 6 and 7) Jesus gave some amay teachings. Jesus
says:
- We should love our enemies and do them good (Matt. 5:44)
- We should give and refuse not (Matt. 5:42)
- Give alms secretly (Matt. 6:1)
- Don’t lay treasures on earth but in heaven (Matt.6:19-21)
Some people may take these to be hard teachings. Remember, to one rich man Jesus
said, “Sell what you have and give to the poor and come follow me” (Matt. 19:21).
The early church shared things in common and had joy and collective riches. Poor
nations are poor because their wealth is in few hands; there’s class and competition.
Some fly in the air while others walk on foot. However, very wealthy nations have
common wealth. Good roads for all, free health care for all, good environment and
quality living for all.
For instance, one way to quench envy is by letting your neighbours benefit from
your wealth and good fortune. Unfortunately, some people believe in intimidating their
neighbours rather than helping them or carrying them along. Follow Jesus’ teachings to
assist your neighbours where necessary and you will enjoy peace.
66
If, for instance, you have a high power generator and you give electric power to your
neighbour that doesn't have, my brother nobody will come to say your generator is noisy.
Love will provoke submission and do you know what? The submission will also provoke
more love from you and it will all skyrocket to bliss. In medicine, they say that high
temperature (fever) in a baby causes the death of blood cells, and the death of blood cells
causes high temperature in turn. Thus the two will reinforce each other and burst into
convulsion.
A story was told of a man who filled for divorce but his psychologist gave him some
love tips for the wife for some months before the divorce. Finally, because love will
always provoke submission, the man’s loving-gestures made the wife change. Naturally,
the wife reciprocated the man’s love and he in turn began to love the wife even more and
did not divorce the wife again.
However, if you are kind to people but they intentionally hurt you, relax. God the
judge will surely fight for you. Either they will be directly penalized or as you move
forward they will be moving backwards.
If the devil ‘solves’ a problem, it’s with negative/sinful principles which will end up
compounding the problem.
The devil sees a young man in search of money and, of course, he won’t suggest any
good business. He will advise the fellow to steal or go into fraudulent acts that will ruin
his life and destiny in the long run.
A lady has 'cycle' pains and the devil speaks through someone, suggesting that the
lady should have a boyfriend. This can lead to curses, diseases, demonic manipulations
and death because God’s principles are broken. Beware! God is our healer, only believe!
The devil did not tell Eve what she would lose -how God would reject them, how
they will be cast out of the garden, begin to till the ground for the rest of their lives etc.
He made them focus on the fleeting pleasure of eating the one fruit.
Satan directs one’s mind to focus on negatives and then he will give his suggestions.
If we entertain his thoughts, he collects our energy and fights back.
67
There was a time when beetle (Volkswagen) was on board and men would cruise
around with it, but today nobody will like to chose that model.
Moses walked in the supernatural and the miracles God wrought through him still
inspire us today. The supernatural will never fade but the natural will do. Had Moses
spent his life building estates or buying chariots, his fame would have been overtaken by
time long ago.
Now money is not the problem but the love of it. The love of money is what makes a
person to pursue material things at the expense of is soul.
Most of the teachings of Jesus will be easily practiced when we live as ministers. If
you are known as a preacher, pastor, evangelist etc, your conduct must change because
you will weigh your intents before you carry them out. People out there will not expect
you to commit sin, tell lies, owe, beg or do anything dishonourable.
Some believers greet some selected neighbours and don’t greet others. A preaching
believer who preaches in his neighborhood will not do such. Imagine you just went out to
evangelize and somebody comes to beg for a cup of rice which you have. Of course, you
wouldn’t say no; think about this. There’s a higher lifestyle when we become preachers
of the gospel. A student who preaches in his school has drawn a good spiritual line that
will keep him on check against evil habits. Unfortunately, many wouldn’t want to even
show that they are believers.
A young evangelist boarded a bus, took a seat and afterwards went out to buy snacks.
On getting back, another passenger had taken over his position and he tried to convince
the passenger to change to another seat so he could sit down on his original position. But,
the other passenger refused and said it didn’t matter. To some extent they raised their
voices in the argument and finally the preacher sat down on another seat. However, the
preacher could not minister in that journey. Why? The atmosphere had been polluted. His
argument had cast a spell on him. He regretted arguing for that seat. To live like an
evangelist is to live like Jesus. You will manifest great virtue by humility, tolerance,
selflessness and ministering to people’s needs.
One may wonder why God put joy, peace, rewards and other spiritual things as the
bliss of heaven. Now remember that man is mainly a soul. Our body enjoys rice and
beans, watching movies and other things of the physical, but for the soul it’s a different
ball game.
68
Peace and rest, for instance, is so precious to the soul that a child will rather sleep off
than wait for supper. Also, when you suddenly wake up a sleeping person he feels very
unhappy. The flashy cars, beautiful houses and money we have only make sense because
they give us happiness and comfort (happy triggers of the soul) . If the person who owns
the money is told that he will die in the next 2 days. Those things will no longer excite
him. Why? The joy is no longer there.
There will be ineffable joy in heaven. In the peak of joy, one sheds tears (tears of
joy). If you go deep in worship and get lost in God’s presence, you will have a taste of
heaven’s joy. In this realm, you shed tears, you scream, you roll on the floor before His
Imperial Majesty . It’s just like how insects are attracted to light to the point that they
don’t mind dying there.
Moses in God’s presence for 40days (Ex.34:28) forgot about food. God’s presence
gives unexplainable joy; Joy unspeakable!
If you’re in church and such worship is on, you get excited in your soul. If such
worship is interrupted or the singer changes to another song, you feel unhappy. There is
great joy in heaven!
We need God 24/7. You go to school, you need God to graduate. After graduation
you need God to get a good spouse. You need God to bear and train good children.
Unfortunately, many throw God away but life will teach them to come back to their
Maker. A lady had lived recklessly until she got pregnant and while in the labour room,
there were complications and even the doctor told her that it was spiritual. She asked God
for mercy and vowed to serve God if she survives. God showed her mercy. If we reject
God on Monday, we will need Him on Tuesday.
Some people lived waywardly and in their thirties they suddenly realized their errors.
Life taught them that they had gone the wrong way. Their mates had settled in happy
homes while they were still perching around. My dear, we all need God.
A student who uses abusive words while in school later learnt to speak with respect
and courtesy. How did it happen? He found himself as a business man but was still
speaking harshly and disrespectfully to his customers. His customers withdrew from him
and he spotted out a difference between himself and a successful old time colleague in
the business. This colleague respects his customers and even makes them smile. The
young and amateur business man quickly learnt his lessons and today he speaks with
humility and respect. He runs a big business today. Life had taught him to be humble and
respectful.
A saying goes thus, “Don’t make the classroom your world, rather make the world
your classroom.” Learning should not stop in the classroom. There are many lessons
about life, business, health, relationships etc. If a child disobeys his parents’ instruction to
69
take enough water, when that child grows up and develops a sickness due to dehydration,
nobody will tell him to start drinking enough water. Advice when taken will keep you
from making mistakes. You learn from people’s years of experience; you stand on their
shoulders and go higher. Science applies this principle to grow in innovations. Today’s
scientists will simply study what the previous scientists have laid down, and then they
will stand on them and move higher.
Sometimes, the main problem with sin is in what it plants in a person’s habit. For
instance, a student who doesn’t do his assignment but only wants to copy from others will
tomorrow refuse to carve out his own route for success. He will wait for his successful
friends to gift him money but nobody will do that. If he had been doing his assignments
by himself as the teacher instructed, he would have learnt hard work, confidence,
independence and discipline so that tomorrow he would prefer to learn how to fish than
to be given fish.
A young man who uses his physical power and slaps an older man may tomorrow
come for employment in the older man’s company. By the time his application is
rejected, he learns to hide his physical power and work with wisdom.
Of all the forms of power (a) spiritual power (b) economic power (c) intellectual
power etc.
Physical power/physical beauty is the least. Why? It takes a pyramidal curve when
plotted on a graph. Physical strength/beauty after getting to its peak will start dropping- It
will be coming down to zero. A strong young man today must be weak at old age. A
beautiful lady must fade at old age. However, other forms of power are limitless and can
grow till the person dies. David a warrior finally became weak at old age such that in 2
Sam. 21:15-17, David’s men pleaded with him to relax at home and let the young men go
for war.
Virtue is higher than physical beauty. Abigail (Nabal’s wife) manifested virtue so
much that when Nabal her husband died and David had become the king, David took her
as wife. There were other ladies who had not married before. This type of virtue means a
lady knows how to touch men’s heart (1Sam 25).
A young man who challenges his parents will gain employment and also challenge
his boss. By the time he is fired, he learns to be well mannered next time. Life is a
teacher.
Heb. 13:2 says that many have entertained angels unknowingly. This means that
angels can wear human bodies and disguise themselves exactly looking like human. Peter
in prison was visited by an angel (Acts. 12).
In Judges 13:8-16, Manoah, Samson’s father thought the angel to be a physical man
of God. Judges 13:16 says “… for Manoah knew not that he was an angel of the LORD.”
70
You as a believer should never be afraid, for God has not left you empty. He can
physically send you an angel of rescue.
A great woman of God was once surrounded by kidnappers, but you know what?
Angelic beings came as soldiers immediately and carried away the kidnappers. Some of
the people that come to church are not human. Angels come for church service
sometimes.
A man had a flat tyre and a vulcanizer by the road side fixed his tyres. When he later
came back after few minutes to see the vulcanizer, he saw no one. Asking the people
around, he was told there had not been any vulcanizer there ever.
Angels hide their identity because they don’t tolerate human carnality e.g. doubt,
unbelief, fear etc. During the visitation of Peter, he was put in a trance mood and he
thought it was a dream. Acts 12:11 says, “And when Peter was come to himself he said,
“Now I know of a surety that the Lord has sent his angel and hath delivered me out of the
hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.”
Angels sometimes reveal themselves to believers. Moses in his time could speak with
God face to face. It all depends on the level of the believer. Some believers will flee if an
angel should appear in their locked room.
In Matt. 17:1-9, as Jesus was being transfigured, Peter made a carnal statement that
interrupted the experience. What did he say? He said that three tabernacles should be
made- one for Jesus, one for Moses and one for Elijah. This implied that Moses and
Elijah would share the same glory with Jesus, which is not true. The scripture reveals in
verse 5 of that Matt.17 that while he yet spoke, a bright cloud over shadowed him. You
are entitled to the services/ministration of angels as you mature in your walk with God.
The scripture reveals the principle of sowing and reaping (Gal. 6:7). Success can be
copied up to 90%. If you see any good manifestation, look well you will see a cause.
Something must have been done to ignite the success.
1. Daniel excelled 10 times better – he read books (Dan 9:2).
2. David lost no battle – he would always consult God and he physically subjected
himself to training (Judges 20:16) (Certain Israelites could sling stones at a hair
breadth and not miss. David used this skill against Goliath).
3. Daniel conquered the lion’s den – He prayed 3 times a day (Dan. 6:10).
4. Solomon had absolute peace and fought no battle – He established rapport with
neighbouring kings and married their daughters (princesses). This explains why
he had as much as 700 wives and 300 concubines. (1Kings 11:3), he also had
powerful and intimidating chariots.
5. A believer that never falls sick.
- He fasts and prays often
71
- He is mindful of his diet
- He follows health principles.
The good news is that God’s principles are no respecter of persons. If you sow you
reap. Even a sinner that sows reaps. If you can spot out the principles applied by anyone
and follow it strictly, you can reproduce the same success.
In Ecclesiastes 10:20 we are asked not to curse the king even in our secret places;
else even a bird can broadcast it. Evil people program/give assignment to nature to
torment people. We believers are to control nature even more and cause nature to yield to
God their creator.
Funny enough, some objects possess body parts:
E.g. A car has:
i. Two eyes – the head lamps
ii. Four legs – the tyres
iii. A heart – the engine
iv. Voice – the horn
It takes in water, fuel and oil; it moves and can break down.
- A needle has an eye
- A table has legs
- A book has a body
Now you can issue command to these things just like Jesus rebuked the wind (Mark
4:39-42) and God also instructed Moses to speak to the rock (Num. 20:8).
If you ever see a hurricane, you will perceive a spirit behind it. If you watch the
mighty ocean tides you will sense a spirit behind. A time came when the earth opened
HER mouth and swallowed Korah and his group (Num. 16:32).
You can speak to your body to be strong. You can speak to your situation to work out
favourably. The earth and its fullness belong to our father God (Ps. 24:1). The devil is the
god of this world but not the god of the earth.
The world is a system operational on the earth and headed by Satan. We also have
the kingdom system and lifestyle reigning in the earth and headed by Christ Jesus. We are
to subdue the earth and all in the earth via the authority of Jesus and through the kingdom
principles (God’s word).
There’s a dimension you can get to in your walk with God and even the things in
your room, the elements of nature the earth, the sun, the moon, rain etc. will begin to
serve you as they see God their creator in you.
A drink was poisoned and just about to be served a believer, the cup broke. Why?
The cup refused to be a party to the evil plotted against the believer. A gun was pointed at
a believer and it refused to fire any bullet. Why? Even the gun refused to perpetrate the
72
evil. The furniture in the room where you pray can carry some power to heal even in your
absence. They can also work against an evil man (slide him down, scare him etc).
Many years ago a certain man of God gave me his suit. Guess what? Each time I
wore the suit, I recorded some good fortune. The elements of nature have no soul like us.
They are like robots but surely they are messengers in their own levels and capacity to
serve us the believers all to the glory of God.
The scriptures reveal countless blessings for the righteous. We are privileged to be
beneficiaries of Jesus' gift of righteousness. Jesus having redeemed us only requires us to
remain in him, working out our salvation with fear and trembling (Phil. 2:12).
The righteous is among others likened to
a. The Palm tree (Ps. 92:12)
b. The Olive tree (Ps. 52:8)
c. The Cedars in Lebanon (Ps. 92:12)
According to botanists, the olive tree has the following characteristics:
i. Persists even when cut down by sprouting from another root – you as a child of
God remain indestructible (Job 14:7)
ii. An olive tree becomes more productive and sweet after each year’s cycle. – You
are to be progressive and better by the day (Pro. 4:18).
iii. An olive tree is known for longevity (Isa. 65:20) – long life with sound health is
your covenant right in Christ Jesus.
iv. An olive tree produces several shoots from just one root – A child of God is
multi-talented and has 3600 endowments from God.
v. An olive tree that grows wild is stabilized by being grafted with another
cultivated olive tree. – don’t ignore the people God sends your way to help your
destiny. Be humble, sociable and disciplined.
vi. An olive tree doesn’t look very attractive (judging by physically looks) but
produces the olive oil for the anointing of kings – your inner beauty is what
matters most and out of your belly shall flow rivers of living waters (John 7:38).
[Link] leaves of an olive tree are medicinal (antibacterial and antiseptic) – A
believer is to live healthy and also minister healing.
viii. To harvest an olive tree the tree is beaten – A believer sacrifices to bless lives
and God replenishes him abundantly.
The Palm Tree grows straight upward with an upper bunch. If that upper bunch is cut
off, it's over for that palm tree. Our head is Christ and we must remain in him to be
relevant. Every part of a palm tree is useful. The fruit, kernel, nut, raffia, body and
roots.
73
A child of God is a blessing in every wise, and a gift to the society. We are called to
minister life to people.
On the other hand, the wicked are like grass. (Ps.92:7) A grass is dwarfish in size and
is incomparable with a palm tree, olive tree or cedar. A grass can easily be trampled
upon, but a righteous man being like the palm tree, olive tree and cedar is fully
established. Alleluia!

PREFACE

INTRODUCTORY HIGHLIGHTS
1. There is power in holiness. Holiness is one of the pillars of God’s omnipotence and
that is our edge over the evil people. By consecrating your tongue and never telling
lies or speaking deceit, your tongue carries power and whatever you say will happen.
There are some men in the village who maintain innocence, reject bribes and injustice
and whenever any evil man tries them with charm, they will just declare their
innocence to nature and nature will fight for them. No harm will befall them. Even the
devil knows that there is power in holiness. One “babalawo” was preparing a charm
and he said, ‘This is a high power charm and would be prepared with a virgin.’
Beloved! Why did he say a virgin? Why didn’t he say a harlot? There’s power in
holiness.
2. Jesus Christ granted us power to work special miracles – Moses, Elijah and the
prophets of old walked in power but could not open the eyes of the blind or cast out
any demon (with what name?) Jesus opened the door for this dimension of miracles of
healing the cripple, deaf, dumb, blind and also to cast out demons in His name. –
before Jesus came, one sin was enough to bring eternal doom and condemnation
without any remedy. For instance, the devil sinned once and got condemned, the
fallen angels sinned once. Adam also had sinned once and got condemned at the first
sin. But Jesus’ mercy has granted each person millions and billions of pardon. May
we forever live in reverence to this God.
3. When you shout ‘Jesus’ during a difficulty he comes and there is a spark of power.
You slip off and about to fall you shout ‘Jesus’, you will not finally fall. Something
will either wedge you or your hand will grab something. Jesus actually gave a hand!
4. Jesus is not one of many ways to access God nor is he the best out of several ways to
access God. He is the ONLY way (A.W. Tozer).
7. Maturity
Never be overcome by your feelings. If you can do the right thing even when you are
not in the mood you are mature. You are angry and a little child walks up to you to
remind you that it’s prayer time. If you can quickly switch your mood and do the right
thing of the moment you are mature. Any mood that won’t allow you pray,
disconnects you from your creator and is a dangerous mood.
8. The devil is not omnipotent; if he was he wouldn’t have been cast down from heaven.
The devil is not omniscient for if he knew that Jesus’ death will redeem us, he
wouldn’t have possessed the Jews to crucify Jesus. The scripture says “…had they
known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” (1Cor. 2:8).
The devil is not omnipresent. Where was he when the prophets of Baal were calling
him? But there’s the God who is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent. He’s the
only one we are to bow down and worship.
9. 3 Categories of Babies
Mummy Goodness Joseph revealed that
a. Most babies are born with their hands closed. Inside those hands are the destinies
they came to fulfill. As you grow your hands will be opening. You are becoming
somebody day by day.
b. Some babies are born with their hands loose, tongue loose, legs loose. These are
imbeciles. They lost their destinies in the vacuum before getting here. This
explains why pregnant women have nightmares. Certain forces try to stop the
incoming destiny. Those nightmares are a glimpse of the battles going on in the
spirit.
c. Some babies are born deformed. These babies have a high destiny and when the
enemy could not stop them, the enemy touched them and deformed them. Pastor
Nick, Messi etc. are proofs of what great things a deformed person can achieve.
Messi’s backbone problem was finally treated and he is great today. Blind people
singing can sing really well. You that came whole are a victor! Hold unto God and
fulfill your God-given destiny.
77
The anointing left Reuben and came upon Judah -another son among the twelve.
Judah also lost it by sleeping with a harlot (Gen. 38). In that incidence; Judah
surrendered his bracelet, signet and staff.
Again the anointing left Judah and came upon Joseph. The same temptation of
lust was pursing Joseph about, but Joseph feared God. Joseph was wise. Joseph
refused to make the mistake of his brethren. Finally, Joseph became the great man and
carried others on his shoulders. Indeed, righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a
reproach. Every family has a Joseph. Every family also has a Levite. You can be the
Joseph of your family -a great man/woman that will carry others along. The Levite
will stand on the altars of prayer on behalf of others.
11. Judgment is part of holiness. In Rev. 6:9-10, the voice of martyred saints were crying
to God, reminding Him of his holiness and then demanding judgment; that God
should avenge their blood.
12. A believer is like a prime number. Nothing can kill you except yourself and one
(That one is God). If you don’t give up, you won’t die.
13. In the heights of sin, there will usually be a harvest of the righteous and then the
destruction of sinners:
- When the world became corrupt during Noah’s time, God separated the righteous
ones (Noah and his household) and his wrath destroyed the sinners.
- When Sodom and Gomorrah became corrupt, God separated Lot and his
household, the righteous ones and his wrath destroyed the sinners.
- If corruption persists in this present world, God will also harvest the righteous
(rapture) and his wrath will destroy sinners.
14. One terrible thing about temptation is that the devil gives one an apple and collects
his garden.
15. Though we can see your clothes on you, you are not a cloth. You can drop that cloth
and it will lie on the bed while you walk away. So also you are not a body; your soul
can leave your body during sleep and your body will also lie like a piece of cloth on
the bed. Man is a soul living by God’s spirit in a physical body.
16. Taking a deep breath/taking a glass of water is a therapy that can switch your mood
from anger, lust or anxiety to a calm state of mind. A good choir leader will always
ask the choristers to take a deep breath a number of times to relieve them from
nervousness/tension and also clear their air passage. Taking a deep breath/ a glass of
water can even prevent an imminent asthmatic attack/heart attack.
78
17. - A good person that associates with good people is very good.
- A bad person that associates with bad people is very bad.
- A bad person that associates with good people will likely change.
- A good person that associates with bad people is a suspect.
18. The second coming of Jesus will be in two phases. One is the sudden disappearance of
the saints (rapture). Concerning this, the Bible says that two women will be grinding
at a mill, one will be taken and the other will remain (Matt. 24:41).
After the rapture the world will have about seven years of the great tribulation after
which Jesus will come with the saints, conquer Satan in the Armageddon war and
reign for 1000years with the saints in the new Jerusalem (millennial reign).
19. We grow physically as we eat and exercise. The same applies in the spiritual. We eat
and exercise daily. Even when we fast we still eat that day except for marathon fast.
We walk and stretch daily. While embarking on a long journey by car, you must
desire to come down and stretch in the course of the journey. Our bodies are
structured to eat and exercise daily. Now the food of the soul is the word of God while
the exercise is prayer. A song writer caught the revelation and wrote, “Read your
Bible and pray every day if you want to grow.”
Unfortunately, many don’t read their Bibles or pray every day, thus you can see a
person of 50 years that is still a baby in spiritual matters. Why? He has been starving
his soul.
20. By the way God designed life; there are several ways to be great. No particular
formula. Some become great via academics, some via business and some via
relationship. The key is to be in tune with your maker, find your destiny (where
passion meets with talent) and shine.
21. There are 3 kinds of reaction when people stumble over an obstacle:
- To get discouraged and quit.
- To get up and just continue.
- To get up, take note of what made them fall, learn from their mistake and then
continue
The third is the best, for when you learn from your failure, it’s a popular saying that
you’ve not really failed. In future, you will recognize such obstacles and conquer
them. Speeding up in a wrong direction is a minus.
22. One woman came to a Pastor and said, “One heart told me to do this and another heart
told me to do that and now I’m confused. Sir, what should I do?” The Pastor smiled
and asked her, “How many hearts do you have? One heart told you this and another
heart told you the other one.” The Pastor told her that those were spirit voices either
79
from God or from Satan. If a student forgets to do his assignments and is watching a
movie, while watching the movie a voice will remind him the assignment and then the
student jerks up exclaiming, “It’s true! I have not done my assignment.” That voice
that reminded him the assignment was from God and then the voice that responded,
“It is true!” was the student’s soul. God speaks to you.
23. Of our entire earthly acquisitions only one thing will follow us to eternity. Somebody
may ask if it is money. No, not everybody has enough. Certificates? No, some may
not have even one. But there is something everybody has; both the great and the
small. Rev. 14:13 says, “…and their WORKS shall follow them…” Let’s do good
works. In due season you shall reap if you faint not (Gal. 6:9).
24. The office of a gospel minister is the most honourable. Are you called? Don’t shy
away. A minister is a soldier, also a doctor, also an engineer etc. He touches all
offices. A minister can give counsel to a politician or a business tycoon by God’s
leading. As a doctor, a minister can pray for the sick and they will recover. Whatever
you could not become in the secular world, if you should become God’s vessel you
will walk in that same office.
25. The Bible contains both present, past and future prophecies.
- Books on all walks of life have been written from the Bible. Be it health, academic
success, relationships, government, power, wealth etc.
- The Bible is a fountain of knowledge. No Pastor has finished preaching the Bible.
One verse has uncountable messages over the years when read by different
individuals. Every believer can get a message and write a sermon from this same
Bible. No wonder, John 21:25 says even the world will not contain the books from
this fountain if all about Jesus was written.
26. The ear is for hearing and balancing. Endolymph in the ear keeps us balanced. If you
shake your head vigorously or turn around you will lose balance. Spiritually, our ears
can also receive news that can gladden our hearts or throw us off balance if we don’t
hold unto God’s word.
- Your mouth is both an output and input device. You can speak to others (output).
You can also speak to yourself and be reinforced (input) e.g. you can confess
God’s word, “I shall not die” and you get the faith to survive.
27. In the spirit realm our thoughts speak out loudly to God. In Gen. 11:1-5, the men
while preparing to build the tower attracted God to come and see what they were
building. They had not started. They were yet gathering materials but by their
80
determination, it was already seen as a work in progress in the realm of the spirit,
check that scripture again (Gen. 11:1-5).
Remember Abraham didn’t finally sacrifice Isaac. But God counted Abraham to have
already done it. God said “... because thou has done this and has not withheld thy son,
thy only son Isaac, in blessing I will bless thee…” (Gen. 22:16-17).
The implication is that imagining evil is equal to doing it (according to the laws of the
spirit realm). No wonder, positive imaginations also opens doors of good fortune for
you. This was what inspired the saying, “where there is a wish there is a way.” God
searches the heart (1Sam. 16:7, Rom. 8:27) and Jesus equates lustful looking to
adultery.
28. Any sin that goes with ‘pleasure’ is highly demonic, addictive and spiritual. E.g.
smoking, sexual sins, drunkenness etc. the demon makes the evil pleasure (a delicious
poison) come alive in the person’s soul and he yields again. The demon responsible
will always make the victim live a wretched life. The seat of these sins will shut down
the prophetic and other spiritual gifts which the victim should be manifesting. Jesus
delivers from such.
29. There’s power in meditation/keeping your mind still and pondering on God and
positive thoughts. If for instance, you are going to minister in songs in a church, sit
down and meditate on God’s mightiness/his works and the songs you are going to
minister on. Do this for about 20-30 minutes before you will mount the stage and
watch how anointing will flow. Compare this with when you would be cracking jokes
and be carried away in careless laughter 30 minutes before ministering. You discover
there will be a struggle. Avoid talkativeness, wandering looks and wandering
thoughts. Be still, keep your eyes single and think on God and see how your whole
body will be full of light (Luke 11:34).
Try this when looking for a misplaced item and you will definitely find it. The devil’s
trick is to push one into worry when something gets missing. Worry throws one off
balance, because it’s a negative mood. And guess what? Such a person becomes
somewhat ‘mad’. He can search the same pocket 10 times and even go outside to look
for something that’s always inside. But you know what? Phil. 4:6 enjoins us not to
worry.
Moses when confronted with lack of water/lack of food, the Red sea etc. never joined
the people to murmur and complain, and surely the solution will come miraculously
through Moses. When you are worried and searching for something, your little child
who is calm will just point at the thing and say look at it there. Spiritually, the worry
has blinded the right mind. This is also how anger can mar someone’s right mind.
Beware of bad moods. Try Phil.4:6 like Moses. When faced with an unpleasant
situation, bad news, loss, damage etc. refuse to manifest any form of worry. Maintain
81
a balanced mood. Be still and keep thinking on what to do and watch the finger of
God reverse the situation. By the integrity of God’s word, there must be an
idea/directive that will solve the problem.
30. When someone is in a given place, there exists some sounds the person can't hear
because they are beyond the human hearing frequency which science says is 20Hertz
to 20Kilo-Hertz. These sounds are tagged 'inaudible sounds. ' Elephants can pick very
low sounds (infrasonic), while dogs can pick very high-pitched sounds (ultrasonic). In
fact, there's a dog whistle, audible to dogs but inaudible to humans. On a very long
keyboard, if you keep pressing the notes towards the extreme right, the pitch will soon
become too high for the ears. Also, when you move towards the extreme left, the
sound becomes too low. In fact, try singing the major solfa notations -do, re, mi, fa,
so... continually up or down across various octaves and observe. Some nursing
mothers have noticed that if their little child falls and screams excessively, the child's
voice can transcend the audible into inaudibility and the baby can even become
unconscious. Shouting in itself is spiritual. In John 11:43, Jesus awoke Lazarus with
a loud voice. Some fragrances exist but our nose cannot pick the smell. Some insects
communicate with smells across miles. Houseflies can detect smells beyond human
smell-frequency. Some animals attack a human when the person is afraid, as though
their nose can detect the smell of adrenaline released right inside man. There are some
things around us that are invisible to the human eye. As we all know, light helps our
vision. Imagine, if a very powerful light is brought near you, you cease to see. Why?
Frequency. In science, there's visible light and invisible light. Some animals can see in
the dark (e.g. cats) and, some can even look at the sun (eagles). Some folks believe
that some animals can see spirits. If you reduce your reading lamp in excess you stop
seeing the text/book. Also, excessive increase in the brightness will make you stop
seeing the book. But the book and the texts still exist. We have our guardian angels
but we are not all in the spiritual frequency to see them. In a church service, angels
often visit. There are also demons here and there. If our eyes open to see all there is,
we may not walk on the streets, shake hands with people or even eat food. Animals
can drink dirty water because in their own frequency, they can't see/taste the dirtiness.
Angels seeing our meals may be seeing uncleanness and pollution and sin we humans
can't see. Microorganisms exist in some people's drinking water, but since they're not
visible they take the water. There's a way you quieten your soul and you hear more.
There's a way you can also travel in your mind and pick voices outside your
immediate environment and you will not get the lines of the story someone is telling
you right in front of you. God's frequency is infinite. God sees even in darkness. He
can grant you open windows from time to time, to see the invisible, hear the inaudible
and touch the intangible. The more you pray the larger the scope of your frequency.
When somebody is cursed, the voice echoes around him. This can be detected by a
82
prophet. When one's heart is filled, it emits some waves too that can be picked by a
seer. Life is spiritual indeed.
31. The devil cannot shed his blood for his followers, instead, he will ask them to bring
their father and bring their mother. But here is Jesus who came to the Earth being
100% God and 100% man, and for 33 and a half years he demonstrated his love for
mankind and paid in full for our redemption. Let’s follow Jesus.
