Before we start our discussion, here are the classroom standards that we should
consider all the time: It is important to build good relationships with our

Now that you know our classroom standards, I am expecting everyone to behave

So, before we proceed to our next lesson, let us have a short review by answering
this activity.
Direction: Identify the verb in each of the sentences below. Click on your
answer by picking out the underlined words or phrases in each sentence. (ICT

occurrence, or state of being. It comes in three tenses. First, you will learn the
past tense of verbs.
Our topic for today is all about verb tenses focusing on past tense, and its correct
usage. Having said that, we are expecting that at the end of the lesson, everybody
will be able to compose clear and coherent sentences using the past tense of the
verb.
C. Presenting We’re going to read a short story. Are you familiar with the story of “The Hare
examples/ and The T
instances of the ortoise”?
Lesson Awesome! Many of you are familiar with the story of the hare and the tortoise.
But before I read the story, I want you to remember the following reminders
while listening:
1. Sit up straight and tall
2. Keep hands and feet still.
3. Watch with your eyes.
4. Keep lips closed.
5. Listen with your ears.
The teacher will read the short story.
Once upon a time. There was a hare and a tortoise. They were good friends. One
day they challenged to run a race. The race started. The hare ran very fast. On the
way the hare decided to take rest. He stopped and slept. But the tortoise moved
steadily and reached the winning post. When the hare woke up. He ran very fast.
But he ashamed to see the tortoise there.

The first two columns are in group 1. The third and fourth columns are in group
2. Lastly, the fifth and sixth columns are in group 3. Each group will have a
different task to accomplish and will be given five (5) minutes to finish the task.
Before I give you the task card with instructions and materials to complete your
task, I want you to remember the following standards while working with your
classmates.

The teacher will give the task card (envelope) to each group.
Group 1: Write the past tense for the following terms. Write your answer on the
cartolina and post it.

Group 2: Inside the envelope are the incomplete sentences with the picture. Now,
you are going to complete the sentence by identifying what is on the picture and
giving its past tense form. You are going to complete the sentence by filling in
the blank with the past tense of the verb shown in the picture. Write your answer
on the cartolina and post it.
Group 3: Inside the envelope are the different pictures containing action verbs.
Each action verb is in its past tense form. After you have read the action verb,
you are going to make one sentence based on the picture. Write your answer on
the cartolina and post it.

The teacher will facilitate the group work of its learners. After the pupils finish
their work, each group will present their work in 3 minutes.
F. Developing With the activities done earlier, I know that you are now ready to do the next
Mastery activity on your own.
Individual Activity
The teacher will present a box with the verbs inside.
Direction: A random student will pick a verb inside the box. After reading the
verb picked inside the box, the student will then compose a sentence and present
it to the class.
The teacher will give the box to one pupil. The teacher will play a song, and
when the song plays, the pupil will pass the box to his seatmate. When the song
stops, the pupil who holds the box will be the one to pick a verb inside it compose
a sentence.
G. Finding The teacher will ask three questions, and the pupils will answer using the past
