 Step by Step Procedure on how to Backup and Restore.

Backup Your Computer with File History

You can use the File History feature in Windows 10 to back up to an

external drive or network location. Select Start > Settings > Update &

Security > Backup > Add a Drive, and then choose an external drive or

network location for your backups.

Restore your files with File [Link] you are missing an important file or

folder that you have backed up, here is how to get it back:

1. In the search box on the taskbar, type: Restore FilesThen select

Restore your files with File History.

2. Look for the file that you need, then use the arrows to see all its

versions.

3. When you find the version that you want, select Restore to save it in
its original location. To save it in a different place, right-click Restore,

select Restore to, and then choose a new location.

 Step by Step Procedure on how to start Defragment

1. Open the Start menu and type “defrag”

2. Click on “Defragment and Optimize Drives”

3. In the window that opens, you’ll see a list of your computer’s drives

4. Select the drive you want to defragment (usually C:)

5. Click the “Analyze” button to check the fragmentation level

6. If the drive is more than 10% fragmented, click “Optimize” or “click

defragment disk” to begin the process

7. Wait for the process to complete. This can take anywhere from a few

minutes to several hours, depending on your drive size and

fragmentation level

For older versions of Windows, the process is similar, but you might need

to look for “Disk Defragmenter” instead.


 Step by Step Procedure on how to access safemode.

1. Use Shift+Restart

2. Hold the Shift key while clicking Restart from the Shut down or sign

out menu.

3. Select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings >Restart.

4. After the PC restarts, there is a list of options. Select 4 or F4 or Fn+F4

(following the on-screen instructions) to start the PC in Safe Mode.

 Step by Step procedure on how to clean your RAM

1. Turn off the power.

2. Remove the RAM.

3. Use a soft brush to remove the dust from it.


4. Use the same brush or compressed air to gently remove the dust,

located in the RAM slots of the motherboard.

5. Take a rubber and carefully rub the RAM connectors.

6. Wipe the remaining practicals with a soft / microfiber clothe.
