Lesson 9

A web portal is a website that contains information from different sources and places them into one
location in a uniform way. Example is [Link]. Yahoo, offers a web portal where news, email,
weather, etc. are found in one page.
1. You can use Facebook groups to create a group page that will allow people in your group to
communicate your ideas
2. WordPress also allows you to multiple contributors for a single blog.
3. Google Drive and Microsoft Office Online allow multiple people to work on different office
files and even have their own group’s cloud storage
4. Microsoft’s Yammer offers companies to have their own social network that allows sharing
and managing content.
5. Sites like Trello offer an online to-do checklist for your entire team.

Lesson 10

1. [Link]. Through video hosting sites, you can take a video and show it to the entire world (e.g.,
YouTube)
2. Sound, Music, or Audio. If videos are too much for you, you can always record sounds. You
can now share your sound bites to the entire world (e.g., Soundcloud).
3. Online Games. Game developers now create what is called “browser-based games.” You do
not need to install these games to your computer as they run in most updated web browser
(e.g., AdventureQuest, Farmville, Candy Crush).
4. Online tests. Online survey forms and tests that automatically display the results when
finished (e.g., Online IQ and Personality Tests).
5. Courseware. Online courses that simulate the classroom online (e.g., E-learning Courses
using a Learning Management System).
6. Podcasts. An episodic series of audio or text files streamed online (e.g., Stuff You Should
Know, TED Talks, The Starters, Ear Biscuits).
7. Vodcasts. An episodic series of video streamed online (e.g., YouTube series/shows like Video
Game High School, Good Mythical Morning).

EMBEDDING FILE
1. Search any OPM songs of your choice on [Link]. You can use an official music videos
or someone else’s upload.
2. Go to the bottom of the video and click the Share button.
3. Click on Embed.
4. Copy the code similar to the screenshot below.
5. Create a new post on your WordPress then on the editor, click on the Text tab.
6. Paste your code here.
7. Go back to the Visual tab and add text content on either the top of your video or the bottom.
8. Preview then publish the content

Multimedia – uses multiple media contents like videos, sounds, applications, etc

Lesson 11
 People Power Revolution – a major protest that took place along EDSA from February 22-25,
1986 involving two million Filipinos from different sectors
 Radyo Veritas – a radio station used by Cardinal Sin to encourage people to end the regime
of former President Marcos
 Million People March – a series of protest mainly took place in Luneta Park from August 22-
26, 2013. PDAF or Philippine Development Assistance Fund was the reason of this protest and
over 400,000 people joined this protest. It was fueled by online campaign (facebook,
[Link])
 [Link] – a website that contains campaigns for social change (“world’s platform for
change”)
 EDSA Dos – a major protest after prosecutors of former President Estrada walked out of the
impeachment trial in 2001 (text brigades)
 Yolanda People Finder. Recent storms in Philippines history gave birth to the People finder
database powered by Google.

Lesson 12
1. Introduction – includes your group’s mission and vision and a brief introduction of your project.
2. Purpose – includes the reasons why this project is worth your group and your sponsor’s time,
effort, and money.
3. Description – includes all the necessary information about the project. In ICT, it involves the sites
you are going to produce and the purpose of each and how they work in unison.
4. Support – contains the budget needed for the project. Some concept papers do not specify any
amount requested from the sponsor.
5. Contact Information – includes information on how the group can be contacted.

Concept Paper – a document used to convince a panel of potential funders to help a product, program,
or service become a reality
• Planning – involves the conceptualization of your project
• Development – involves the actual creation of a website or blog
• Release and Promotion – involves the actual release of the website or blog and its promotion
• Maintenance – involves responding to feedback and the continuing improvement of the
website

Lesson 13

In your Facebook page, a summary of the statistics will appear on the right side of your cover photo
Hovering your mouse pointer over “Post Reach” will give you more insights on which recent post
reached the most people
Clicking on the Insights tab (located at the top of your page) will give you more in-depth statistics
Overview – contains the summary of statistics about your page
Reach – the overall people or demographic that saw a certain post or how many people you have reach
• Organic – reach obtained through sharing without paying for advertisement
• Paid – reach obtained through advertisement
• Demographics – the statistics which includes (but not limited to) your audience’s age, location,
gender, language, and country
• Insights – contains the statistics of the traffic of your Facebook page
People – contains statistics about your audience’s demographics (age, location, gender, language, and
country). It also includes demographics about the people you have reached and engaged with.
Posts – contains data showing when (day and time) your site visitors visit your site
Visit – contains data of the number of times your page tabs (like the Timeline) are visited
Likes – contains the statistics about the trend of page likes

WordPress offers statistics about each post that you made. You can check the blog’s popularity daily,
weekly, monthly, and annually. Facebook also offers statistical tools capable of telling the page owner
about the page’s performance. It also includes the demographics of the page’s visitors which is
essential in creating and posting future content

Lesson 14

a. Question Title – includes the question that will be answered by your audience
b. Help Text – creates a subtext under the question to give more information about a question
c. Question Type – changes the type of question according to your preference.
These options include:
1. Text – a question that can be answered in a short text
2. Paragraph Text – a question that can be answered in a long text
3. Multiple Choice – a question that can be answered by only one answer in a set of options
4. Checkboxes – a question that can be answered with multiple answers in a set of options
5. Choose from a List – similar to a multiple-choice question but the options are revealed in a
drop-down list
6. Scale – a question that can be answered with a numerical range (e.g., 1-5,1- 10)
7. Grid – a question that contains sub-questions with similar options as shown
• Date – a question that can be answered with a specified date
• Time – a question that can be answered with a specified time
Feedback – allows your site’s visitors to have their say about the site’s strengths and weaknesses
Google Forms – a tool used to get user feedback
Short URL – a link intended to be a short version of a URL

Section Header – adds a header for a specific a part of your survey


Page Break – adds a page break which means that the items at the button of the page will be
added to the next page; necessary if you survey is too long
Image – adds an image to your survey
Video – adds a video to your survey

a) Link to share – contains the URL that you can share on your website
b) Embed – contains an embed code to attach to your HTML
c) Short URL – generates the shorter URL necessary for limited spaces like sharing on Twitter
d) Share link via – allows you to share the link to Google+, Facebook, and Twitter
e) Send form via email – allows you to share the form via email
f) Add Collaborators – allows others to edit your form, necessary when working in groups

• Phishing/Spoofing – also referred to as spoofing; an act of spamming emails
• Spam – unwanted emails
• Blackmails/Extortion – act of asking something in return of not showing something that could
damage someone’s reputation
• Hacking/Accessing Stored Communication– the act of obtaining authorized information
• Cyberbullying – an act of harassment using electronic means
• Copyright Infringement – an act of piracy mainly for financial gain
• Encryption – the process of converting raw data into code
• Sports Betting – the act of wagering on any sports event over the Internet
• Non-Delivery of Merchandise – the act of devising a scheme wherein a culprit posts an item
or service for sale on the Internet and once the transactions have been done, does not really
give the item or service
• Electronic Harassment – the act of anonymously using the Internet to harass, abuse, threaten,
or annoy people.
• Child Pornography – the act of using the Internet to show child pornography. This act is
highly punishable by law
• Prostitution – the act of using the Internet to engage in prostitution.
• Drug Trafficking – the act of selling illegal substances using the Internet.
• ThePirateBay website that is used for piracy movies.

Network Security. Before a hacker can get through the unauthorized files he or she is targeting, the
hacker has to get through several security measures.
Investigation. URL tracing and logging are used by websites to track your unique IP address.
Penalties. More and more laws are being created and implemented today. Penalties include both a fine
and imprisonment.
