FA 2: Creative Drawing or paint images that portray the five types of prayer, Short Prayer and
Insight.
LOs activated: LO3
A.) Draw a creative way or paint an image that portrays the five types of prayer. You can
use any materials for your painting or drawing.
B.) Short Prayer Response: Read Jeremiah 29:11-14. Write a short prayer-response to
God’s word. (15 Sentences)
Father God, as I reflect on Jeremiah 29:11-14, my heart overflows with gratitude for
Your unwavering plans for my life—plans to prosper me and not to harm me, plans to give me
hope and a future. Thank you for the assurance that You know my thoughts and plans, and that
Your thoughts toward me are far greater than my own. I confess that I often allow anxiety and
fear to cloud my vision, hindering my ability to fully trust in Your perfect timing and perfect will.
Forgive me, Lord, for my lack of faith and my tendency to worry about the unknown. Help me to
silence the voice of doubt and replace it with the unwavering confidence in Your promises. I
surrender my anxieties and uncertainties to You, trusting that You are working all things
together for my good, according to Your perfect plan. Grant me the wisdom and discernment to
recognize Your hand in my life, even amidst challenges and uncertainties. Empower me to live
each day with hope and expectation, knowing that You are with me, guiding my steps and
shaping my destiny. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard my heart and
mind in Christ Jesus. I thank You, Lord, for Your immeasurable love and unfailing grace. Amen.
C.) My Insight: Make a Reflection about this saying, into 10 sentences only. “The pure
prayer that ascends from a faithful heart will be like incense rising from a hollowed altar”
(St. Augustine)
This saying reminds me of the importance of praying with sincerity and faith. When I
pray with a pure heart, free from distractions and doubts, it feels like my words are truly
reaching God. I realize that God values honesty and genuine devotion in prayer more than
anything else. It’s not about saying the perfect words but about opening my heart to Him.
When I think of prayer as incense, it shows me how beautiful and meaningful my
connection with God can be. Just like incense rises and fills the air, my prayers rise to heaven
when I pray with love and faith. It also reminds me to keep my heart as an altar, sacred and
focused on God.
I see prayer as a way to bring peace and hope to my soul, especially in tough times. This
reflection inspires me to pray more deeply and trust that God hears me. It teaches me to
approach Him with humility, knowing that pure prayer pleases Him.
ASSESSMENT # 3
FA 3: A.) Question and Answer:
1. How did God encounter Moses? What are the personal circumstances of Moses at the
time God encountered him?
God encountered Moses in a very dramatic way. He appeared to Moses in a burning
bush, but the bush wasn't consumed by the flames. This was a miraculous event, and God called
out to Moses by name, "Moses! Moses!" This shows that God was intentional in reaching out to
him. At the time, Moses was living in exile, far from his homeland and his people. He was a
shepherd, tending his father-in-law's sheep in the wilderness. This humble and solitary life gave
him time for reflection and a connection with nature. He was also hesitant and doubtful when
God called him, showing that he was not expecting this encounter.
2. When God reveals Himself in prayer, it is ordered to the service of neighbor. Prayer is
Service – oriented. God chooses whomever He wills to send regardless of one’s
Background. What does this imply?
This implies that God’s plans and purposes originate from His own will, not from human
qualifications or efforts. God can use anyone, regardless of their past or current situation, to
fulfill His mission. The encounter between God and Moses demonstrates that divine revelation
is often accompanied by a call to serve others. Moses’ mission to liberate the Israelites
highlights how prayer and encounters with God lead to responsibilities toward the greater
good. It teaches that God’s grace transforms individuals into instruments for His purpose,
showing His power to work through anyone He chooses.
B.) Comparative Study on the Gospel
a. Luke 19:45-46
Context: Jesus is cleansing the Temple, driving out the merchants and money changers.
Key Points: Jesus says, "My house shall be a house of prayer, but you have made it a den
of robbers." He emphasizes the Temple's purpose as a place of prayer and worship.
Comparison: This passage aligns with the other Gospels in highlighting Jesus' authority
and concern for the Temple's sanctity.
b. Mark 11:15-17
Context: Jesus enters Jerusalem and cleanses the Temple, similar to the account in Luke.
Key Points: Mark focuses on Jesus' anger and the Temple's defilement by those who
were profiting from it. He uses strong language, describing Jesus as "overturning the
tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves."
Comparison: Mark's account emphasizes Jesus' righteous anger and the urgency of
restoring the Temple's original purpose.
c. Matthew 21:12-13
Context: Matthew also recounts Jesus cleansing the Temple, but he adds a detail about
Jesus' quotation from the prophet Zechariah: "My house shall be called a house of prayer
for all nations."
Key Points: Matthew emphasizes the Temple's universal purpose, welcoming people of
all nations to pray there.
Comparison: Matthew's account highlights the broader implications of Jesus' actions,
connecting them to prophecy and the universality of God's love.
d. John 2:14-17
Context: John's account of the Temple cleansing is different from the synoptic Gospels.
It occurs at the beginning of Jesus' ministry, during the Passover festival.
Key Points: John focuses on Jesus' authority and power as he confronts the merchants.
He uses the phrase "a house of prayer," but he doesn't mention driving out the
merchants.
Comparison: John's account emphasizes Jesus' divine authority and the beginning of his
conflict with the religious leaders.
ASSESSMENT #4
TLA 1: Answer the following:
a. Recall an experience of paying a surprise visit to one of your friends or relatives.
1. Where they prepared?
No, they weren’t prepared, but they still welcomed us warmly. They offered food and
drinks, even though they didn’t have much time to prepare anything special. Their hospitality
made us feel valued and appreciated despite the surprise.
2. How did they react?
They were surprised but immediately gave us big hugs. They looked genuinely happy to
see us since it had been months or even years since we last got together due to busy schedules
and life plans. Their excitement and joy made the moment even more meaningful.
3. What impression did you have about them?
I felt they were both shocked and overjoyed. Their warm reaction and eagerness to
spend time with us showed how much they valued our relationship, even though the visit was
unplanned. It made me appreciate them even more.
b. Now recall an experience of being visited by someone by surprise.
1. Where you prepared?
No, I wasn’t prepared at all. I hadn’t expected anyone to come over, so the house wasn’t
fully tidy, and I didn’t have anything special to offer them.
2. What do you think the guest was thinking?
I think they were probably curious about my home, noticing the type of house I lived in,
how it was arranged, and the general atmosphere. They might have been wondering how
comfortable or welcoming the place felt to them.
3. What impression do you think the guest had about you?
I believe their impression was positive, as they likely felt happy to see me. Despite being
unprepared, I did my best to make them feel welcome. I think they appreciated my warmth and
effort to accommodate them, even on such short notice.
ASSESSMENT # 5
FA 1: a.) Mind Mapper:
b.) Flag Marker: Is God unfair when He does not grant our prayers?
No, God is not unfair when He doesn't grant our prayers. God has a plan for our lives,
and sometimes the answer to our prayer may not be what we expect or want at that moment.
There are times when God's response is different from what we ask for because He sees the
bigger picture and knows what's best for us. His plan often includes solutions or blessings that
we might not fully understand right away, but they are meant to guide us to a better path. And
there are prayers that can be harmful, like when we ask for something that could hurt others or
go against God's will for love and kindness. God knows what is truly good for us and for others,
and sometimes He doesn't grant prayers that could cause harm or lead us away from His
purpose.
ASSESSMENT # 6
FA 2: Reflection: Journal Writing: Read John. 2:14-16 and answer the following questions
below.
1. What word, phrase, line or verse is most meaningful to you? (LECTIO) repeated,
reverent reading of the suggested biblical text.
The phrase "Take these things away; stop making my Father's house a marketplace!"
(John 2:16) stood out to me. It shows how Jesus was upset because people were using the
temple for the wrong reasons.
2. What is the Lord telling you in that most meaningful word, phrase, line or verse?
(MEDITATIO) entering into the truth of the text.
In this verse, I feel that Jesus is telling me to keep my faith and worship pure. He wants
me to focus on God and not let worldly things take over my relationship with Him. The temple
was meant to be a place of respect and reverence, not a place for business or distractions.
3. How have I concretely experienced this most meaningful word, phrase, line or verse in
my life? (focus on one experience only) Talk to Jesus, the Living Word. (ORATIO) Listen to
Jesus (CONTEMPLATIO)
I remember a time when I was too distracted by everyday concerns, and it made it hard
to focus on my relationship with God. I was busy with work, school, and other things, and I
didn't make enough time for prayer or worship. But I realized that I needed to set aside those
distractions and make more time to connect with God, just like Jesus wanted us to keep the
temple sacred.
4. What feelings were evoked during your time of prayer?
During my prayer, I felt a sense of conviction and a desire to purify my heart. I felt like
Jesus was calling me to make my life more focused on Him and less on things that distract me
from His love.
5. (ACTIO) is making fruitful what the Word has taught us. What does the text want me to
do?
The text is asking me to remove distractions and focus more on my relationship with
God. It’s a reminder to make sure that my actions and intentions are aligned with God’s will and
not driven by selfish desires. I need to create space in my life for prayer, worship, and reflection.
ASSESSMENT #7
FA 3: Reaction and Questions
1.) Read Catechism of the Catholic Church 2759-2865 and make a reaction on the
documents.
After reading the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC 2759–2865), I realized how
powerful and meaningful the Lord’s Prayer is. It’s not just a set of words to recite but a guide
that teaches us how to pray and live as followers of Christ.
The way it starts with “Our Father” reminds me that God is a loving Father who cares for
everyone, not just me. It also helps me see others as my brothers and sisters in faith. I love how
it focuses on God’s will being done on earth as it is in heaven. It makes me think about how I can
do my part to make the world a better place and live according to His plans.
The prayer also teaches me to trust God for my daily needs, like the part where we ask
for “our daily bread.” It shows me that I can rely on Him for both spiritual and physical needs.
The line about forgiving others is a reminder of how important forgiveness is, and it challenges
me to let go of grudges and ask for forgiveness when I mess up.
2.) Question and Answer:
1. Jesus drove the money-changers from the temple for what reasons? In Baptism, we
became temples of the Holy Spirit. If Christ comes into your heart this Moment, what do
you think will He find there? A den of thieves or a house of prayer? If Jesus comes into
your temple at this moment, what “idols” do you think He will find There? Can you
honestly say that you are God’s temple where one can find a Continuous sacrifice of
praise?
Jesus drove the money-changers from the temple because they were disrespecting a
sacred place meant for worship and prayer. They were using the temple for business and
personal gain, turning it into a marketplace instead of a house of God. Jesus was angry because
they were corrupting something holy and using it for selfish purposes.
I think He would call me to let go of those “idols” and turn my focus back to Him. It’s a
humbling reminder to keep my heart pure and centered on God, making it a true temple where
He is honored. I want my life to be a continuous sacrifice of praise, where my actions, thoughts,
and prayers reflect His love and goodness. It's not always easy, but with His grace, I can strive to
make my heart a home where He can dwell fully.
2. How important is prayer for you?
What difference does prayer make in your life? In your decision making?
What is the place of prayer in your family life? How are you an example to others?
Prayer is very important to me because it connects me with God and gives me peace. It
helps me make better decisions by giving me clarity and confidence when I ask for His guidance.
In my family, prayer strengthens our bond with God and each other. I try to set an
example by being patient, forgiving, and trusting in His plans, hoping to inspire others to seek
their own relationship with Him.
3. How do you pray? Mechanically? Selfishly? Do you pray for others?
Do you pray for your enemies?
I pray for myself—for guidance in my path, strength to overcome my mistakes, and
clarity to face my doubts. I also pray for my family’s safety, health, and guidance, asking God to
bless and protect them in all they do.
I pray for others as well, including friends, those who are struggling, and even people I
don’t know personally but need prayers. I also pray for my enemies, asking God to touch their
hearts, bring them peace, and help me forgive them. Prayer is my way of trusting God with
everything and everyone in my life.
