What is Project Coding Mask?

Ans: Project Coding helps display complex project numbers. They can also be used to indicate the
position of a WBS element in the project hierarchy.

We can create a mask for every key you want to use in project coding. Project Definition has to be
unique in the SAP System and also WBS Element has to be unique in the SAP System.

Project code is changeable and the hierarchy can be changed up to a certain point of project
status.

Project Code has 2 parts

Part 1: Project Identifier (Project Coding Mask)

Part 2: Project Number (usually a serial number)

Every project begins with a Project ID (max. 5 Characters), Using separators to distinguish the
different WBS levels. e.g.: "/", "-", "."

Define Authorization Key for WBS

In this activity you define authorization key for WBS (Work Breakdown structure) which can be
used for setting up an authorization check when you manually set on delete a user status. When
you set on delete a user status, the SAP system checks whether the user is authorized for this
action.

structure length should be equal to characters in project length.
 ET : – Entry tool is an special characters to enter WBS element faster.
 SP : – Special characters separates WBS (Work breakdown
structures) number, avoid the special characters ; + ? and %.
 Edit : – If you check this indicator, it specifies that only coded project
numbers are used with in the project system.
 Ano : – Automatic number assignment specifies that assignment of

Resource-Related Billing in SAP refers to a process where costs associated
with specific orders or services are billed to the customer based on the
resources consumed during execution. Here are some typical examples of
scenarios where resource-related billing is used:
1. Make-to-Order Production: When you produce customized or unique
items based on specific customer orders, resource-related billing helps
allocate costs accurately.
2. External Plant Maintenance: In cases where maintenance services
are provided externally (e.g., by a service company), resource-related
billing ensures that costs are appropriately charged to the customer.
3. Specific Services (e.g., Consulting): For services like consulting,
where time and effort play a significant role, resource-related billing
tracks the resources utilized and generates accurate billing documents.
