WHAT LESSONS HAVE YOU LEARNED:
The lessons that we learn about Freedom of expression and media in the Philippines
is the importance of having this as a basic human right. The article taught us that we as a
Filipino Citizen, we have the ability to give our opinions and express ourselves without
hindrance in today’s societal issues and events. As a Filipino youth, we need to take part in
the development of democracy and practice our rights to speak.
We also learned that even though we exercise democracy in our country, there are
challenges that we faced and difficulties associated with publishing information when our
opinion contradicts another. It shows us that in every opinion we release to the public there
are consequences and conflicts that can pressure us in standing up for the truth.
However, despite the odds, we will seek for the truth and nothing but the truth and
continue our commitment in serving the public by giving out voices to those that is unheard.
WHAT SUGGESTION CAN YOU OFFER:
As a group who seeks for truth, integrity and freedom. We suggest that this freedom
of expression should not be limited to one country but we think that this is a part of ethical
consideration for our universal values that should be upheld worldwide. We can be a voice
and encouraged youth throughout the world to promote transparency and informed
freedom of expression. By using our social media and connection to our friends, we can give
viewpoints on how we can be better in exercising our freedom of expression and value the
independent journalism. Additionally, as a future educator for our future students, we can
teach them by explaining the concept of freedom of expression and its significance in our
country. This will help them voice their thoughts and opinion without fear. In conclusion,
Highlighting the idea with responsibility and integrity. We aim to teach the students about
the fair use of freedom of expression using technology like media. We are going to discuss
the ethical points of expressing ourselves and give respect to other. We are going to explain
that even we have this freedom of expression, this is not a license to harm others. We
encourage them we can use the freedom of expression for a positive change throughout the
world.
