ADELE
Adele is a British singer and songwriter, winner of multiple
Grammy Awards, an Oscar Award and several Brit Awards. She is
recognized for her emotional songs and albums that talk about
breakups and personal experiences. She is also a prominent
songwriter, who has written songs for other singers such as Sia.
In 2008, he released his debut studio album, 19, which peaked at
No. 1 on the British album chart and has been certified eight
times platinum in the United Kingdom and triple platinum in the
United States.67 At the Awards Brit 2008 received the ‹critics'
choice› award and also won the BBC's Sound of 2008 poll. A
year later, at the 51st Grammy Awards, she won best new artist
and best female pop vocal performance for "Chasing Pavements."
At the beginning of 2011, he released his second studio album,
21, and it was commercially successful around the world, selling
more than thirty million copies. Due to its sales, it has been
certified eighteen times platinum in the United Kingdom and in
the United States it was certified diamond certification.
In 2012 he released "Skyfall", the lead single from the soundtrack
of the James Bond film of the same name. With it he managed to
win an Oscar and a Golden Globe for best original song in 2013,
and the following year a Grammy.
After a three-year break, Adele released her third studio album,
25, in November 2015 and it became the best-selling album of
that year, breaking sales records in several countries. 25 is her
second album to be certified diamond in the United States,16 and
it also won five Grammy Awards, including album of the year,
and four Brit Awards, also including album of the year.
The lead single, "Hello", became the first song to sell over one
million digital copies in the United States in its week of release.
After five years of inactivity, in 2021 he released his fourth studio
album, 30, which became the best-selling album of that year in
the world. The album was preceded by the lead single, "Easy on
Me". In 2022, 30 received the award for British album of the year
at the Brit Awards.
Throughout her career she has been awarded a total of sixteen
Grammy Awards, twelve Brit Awards, an Oscar, a Golden Globe
and an Emmy, among others. In 2013, she was decorated as a
Member of the Order of the British Empire by Prince Charles.
1920 Billboard magazine named her artist of the year in 2011,
2012 and 2016.
In 2012, VH1 included her in fifth place of the 100 Greatest
Women in Music,22 and Time magazine called her one of the
most influential people in the world in 2012 and 2016.23 Her
third musical tour broke records of sales worldwide, including the
United Kingdom, Australia and the United States. In 2020, his
album 21 has been included in the list of the 500 greatest albums
of all time according to Rolling Stone.
