About IIC:
IIC is India’s pre-eminent ‘not for profit’ industry body with an exclusive focus on developing the
Impact investing ecosystem in the country. Supported by more than 50 active members comprising
most leading impact funds in the country, the key agendas for IIC include different aspects such as:
Engaging Capital Providers across asset classes and sectors to mobilise capital for impact
Moving Beyond Equity to explore innovative finance structures including debt and blended finance
Diversifying Impact Narrative in diverse markets such as climate-tech, gender lens among others
Engaging Regulators and Policy to facilitate a conducive policy environment for the development of
impact finance
IIC has also launched a pioneering Blended Finance initiative - India Blended Finance Collaborative
(IBFC) with the aim to catalyse Innovative Finance in India.
IIC is a small team with presence in Mumbai, Bangalore and Gurgaon. While we do have clearly
allocated roles for all, our size keeps us flexible and entrepreneurial, giving opportunity to everyone
in the team to work cross-functionally.
IIC’s Research Agenda:
We are looking to augment our Research initiatives with an Associate - Research. IIC’s research
initiatives are aimed at enabling the impact investing ecosystem with evidence backed research,
market insights as well as knowledge creation events and conventions that help unravel the potential
and opportunities for impact investing in India.
The Role of Research Associate at IIC: Key Accountabilities
1. Primary & Secondary research: Engaging in data collation, organisation and analysis for
arriving at trends and insights that aid investors in decision making. This research also includes
deal tracking and database management of impact investment deals as well as blended
finance transactions. IIC today manages possibly the only dedicated database of all India
focussed impact related deals over the last decade.
2. Engaging in discussions with IIC members and other ecosystem stakeholders towards
understanding industry insights and expectations
3. Knowledge creation and dissemination through research reports, white papers and periodic
online bulletins that assess the impact investing landscape
4. Extending cross-functional support and collaboration towards other initiatives of IIC centred
around investor outreach, member engagement and policy advocacy. The Research team
supports the team with research inputs required for convenings, webinars and workshops
with senior stakeholders in the industry
The typical output of Research driven tasks would be a research paper or a publication. Some of the

What kind of Person are we looking for?
1. A strong believer in the transformative power of finance used right with deep commitment to
creating social impact.
2. An experience of 1-3 years with a strong interest / background in the Indian / International
corporate sector/ financial market/ development sector with a high level of curiosity and
strong learning orientation. At the margin, we are also open to looking at fresh graduates with
exceptional academic credentials or a demonstrated tangible interest in the impact investing
space.
3. A background in financial analysis / industry research / with a degree in finance is ideal. A good
academic record is highly preferred.
4. Strong excel skills; excellent oral and written communication skills
5. Ability and openness to multi-task and work in collaboration with both internal and external
stakeholders.
