Introducing the new Candidate Hub – powered by Sterling, that’s designed
to impress and engage right from the start
At Sterling, we’ve made it our mission to provide the foundation of trust and safety our clients
need to create great environments for their most essential resource, people.
Because candidates are at the heart of our business, we’re doing our part to simplify and
continuously improve the candidate experience during the background screening process, from
start to finish.
The new modernized Candidate Hub by Sterling delivers a seamless, more efficient background
screening experience for candidates anywhere, anytime – and ensures meaningful and
compelling engagement with top talent throughout the hiring experience.
HERE’S HOW STERLING DELIVERS A BETTER CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE
▪ Provides candidates the flexibility to enter their information from any device
▪ Candidates save time with document upload and e-signature
▪ Candidates can easily login using Gmail credentials
▪ The Activity Center conveniently provides assistance by viewing tasks to be completed, review
reports, and access signed documents
▪ Text notifications and reminders provide alerts for easy task completion
▪ Once the data collection is complete, candidates can conveniently schedule tests to close out
the screening process.

Step One
The client initiates the request by sending
their candidate an e-invite through the
ScreeningDirect dashboard.
Press Send.

Step Two
The candidate will receive an email
containing a link to the Sterling Candidate
Hub.
The candidate selects Click here to begin.

Step Three
After the candidate clicks the link, they will
be re-directed to the log in page of the
Sterling Candidate Hub.
The candidate’s email will pre-populate in
the email address / user name field.
From here, the candidate will create and
confirm a password for this account, and
then click Create Account.

Step Four
A new email will be sent to the candidate confirming that they created a new account, and they will
be directed to click the link to Confirm, which will take them back to the Candidate Hub log in page.

Step Five
From there, the candidate must enter their
email address and password,
then click Log in.
After logging in, the candidate will be
required to verify their location.

Step Six
After verifying their location, the candidate is taken through a series of consent forms (digital
signature, disclosure, authorization, state law, FCRA, etc.) that’s required to begin their background
screening process.
Candidates must view and sign all relevant forms.

Step Seven
After electronically viewing and signing the consent forms, the candidate will begin entering their
personal information, including date of birth, full name, SSN and address history.
The following screens will vary based on your Sterling services, but this User Guide reflects Criminal,
Employment, and Education Verifications.

Step Eight
After the candidate supplies their personal
information, Sterling will collect
employment history.
Click Next.

Step Nine
After the candidate inputs employment
information, they click Next and fill out
education history.

Step Ten
After completing employment and
education history, the candidate is allowed
to upload any documents by dragging or
browsing for a file. In some cases, there
may be a list of required documents. On
mobile devices, the candidate can take a
photo and upload it to this section.

Step Eleven .
After clicking Next, the next step contains a Review. If something was missed while completing the
first three tabs, this section will alert the candidate to Fix Issues.
When all alerts have been resolved, the candidate can continue.

Step Twelve
While in the Review tab, the information entered will be displayed with an option to edit, if needed.
If not, press Confirm.

Step Thirteen
The final page of the Candidate Hub is the
Complete section. This lets the candidate
know their information has been
submitted and provides details on how to
contact Sterling if necessary.

Step Thirteen Continued
The final page of the Candidate Hub is the
Complete section. This lets the candidate
know their information has been
submitted and provides further details on
how to contact Sterling if necessary.
From the Activity Center you can see when
tasks were completed, and any attached
documents.
