ART CLUB

Part 2: Tell me a painting or a photo that you like

I love a photo of my family that was taken during a holiday last summer. We went to
Nha Trang and enjoyed the spectacular and beautiful scenery. The photo shows us
all smiling. It brings back memories of love, laughter, and happiness.
Part 3:
1. I kept a painting for a long time. Tell me a thing that you have had for a
long time.
I’ve had a journal for many years. It holds a collection of my personal reflections,
sketches, and memories from various stages of life. It’s become a meaningful
keepsake, reminding me of my personal growth and significant moments along the
way.
2. I would like to learn painting, but I have not found an effective way.
Should I take a course at my local college? Please, give me some advice.
I also love to take up painting. I think it is an effective and interesting way to reduce
stress after a nine-to-five job. If I were you, I would consider taking a painting
course at the local college because it offers structured guidance, feedback, and
exposure to various techniques.
3. Street art – where people paint on the building – are becoming popular.
However, some people criticize that it is bad. What is your opinion?
Street art on buildings is gaining popularity and adds vibrancy to urban spaces.
While some criticize it as vandalism, I believe it can be a positive way to engage the
community and spark important conversations. Of course, it’s crucial for street art
to be created with permission and adhere to legal and ethical standards.
Part 4:
“Dear all members,
The Art Club is organizing a talk to the public to attract more attention. We are
going to invite an artist to give a talk to members. As a member of our club, could
you give us an artist to join our talk and what topic should they share to gain more
attention. We would like to have more both young and elderly members.”
1. Write an email to your friend – also a member of the club.
Hi Annie,
How have you been lately? I hope everything is going well with you. Have you seen
the Art Club’s latest notice? We’re planning a public talk with an artist to draw more
attention. To be honest, I’m over the moon about this exciting news! I’d love to hear
your suggestions for a suitable artist and any topic ideas you have. Let’s make this
event unforgettable!
Love,
Minh Anh
2. Write an email to the organizer of the plan.
Dear Sir,
I hope this reaches you in the best of health. I am writing to express my enthusiasm
and my suggestions about the upcoming public talk we are organizing. I am truly
excited about the opportunity to engage both our current members and potential
new ones through this event.
In terms of recommendations, I believe inviting an artist who has a unique
perspective or innovative approach could greatly enhance the event. For instance,
an artist known for their community-oriented projects or one with a compelling
personal story might resonate well with a diverse audience. Additionally,
incorporating a topic that bridges art with broader social or cultural issues could
attract significant interest.
I am keen to assist in any way I can to ensure the success of this event. Thank you
for considering my suggestions. I look forward to contributing to what promises to
be an inspiring and memorable talk.
Best regards,
Minh Anh
BEAUTIFUL HOMES CLUB
Part 2: Why do you want to join the Beautiful Homes club?
I want to join the Beautiful Homes Club because I have a passion for interior design
and decoration. Being part of this club would allow me to exchange ideas with like-
minded people, learn new design techniques, and gain inspiration for improving my
own home. It’s also a great opportunity to expand my network with others who
share an interest in home design.
Part 3:
A: I have a bad relationship with my neighbors because they often make
noise. Tell me how is your relationship with your neighbors?
I get along well with my neighbors. We help each other out when needed, like
borrowing tools or taking care of each other’s homes. We greet each other when we
meet, and sometimes we chat briefly. There’s a sense of community and support,
which makes living here comfortable and friendly.
B: Do you prefer living in old buildings or modern buildings? Why?
I would love to live in modern buildings because they usually offer updated facilities,
better energy eficiency, and more convenienc. Modern buildings often come with
amenities like gyms, parking, elevators, which make daily life more comfortable.
C: The house should be designed in a way that is good for the
environment. Do you agree?
Yes, I agree. Designing a house with environmental considerations in mind helps
reduce its impact on the planet. Using energy-efficient materials, renewable energy,
and good insulation can save costs and create a healthier living space.
PART 4 :
Dear member,
The cost of maintaining old buildings is very high and these buildings take up a lot
of space. The government has a proposal that we knock down old buildings and
build more modern blocks.
1, write to a friend (50 words).
Hi Annie,
How have you been lately? I hope you are well. Have you seen the new notice form
our club? We received a proposal from the government to demolish old buildings
and replace them with modern blocks. To be honest, I was in black mood when I
heard this news. I think our club should discuss this more before making any
decisions. Maybe we could suggest a plan where only the least valuable are
replaced, while preserving the more historically important ones. What do you think?
Drop me a line!
Love,
Minh Anh
2, write to the club (120 – 150 words).
