Zeolite Clinoptilolite Conversion

Equipment Requirements:
1. Vacuum oven -

2. Pyrex Dishes OR a roll of parchment paper
3. Ethanol or Isopropyl alcohol (ethanol preferred)
4. Buchner Funnel Filtration Device with vacuum pump-

For a 1 kg batch size


a. Preheat your oven to 127C
B. Remove your trays from the oven
C. Place pyrex dish on top of the oven tray
D. Spread 2 kg of zeolite evenly (2:1 zeolite:CBD) across the pyrex dish. Make sure it is evenly
distributed across the bottom. There should be no glass showing.
E. Spread 1kg of CBD isolate in a thin layer on top of that. (The wider the dish/the thinner the
layers = the greater possibility for conversion)

F. Place your tray into the vacuum oven and close the door.
G. draw a low and slow vacuum. Vacuum does not need to go all the way down just enough to
evacuate the atmosphere in the chamber.
H. Set a timer for 13 minutes.
I. Open the atmosphere intake valve on your oven to bring the oven back to atmospheric
pressure.
II. Remove the tray from the oven and scrape all of the material into a beaker or other
container for washing.

WASHING AND FILTRATION

1. Mix 2:1 ethanol:miscella (zeolite/oil) in the container from the previous step.
2. Stir for about 15 minutes while still warm to allow everything to homogenize thoroughly.
3. Assemble your buchner funnel set up with a 2.5 micron filtration paper.
4. Wet the paper with pure ethanol to seat the paper properly and pull a light vacuum.
5. Pour the contents of your washing container into the buchner funnel and allow the
vacuum to pull the oil and ethanol through the filter paper, leaving the zeolite behind.
6. Now your oil is clean and you can move on to the next step.

j. Use your rotary evaporator/hotplate/tube and shell system to recover all of the ethanol out of
your washed oil.
K. Pour your oil while still warm into your short path distillation set up and distill at 205C.
L. You should pull two fractions (the main body and the tails fractions) The main body is going to
be the most potent

You can then mix your oil with other terpenes or flavinoids to meet your specific needs. Oil is
now ready to be consumed.

Notes:
The time in the oven can be adjusted up to an additional 15-20 minutes to facilitate further
conversion. This SOP will only do about a maximum of 30% D9 30% D8 and 5-10% CBD with
some other minors in tact.
