PROFESSION OF FAITH: (Do not read unless the Priest will start)
Nicene Creed
I believe in one God, the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God,
born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,

(At the words that follow, up to and including “and became man,” all bow.)
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,

he suffered death and was buried,
and rose again on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead
and his kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,

who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.

I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.

I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins
and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ,
his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into
hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is
seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge
the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the
communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life
everlasting. Amen.

become for us the bread of life.

Priest: Lift up your hearts.
Commentator: We lift them up to the Lord.
Priest: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
Commentator: It is right and just.

PREFACE TO THE EUCHARISTIC PRAYER

Priest: It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere to
give you thanks, Lord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God, through Christ our Lord.
For through his Paschal Mystery, he accomplished the marvelous deed, by which he
has freed us from the yoke of sin and death, summoning us to the glory of being now
called a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for your own
possession, to proclaim everywhere your mighty works, for you have called us out of
darkness into your own wonderful light. And so, with Angels and Archangels, with
Thrones and Dominions, and with all the hosts and Powers of heaven, we sing the
hymn of your glory, as without end we acclaim:

PREFACE: SANCTUS (Recited or Sung)

Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of hosts. Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in
the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

Commentator: Please kneel.

(If not sung, respond)
Commentator: When we eat this Bread and drink this Cup, we proclaim your Death, O
Lord, until you come again.

the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours, for ever and ever.
Commentator: Amen.
THE COMMUNION RITE: THE LORD’S PRAYER
Priest: At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:
Commentator: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom
come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and
forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not
into temptation, but deliver us from evil. (If not sung, respond)

Priest: Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days,
that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all
distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Commentator: For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever. (If
not sung, respond)

SIGN OF PEACE
Priest: Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your Apostles: Peace I leave you, my peace I
give you, look not on our sins, but on the faith of your Church, and graciously grant her
peace and unity in accordance with your will. Who live and reign for ever and ever.
Commentator: Amen.

Priest: The peace of the Lord be with you always.

Commentator: And with your spirit.

LAMB OF GOD
ALL: Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us. Lamb of
God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take
away the sins of the world, grant us peace.
Commentator: Please kneel.

Priest: Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who takes away the sins of the world.
Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb.
Commentator: Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say
the word and my soul shall be healed.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

PRAYER OF SYNODALITY (1st & 3rd Week of the Month)

We stand before You, Holy Spirit, as we gather together in Your name.
With You alone to guide us, make Yourself at home in our hearts;
Teach us the way we must go and how we are to pursue it.
We are weak and sinful; do not let us promote disorder.
Do not let ignorance lead us down the wrong path nor partiality influence our actions.
Let us find in You our unity so that we may journey together to eternal life and not stray
from the way of truth and what is right.
All this we ask of You, who are at work in every place and time, in the communion of the
Father and the Son, forever and ever.
Amen.

PRAYER BEFORE ELECTIONS

Lord God, as the election approaches, we seek to better understand the issues and
concerns that confront our city/state/country, and how the Gospel compels us to
respond as faithful citizens in our community.

We ask for eyes that are free from blindness so that we might see each other as
brothers and sisters, one and equal in dignity, especially those who are victims of abuse
and violence, deceit and poverty.

We ask for ears that will hear the cries of children unborn and those abandoned, Men
and women oppressed because of race or creed, religion or gender.

We ask for minds and hearts that are open to hearing the voice of leaders who will bring
us closer to your Kingdom.

We pray for discernment so that we may choose leaders who hear your Word, live your
love, and keep in the ways of your truth as they follow in the steps of Jesus and his
Apostles and guide us to your Kingdom of justice and peace.

We ask this in the name of your Son Jesus Christ and through the power of the Holy
Spirit. Amen.

Commentator: And with your spirit.
