Lab Report: Understanding Basic Logic Gates (AND, OR,
NOT)
1. Objective
The goal of this lab is to familiarize students with the operation of basic logic
gates—AND, OR, and NOT—by constructing simple circuits and observing their
behavior through truth tables.

Combined Logic Function
● AND Gate: The LED lit up only when both buttons were pressed. ● OR
Gate: The LED lit up with at least one button pressed, showcasing the
inclusive nature of OR logic.
● NOT Gate: The LED behavior was opposite to the state of the button;
pressing the button turned off the LED, and releasing it turned it on. ●
Combined Circuit: The output varied correctly according to the logical
operation of the gates combined. When both buttons were pressed, the
output of the AND gate was low, thus turning off the LED after passing
through the NOT gate.
5. Conclusion
The laboratory sessions helped me understand how to operate AND logic gate, OR
logic gate and NOT logic gate. Constructing the circuitry and seeing the values
from the truth tables helped me understand to a greater extent how these gates
function in digital electronics. Such gates in effect provide the building blocks of
intricate circuits in the circuitry of digital electronics. Naturally, this is only the
primary foundation that is applicable to base electronic studies, and computer
science studies as well.
