The will then say,
Communication is a process of sharing and conveying messages or information from
one person to another within and across channels, contexts, media and cultures.

Now, in order to understand communication deeper, let us define its “Nature”.

Communication has three nature:

1. Communication is a process.
This simply means that communication among people is active and cyclical. It
begins from one step and to another step.
2. Communication occurs between two or more people.
In here, the sender and the speaker take an active part. This emphasizes social
contact among humans. In other words, communication is interactive.
3. Communication can be expressed through written or spoken words, action
(nonverbal), or both spoken words and nonverbal actions at the same time.
This means communication is symbolic.
Now, Let’s move on to the “Communication Modes”.
So, Communication Modes can be defined as the ways by which communication can be
expressed. It can be through verbal, nonverbal and written.
So, let’s start with:
1. Verbal communication
This refers to the mode of communication that involves speaking. It occurs when
you speak or when you use words.
2. Nonverbal Communication
This refers to non-speech type of communication. It is any type of communication
that does not include spoken word.
3. Written Communication
This refers to communicating through writing.

2. Elaborate (15 minutes)

The teacher will further elaborate elements of communication.

The teacher will then say, Communication is divided to elements which helps us to
better
understand its mechanics.
The elements are the following:
1. Sender or Speaker
This refers to the source of information
2. Message
This refers to the information, ideas, or thoughts conveyed by the speaker in
words or in action
3. Encoding
This refers to the process of converting the message into words, actions, or other
other forms that the speaker understands.
4. Channel
This serves as the vehicle used in transmitting messages or ideas.
The medium or the mean, such as personal or non-personal, verbal or nonverbal,
in which the decoded message in conveyed.
5. Decoding
This is the process of interpreting the encoded message. This is done by the receiver.
6. Receiver
The receiver is the recipient of the message, or someone who decodes the message
7. Feedback
This refers to the reactions, responses, or information provided by the receiver.
