Chapters: Congruency of Triangles
1. What is the criteria of congruency for the following figure
a) SSS b) SAS c) RHS d) SSA
2. Two equilateral triangles are congruent only if
a) Their angles are equal c) their sides are equal
b) their sides are proportional d) their areas are equal
3. In Δ MES, ME = ES and ∠E = 55° then ∠M is
1
a) 55° b) 62 ° c) 125° d) 45°
2
4. In a ∆𝐴𝐵𝐶, if 2∠𝐴 = 3∠𝐵 = 6∠𝐶, 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑛 ∠𝐴 𝑖𝑠
a) 45° b) 90° c) 60 ° d) 120°
5. If TOY≅BAG by means of SAS such that ∠𝐴 = ∠𝑂 = 90° AG = 6 cm, OT = 8cm, then
GB is
a) 5 cm b) 6 cm c) 7 cm d) 10 cm
6. Prove that a ∆𝐴𝐵𝐶 is Isosceles if the median BD is perpendicular to AC .
7. In a parallelogram ABCD the bisectors of consecutive angles A and B intersect at P. Prove
that ∠𝐴𝑃𝐵 = 90°
8. In ΔABC, AM is median and produced to J such that CJ and AI are perpendiculars to AM
then, Prove that ΔAMI ≅ Δ CMJ
9. In the given fig. BC = CE and ∠1 = ∠2 then prove that GCB ≅DCE
10. CDE is an equilateral triangle formed on a side CD of a square ABCD. Show that
∆ ADE ≅ ∆ BCE.
11. In a parallelogram ABCD, AB is produced to E such that BE = AB. Show that ED bisects
BC.
12. Due to heavy rains in a forest, the upper part of a tree is broken. The broken branches AB
and AC of length 5 m fell on the ground making an angle 300 with the bark AP. Point B is at
a distance of 4 m from P.
Prove that (i) ∆ ABP ≅ ∆ ACP.
(ii) Find the height of the tree
