Vo- Good afternoon, so what is your intended program?
Me: Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering
Vo (smiling): Bachelor’s eh? When did you graduate from high school?
Me: I have graduated last year.
Vo: Okay so what have you been doing for the last year?
Me: Due to the pandemic, I wasn’t able to go anywhere so instead I took courses
online to develop my personal skills which would benefit me in the long run.
Vo: Okay. Pass me your I-20 please.
Passes I-20
Vo: Okay let’s see what we have got here. Okay so I can see you have got a
scholarship of 20,000$ and the rest of the fees are to be paid by your father. So
what does your father do?
Me: Answered
Vo: Okay. Why did you choose this university?
Me: I got the exact course I wanted which is computer engineering and it is a---
Vo interrupted
Vo: C’mon man you and I know that a lot of universities offer this course. So why
this university?
Me: Another reason is the faculty to student ratio which is 16:1.
Vo: And what is that?
Me: It means for every 16 students 1 teacher is assigned and the classroom is small
so I can understand and do classes more closely with my professor.
Vo(smiling): Okay, I am approving your visa my friend. You will receive an email
within two weeks from now to pick up your passport. Carry your I-20 and passport
with you at all time when you are travelling to the States. Have a good day.
Me(takes back the I-20): Thank you. Have a good day
