ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
It has been an honor and a greater priviledge to be able
to consummate this project fortuitously.
I am beholden to my Physics teacher for their guidance
and constant inspection as well as for providing with
obligatory information to look on in the project. Their
willingness and desire to help as much as one can,
made me understand the project and its manifestations
in great vindictivity.
I would also like to thank my parents for their
cooperation and encouragement. I have taken efforts in
this project. However, it would not have been possible
without the kind support and help of my fellow mate.
My recognition is also extended for the masterminds
who contemplated of this project out of their abilities.

INTRODUCTION:
A rocket is a vehicle that uses jet propulsion ie., the
propulsion of an object in one direction, to accelerate
without using any surrounding air or even in the
absence of air ie., vacuum. A rocket engine produces
thrust by reaction to exhaust expelled at high speed.
Rockets work more efficiently in a vacuum and incur a
loss of thrust due to the opposing pressure of the
atmosphere. A rocket generates thrust using a
controlled explosion as the fuel and oxidant undergo a
violent chemical reaction. Expanding gases from the
explosion are pushed out of the back of
the rocket through a nozzle.
Chemical rockets store a large amount of energy in an
easily released form, and can be very dangerous.
Rocketry was the enabling technology for the Space
Age, including setting foot on the moon. Rockets are
now used for fireworks, missiles, and other weaponry,
ejection seats, launch vehicles for artificial satellites,
human spaceflight, and space exploration.
CONSTRUCTION OF THE MODEL:
The materials needed to make the model of the rocket
are as follows-
A4 sized papers of atleast two different colors,
scissors, glue, two syringes (without needle), a
tube/pipe to connect the two syringes, a cardboard of
required size.
AIM:
To prove that a rocket works on the principle of
Newton’s Third Law of Motion, which shows that an
action has an equal and opposite reaction.
PROCEDURE:
1. Take the A4 size paper and make a paper rocket
out of it, such that the base has enough area that
we are able to stick the plunger of the syringe to
it.
2. Remove the needles off the syringes and connect
a tube of appropriate length and width so that the
water/fluid which is to be filled in the syringe is
able to move without any restrictions.
3. Fill one of the syringe with the fluid and join the
tube to it such that one of the syringe’s piston if
fixed to the base of the rocket made so.
4. You may also use the cardboard to support the
rocket to help it stand firmly by sticking its back
portion and the lower portion to the cardboard.
5. Now slowly, with less or appropriate force, push
the piston which is not attatched to the base of
the rocket.
6. Observe carefully as the rocket moves up ie.,
gets displaced from its original position by a few
distance.
7. This proves the point that, on doing action on the
syringe, by pushing it upwards, the rocket which
was initially at rest, gets displaced from its initial
position, which is a completely equal and
opposite reaction to the action.
8. Hence,
“EVERY ACTION HAS AN OPPOSITE
AND EQUAL REACTION.”
