CHALLENGES FACING DISABLED CHILDREN IN ACCESSING EDUCATION:

CASE STUDY OF KIGAMBONI DISTRICT

2. Statement of the problem

Previous research on education of children with disability have focused on Professional

Development among Educators and Program in Special Education in Tanzania (Kapinga, 2017)

and inclusive education-achieving education for all by including those with disabilities and

special education needs (Peters, 2015). There is little documentation of what constraints disabled

children to advance to next education levels.

Therefore reason made the researcher to conduct this study so as to identify the hindrances

facing disabled children studying in different schools also in special schools in their learning

process. It will identify the most important hindrances to success of disabled children. It will use

different combination of methods to collect both quantitative and qualitative data such as

interview to both beneficiaries and key informants for primary data also participant’s observation

and documents review (desk review) for secondary data.

3. Research objective

 To determine the extent to which children with disabilities have the access to education

services.

 To determine the challenges towards access of education for children with disability.

 To determine efforts to impact education accessibility to disabled children
