"Mathematics is a great motivator for all humans… because its career starts with zero and it
never ends (infinity)."
Those who study maths are keen problem solvers, eager to make sense of even the most
advanced equations. Academic research is a common career path, but so are careers in business,
economics and banking. This wide range of opportunities comes from the universal need for
graduates with strong analytical and problem-solving skills – which math graduates should have
by the bucketload.
In the land of the great Aryabhatta, there are numerous career options in maths. It is the perfect
subject with logic, analytical thinking, and time management that helps you scale your career.
Passionate students pursuing maths can choose from various, unique professions that might be a
great way to discover some findings that would change how maths is viewed.
Along with being one of the most suitable career options for maths students, it is a great way to
explore its foundations. It helps in solving many practical world problems and presents a simpler
solution for them.
According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, “During the period from 2018 and 2028, the job
market for mathematicians is expected to grow by 30%, along with a predicted median salary of
US $88,190.” This opens up so many new avenues for students wanting to learn maths with all
their hearts.
Mathematics is a question that can be solved with practice and can be applied in our daily life
and can make us practical. Therefore can also be chosen as a career in our life. Some careers in
maths are Career in banking,Actuarial careers,
Statistician careers,Careers in academia and research,Engineering,
Meteorology and Teaching.
Other common math careers include; intelligence analysis, operational research, statistical
research, logistics, financial analysis, market research (for business), management consultancy,
IT (systems analysis, development or research), software engineering, computer programming,
the public sector (advisory capacity as a scientist or statistician), scientific research and
development (e.g. biotechnology, meteorology or oceanography).
Mathematic is a discipline seed in the study of the all sciences. In addition to contributing to the
development of nuclear energy, mathematicians played in important roles in the 20th century in
the development of automobile, the television and space exploration. This on of the specialists in
the field of applied mathematics include the computer applications engineers formulate model
and develop computer system to solve scientific and engineering problem. Engineering analysts
apply logical analysis to scientific, engineering and other technical problems and convert them to
mathematical terms to be solved by computers.
The mathematicians in industrial and government positions usually work a regular 40- hour
week. Those who work in environment setting may have varied schedules. For both the work
environment is generally pleasant and typical of the modem, well-equipped office.
Mathematicians often work in comfortable offices. They often are part of an interdisciplinary
team that may include economists, engineers, computer scientists, physicists, technicians, and
others. Deadlines, overtime work, special requests for information or analysis, and prolonged
travel to attend seminars or conferences may be part of their jobs.
Mathematicians who work in academia usually have a mix of teaching and research
responsibilities. These mathematicians often conduct research alone, or are aided by graduate
students interested in the topic being researched. The work may require long periods of close
concentration.
Mathematics is challenging, rewarding and fun. It is both logical and creative. Students who
major in mathematics have a variety of opportunities. The mathematics major prepares students
for traditional pursuits such as graduate study, teaching and work as an actuary. Students with a
love of math find a mathematics major can be combined with a pre-professional curriculum or a
major in the sciences or engineering to provide a strong background for graduate study or
employment in a field related to mathematics.
Career opportunities are unlimited for mathematics majors. They may pursue graduate education,
career paths in business, science or technical fields or disciplines such as social services,
education and government.
