Hello everyone, and welcome to today's session on preparing for the IELTS Speaking
Test at The Forum Center. Today, we will cover two key sections to help you perform
confidently on this test.

Section 1: Vocabulary Building


In this first section, we’ll focus on expanding your vocabulary, which is essential
for discussing places. Our vocabulary learning is divided into five parts:
Part 1: General Vocabulary: We’ll start by covering foundational words that are
essential for describing different types of places. To help reinforce both
pronunciation and familiarity, we’ll go over each term three times. Listen closely
and repeat each one after me.

1. Urban Urban Urban


Definition : Relating to a city or town.
Example

Despite its urban location, the park is a tranquil green space away from the hustle
and bustle.

2. Rural Rural Rural


Definition : Relating to the countryside rather than the town.

Part 3: Buildings and Structures


This part will include specific words like "skyscraper," "cottage," and "edifice,"
which help describe architectural aspects of places. To help reinforce both
pronunciation and familiarity, we’ll go over each term three times. Listen closely

Example

classical architecture.
Example

Definition : A long projecting beam or girder fixed at only one end, used chiefly

Part 4: Phrases and Idiomatic Expressions:


We’ll discuss expressions like "off the beaten track," "heart of the city," and
more, to make your descriptions sound natural and expressive. To help reinforce
